Reunited with my true love, Brambleberry Crisp. Our first time to this Jeni's location over in the Village District. Same delicious Jeni's flavors. I got Brambleberry crisp and gooey butter cake in a cone - amazing! Even if it was cold out. I love that they use metal tasting spoons - what a classy add. Tons of parking - may still be super busy if you go on the weekends.
What an elevated pleasant surprise! This is not your mama's ice cream store- these flavors are multi-layered and textured. They offer a variety of fun & unique flavors! Kelli, the customer service extraordinaire was extremely helpful in giving me pointers (as I was a Jeni's newbie) and was uber-patient in my questions and samples!! She's a gem. While the price might be a smidge higher than your average old-school ice cream shop, it's worth evey penny! (& it's rare I give anything 5 stars... just sayin')
Me and my friend decided to try a new ice cream spot today and we are NOT disappointed! First off, walking in we were both pleasantly surprised with the sweet smell of ice cream. The creamery looked clean and fresh. The glass counters were clean and the bins of ice cream didn't look cross contaminated either. The wall decor was so cute and the lady working over the counter was so nice. I got the honey vanilla bean two scoops with a waffle cone. Let me tell you it was absolutely Devine!!! It was creamy and had such a unique vanilla flavor. The honey really gave it its own distinct flavor too. It was plenty to eat and super good. The waffle cone too was like a salted caramel cone. I wasn't the biggest fan because the salt threw me off but it was a perfect crunch and perfect size. No leaks or anything! Such a good ice cream. It was a little more expensive but, if you want an alternative treat like Cold Stone Creamery, this is the spot!
I was there Gandalf, I was there 3000 years ago when Jeni made the first ice cream. For real, I was. I was a college student in Columbus, Ohio. We would go to the shop in the North Market before it was Jeni's and after to the shop in the Short North and other locations. I was so excited when they opened up a shop a few miles from my home in Powell, Ohio. Jeni's makes some great ice cream with high quality ingredients, locally sourced (well, local to CMH), and has some amazing flavors that have now become classic flavors. But is Jeni's right for North Carolina? They are an Ohio brand. They make Ohio flavors such as Sweet corn with black raspberries, or Middle West Whiskey and Pecans (OYO is a local Columbus distillery), or goat cheese with Michigan cherries....these are great for Ohio, but what about the flavors of the south? Service at this location is the worst I've seen of any Jeni's scoop shops, I think that its distance from the mothership allows for quality to slip--no friendly welcomes, poor management of customer flow, multiple employees helping one person when there's a line.... Plus they don't have all the same items they have up north such as fresh made whipped cream! I about walked out when I made my order and they told me they didn't "do that down here." Jeni's used to be a very socially just shop. They paid a living wage, benefits, great hours and they didn't allow tips because of this. Now they do. It was always nice when you bought your overpriced expensive ice cream to not see a "now lets tack on another 20% for scooping you a $12 ice cream cone." Now I don't really see mention of benefits online and salary seems about average. Jeni needs to separate herself and her politics from the business. Many years ago she proclaimed very radical left leaning beliefs on the company social media, angering about half of her customers...not sure why you'd do that? Who wants any political ideology shoved in your face when you just want ice cream? This also happened at the same time they were having multiple listeria outbreaks in their kitchens forcing them to close shops and dump thousands of gallons of ice cream. Public trust was really hurt and then she insulted half the customer base. I remember the shops being empty for a long time I didn't think they'd make it. It's no wonder they seem to pay less now and allow tips, it was probably the only way to survive. I'm not sure Jeni's really fits in down here as much as it does up north. Here we have Goodberry's, Sunni Skies, Fresh Local, JT's, Fat Cat and many other homemade ice cream shops that you can feed your entire family for the cost of one person at Jeni's.
I was so excited that they put a Jeni's in Raleigh. I could only get it when I went to Atlanta before. I was so happy when I got my dark chocolate with rainbow sprinkles. The team members were so nice and friendly. I would definitely return.
This place is unbelievably good! No wonder the line was out the door. It was well worth the wait. The customer service is exceptional. If you're looking for drive thru service, you won't get that here. They actually greet and help each guest / family. Now the taste, I need vegan options and truly these are the best vegan flavors & creamiest vegan ice cream I've ever had! I got the peppermint party and the Texas sheet cake! The rest of my family basically ordered every other regular option. Everything was delicious!
Love this place! They have the Best dairy free ice cream I have ever had! The employees are very friendly and helpful- they help with your choices. You can taste before you order. Best part- you can buy pints to take home.
