Two very attractive young gentlemen were very helpful today when I stopped by with my two granddaughters. They were very kind and made great suggestions for me and the little ones. I am 63 and now a-days its so hard to find young men with the kindness and may I say handsomeness of the two gentlemen today. You've got a 5 star from me !

Butterfly Kiss which is one of their signature flavors. It is birthday cake and cotton candy...YUM!!!

Pelican's is a great little spot to grab a shaved ice. I am warning you now, get a small and ask for an extra cup....They like to pack on that ice :) They have over 100 flavors, as well as numerous toppings to add like whip cream or nerds candy. Do not know what to try? I suggest the Butterfly Kiss flavor which was a mixture of Birthday Cake and Cotton Candy topped off with a yummy butterfly gummie! This will become a regular spot during those hot summer days!!!

Quick, friendly service, large portions, and delicious shaved ice and ice cream! They have numerous flavors to choose from. I recommend the shaved iced flavors with added cream (ex. cotton candy cream)!

Shaved ice with artificial syrup that comes in 100 flavors! There wasn't anything special about it but a fun process to mix the flavors. I would recommend eating it on the spot. If you bring it home and freeze it for later, it becomes an ice cube.

Enjoyed delicious homemade chocolate ice cream. Large portions. Nice seating area with games to play.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff but no where as good as the Apex location. Here we ran out of syrup believe it or not. Our ice was white in some spots. Very disappointing for the grown ups but the kids didn't care, it was dark anyway. Apex was the reason why we stopped here.

This stuff is so good. Quite a variety of flavors. Not chunky pieces like most snowcones, really fine ice and easy to eat.

If you are looking for the nearby museum, that is the Randleigh Heritage Museum. It is a little further up the road, but appointments are usually required. Howling Cow has parking right outside, just watch the signs, as a few spots don't allow parking because of loading zones. Pets are not allowed, so leave them at home. Howling Cow sells ice cream, milk, sodas, water, cheese and other merchandise, such as clothing and water bottles, inside. They are a cashless facility, so remember your credit or debit card. You can get cones, cups, sundaes, and milkshakes. There are a few tables inside, and if you prefer to sit on the covered porch, there are tables and even some rocking chairs. The cows sometimes roam the pastures on cooler days. This visit, I went with the chocolate peanut butter ice cream brownie sundae. I wasn't expecting it to be so big and have as many of the toppings as it did. I couldn't finish it, but they had tops to put on it so you could take it to go. These were near where you pick up your order, so it's easy to grab one if you need one. Line out the door but it moved very fast and after I ordered they scooped it so fast. My only complaint is that my friend got a milkshake (comes with whipped cream) and the worker making it used a rag to wipe excess whipped cream off the top of the cup lid. That rag had been used to clean the counter and was dropped on the ground. The other worker fixed it after we complained. But a reminder this place is run by college students haha!!

After spending far too much time looking at the menu and trying to decide what combination I should go with, I finally decided on a vanilla ice cream cone dipped in fruity pebbles and topped with marshmallows! I was a bit surprised to find that the only ice cream base option was vanilla. However, there are a variety of cores (filling), dips, and toppings options to jazz it up. I went for chocolate dip, toffee topping, and espresso drizzle. It was honestly just okay. The ice cream quality rivaled a dipped cone you could get at Dairy Queen, especially because it comes on the basic sugar cone. Because it's a hard shell, it gets eaten pretty quickly before you finish all of the ice cream. Once the shell is gone, you're left with just plain vanilla ice cream. The concept is cool, but at nearly $10 for a dipped cone with toppings, it's underwhelming and overpriced.