Walk down the quaint path at Cameron Village and find this little gem tucked away in the shops. With unique flavors and kind staff Jeni's is the sweet spot to stop. The choices will have you wanting to pile your dish high with non-traditional flavors like Sparkling Cherry Pie. Come hungry, try a sample and let your tastebuds dance while you take a chance at a new twist on a childhood favorite we think this may just be something out of this world! **Our child with autism is overwhelmed easily. She struggled for a moment but the staff was gentle and kind waiting for her to regulate, understand and order! Kudos for hiring kind people!!!
I learned about Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams from a Yelp Event. It is located in the Village District. Parking was easy with a lot of parking spaces and even some two hour spots right in front of the shop. The staff is welcoming here and I believe they give samples but I did not ask for any. There are about 20 flavors to pick from. Most of the flavors are always available but some rotate about every week to get you to come back. A downside to Jeni's is that there is no seating or counter either inside or outside so I wouldn't get half scoops again as it melts so quickly. For that event, we were given three half scoops and one of the employees suggested I try the Pop Tarts Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon as it just came out and was limited. So I got that and Wildberry Lavender and Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks. I got a pint of the Milkiest Chocolate to go. I like the flavor of it but it melts too quickly. $12 a pint seems a little pricey too.
I am a big fan of Jenni's so I was happy to see they were opening up a shop in the Village District! They are located in the same plaza as Ivy & Leo and Village Deli, close to Kale Me Crazy. The shop is small, but they have two scoop stations setup behind the counter. Honestly the only reason for not five stars is they have zero seating. Not even a few bistro tables outside. It's hard to get a four year old to wait until he gets home to eat his ice cream. He ended up just sitting on the ground outside the building. Besides the seating issue the interior is bright and fun. The flavors are all clearly displayed on the board and in the case. I went for salted peanut butter with chocolate flecks and sweet cream biscuits with peach jam. Both were so delicious! They allow you to taste the flavors before you commit. My son got the rainbow frozen yogurt and vanilla and loved both. He was able to get sprinkles on his. They also have cute stickers at the front that kids can grab one of. The employees were freindlly! It is their openeing week and it wasn't too busy. I can see the place get slammed on the weekends and as we continue into Summer.
I was excited to try Jenni's as I've seen in the grocery store but been afraid to commit to a full pint of a few flavors. The guy who served us was very enthusiastic and told us which were most popular, limited, etc and recommended trying as many as possible which I loved. I only wish they had some outdoor seating to sit and enjoy. The Yelp Color changing spoon was a fun addition as well!
The base texture of the ice cream is smooth. The dairy free Texas sheet cake has a coconut milk base that complements the chocolate cake very well. There's a nice shuttle honey taste to the honey vanilla and the Tahini oat is especially good without being over sweet. I really like the waffle bowl because it wasn't overpowering sweet as well. The service was great!! I'll be back with friends!! Environment was quiet and there was a a great outdoor seating area that we enjoyed! Rating of 5 for me is not often but considering I'm not a sweet lover but would recommend and do over because there was more flavor that sweet, more substance of an enjoyable time than smoozing, and no pandering, this place has my vote!!
Wow!!! What an extraordinary event! This place was like magical! The flavors were absolutely incredible. When I walked in the young lady was soooooo welcoming! She took her time and allowed me to sample different flavors and also advised me on her favorites as well as fan favorites! I mixed the Brambleberry Crisp and the Gooey Butter Cake in a waffle cone!!!! Wow!!!! I would absolutely recommend this place!!!
Was so excited to see Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams is also in Raleigh after moving here a little while ago. When you arrive there is plenty of parking in front of the ice cream shop and the seating is located outside. Walking into Jeni's it has a cozy, calm, and relaxed vibe and the staff will let you sample any of the flavors. Unfortunately on this past visit one of the staff members blew his nose, didn't wash his hands, and the proceeded to scoop ice cream for other customers. This is a major health and hygiene, especially with it now being fall and the start of flu season. To prevent getting potentially sick, I had to excuse myself to the back of the line and have another staff member help us. I've never seen anything like this at any other Jeni's I've visited in Texas. I ordered the Brambleberry Crisp & the Brown Butter Almond Brittle served in a waffle cone. The ice cream and cone were good. Overall likely won't return given the hygiene and health issue I cited above. However, will definitely will visit Jeni's locations outside the Raleigh area. read more

I showed up for their Grand Opening special in which they were giving out up to three free scoops of ice cream in a waffle bowl/cup of your choice. I will tell you it was kray kray (that means crazy) with that line that went around 70% of the block. I didn't say building, I said BLOCK!!! I talked to some people at the front of the line, and some said they got there at 5pm, while others hours before them, and the event started at 7 pm. I guess you could wait a few hours before the event started, or wait a few hours after the event started. I got there right after 7pm, and the line went the long way around the building past Medlin-Davis cleaners to Rise Biscuit and Donuts. They were also handing out swag bags to the first few people in line. Not sure how many they did, but there looked like a few hundred people there by the time I got in line. I walked in right before 10PM to get my ice cream. I asked the guy making the waffle bowls if he could make me a fresh one for my ice cream, which he did. I really love that they have metal spoons instead of the wooden spoons from elementary schools like other places. The ice cream flavor is really good I will tell you. To be honest, the only reason why they didn't 5 Yelp stars was because the scoops were tiny. I mean, they do charge a premium price for their ice cream, and I think premium price deserves a premium size scoop instead of baby scoops. Maybe they were just using baby scoops for the Grand Opening. If I go back, and they have normal adult size scoops I will adjust my review as long as the service stays great. #511 read more

Do yourself a favor and try the burnt orange dreamsicle ! It's takes the classic and elevates it. Plus you can never go wrong with their gooey butter cake either and if you're really feeling special get the waffle cone! Great ice cream options, and the staff was extremely nice. I got 3 flavors: Texas sheet cake, salted peanut butter, and milk chocolate. I felt like the salted peanut butter was too salty for my taste but was great when combined with the other flavors. Texas sheet cake was super yummy and was coconut milk based. The milk chocolate was good as well. Love the area, too. We ate our ice cream outside and got to enjoy all the cute, nearby shopping. Would definitely come back when in the area. read more

Came here with friends at night after dinner. I was pleasantly surprised to find a store location of the famous Jeni's ice cream! They go for about $8 a pint and if ordered online about $12. I love their flavors and was excited to have some brambleberry crisp (fav flavor) with some of the waffle crisp to pair. It was so good! When trying flavors at the counter, wildberry lavender is quite the contender for me. Service was pretty fast for the line and there are plenty of chairs and seats inside to seat you and your friends! read more

We strolled in this parlor on a 90+ degree day after window shopping about in Cameron village. We were welcome by a bright interior and nice lady behind the counter who offered samples when we were unsure which flavors we wanted. We decided to try three different flavors in a waffle cup - birthday cake, milky chocolate and bramble berry - and while they don't seem like they'd go well together, they actually blended pretty well. Our favorite was the chocolate. The ice cream itself was pretty good; a little overly sweet but it is ice cream after all. There was a lack of seating indoors therefore we took our product outside. Due to it being such a hot day, it melted faster and was a little less enjoyable than it would have been in a temperature controlled climate. Overall, I would recommend, especially if you have kids and want to stop in for a quick cone on the go. read more

TLDR: Delicious ice cream at a price. Plenty of unique flavors to choose from. No seating. Customer service is okay. Yum, another ice cream place in Raleigh! I was so excited to try out Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams in Cameron village. Ample parking is available in the large plaza and the creamery is easy to locate. We were not greeted upon entering (that I can recall). One employee was helping customers check out, another was helping fulfill an order, and two employees were making waffle cone mix. There was a short line in front of us, but it moved slowly. This was fine since we needed time to decide on what to order. When another group entered behind us, they were greeted and an employee offered to help answer any questions they have. Jeni's offers a variety of ice cream flavors that vary from sweet to tart to flowery. You can try any flavors in the display case on a mini tasting spoon. I like that the tasting spoons are silverware rather than disposable. I tried a few flavors and decided on the signature (3 half-scoops) in a waffle bowl ($8.50) of bramble berry, wild berry lavender, and strawberry buttermilk. The bramble berry and strawberry were my favorite, very flavorful. I like how they offer half scoops so that it is easier to enjoy multiple flavors, but it is expensive. We also ordered pints to go of wild berry lavender, pop tarts, and milkiest chocolate. The pints are already packed and ready to go for $12/pint. This seemed very pricy. It is a better deal than the signature, but $12/pint is higher than all other creameries I have visited in the area. Overall, we enjoyed the ice cream (especially the bramble berry), but there are other more affordable options in the area for specialty ice cream. read more
Okay so you know I love Jeni's! I think they have really nice employees, really clean stores, and great flavors. This store had free water and I loved that. I especially love that they have dairy free flavors and rotating seasonal flavors. However, this location only gets 4 stars because they had fewer flavors available and no inside seating. The Durham location has wayyyy more flavors! read more
This is a brand new ice cream place! It was opening weekend so it was very crowded. It took about a half an hour to get ice cream because there were so many people. The quality of the ice cream is amazing though and there were a ton of flavors. I do wish they had more available that were listed online but they were out of a lot of product. I love to the music that was playing and the temperature was good as well. I would recommend that there'll be more workers because there was too much demand for how many people were available to work. I would recommend trying out this new ice cream place. read more
Not sure what the hype is about this place but my last two times here have been subpar experiences. This ice cream is ridiculously priced it's just flat out NOT worth the money. It's like their ice cream scoopers came from a kid's kitchen play set...one scoop is 5 freakin dollars. The ice cream is way too sweet. Plus, all of their flavors are too whacky to be good considering the quality of the ice cream. When I went to the one in Nashville I had a completely different experience so I'm super disappointed by what it's come to. No shwaeness about it :/ read more
