Raleigh Rolls is a solid place to get some ice cream. The experience is cool as you get to customize your order and watch the staff make it right in front of you. They have around 15-20 options for toppings and mix-ins so there are so many possibilities of how you can make your ice cream. The establishment is also located in a food hall with other restaurants and food joints, so that was a plus as well. However, the wait can be very long due to the process, and I don't find it worthwhile to spend time in the lines. It was also very expensive for ice cream; I paid a little over $30 for three cups. It was good ice cream and a nice experience, but I would not get it again given the possible wait times and high price. read more

Delicious? Yes!!! If you go there you'll definitely need to wait in line if it's during the evening. Waited maybe 15-20 minutes before we could order. I ordered the Monkey N' Around with Oreos mixed in. I enjoyed the ice cream; however, there was not much of a banana flavor to it. It tasted pretty much just like a cookies n cream ice cream. This ice cream spot was the last on the list for my Mother's Day celebration. After a fun-filled and active day, what better way to close the day out than with some fresh and flavorful ice cream rolls? This ice cream shop is located in the Morgan Street Food Hall among a variety of restaurants and shops. It was very crowded in the Morgan Street Food Hall. We waited in line for a good amount of time before we got to order. There are a few selections of signature ice cream rolls, and you also have the option of making a custom ice cream roll with your favorite ingredients. A list of available ingredients and toppings is displayed. They prepare everything right in front of you, so you get to see the process. That was pretty cool. It was great watching them make the ice cream rolls. We ordered Grandma's Nanner Puddin and a berry custom made ice cream roll. They were creamy, smooth, and tasted great! read more

Stopped by with a friend on a Friday evening and while it wasn't busy, the service was a bit slow. There were several employees behind the counter who weren't really working just talking among themselves (even tho a line was forming) while one girl was working hard. But she got my custom order right and it was delicious! I ordered biscoff cookies and chocolates mixed in and caramel syrup and biscoff cookies as my toppings. My sweet treat was delicious and I'll be back for sure the next time I'm in Raleigh. Located inside a local food hall. No designated parking, only street parking available (which there was plenty of). read more

I've tried these fresh rolled ice-cream at other places, my first time trying it in Raleigh! You can choose your own mixins and toppings from the list. I was feeling lazy to put in the effort so chose the MonkeyN around which consisted of banana slices & Nutella (Mix in) and whipped cream, Nutella drizzle, chopped hazelnuts and chocolate hazelnut pirouette. We had to tell the lady making it our choice and she was started working on it. She seemed pretty disinterested in us and our order, and more into the family who was in line after us that while she was making ours a big chunk of the icecream fell off reducing one of my rolls into less than half haha.. I was watching intently. I must say it's a lot of effort to mix and make those rolls, so I definitely appreciate the work she put in. read more

I really do like Raleigh Rolls Ice cream. I have had them several times. This was the first time stopping by this location, the other times were from their food truck. They do have some restaurant creations, or you can create your own. You get three mix ins, and three toppings for each one. They make them right in front of you, and as it it labor intensive, the line can get long. I will say that I made the mistake of getting my daughter her own, because at $7.95 a cup, she wasted over half of it. I just chocked it up to a fun day out, and let it go. But i know for next time. I got the banana pudding inspired rolls and although it looked really cute and the worker took her time and really personalized my order...the ice cream just didn't do it for me. It was flavorless but that's probably because of the liquid (maybe heavy cream or melted ice cream) that is used. Nonetheless, it's worth a try if you don't like things that are too sweet! read more

I love rolled ice cream! I've been to Raleigh Rolls a couple of times and they never disappoint! The ice cream is creamy and delicious and I love the toppings. The line is always long every time I go there and it moves a little slow because of the whole process of rolling the ice cream and adding the toppings. It's a fun concept and you get to watch them making it. During my last visit I tried the Strawberry Tempura (a collaboration between Raleigh Rolls and a Japanese restaurant called Kanki) and it was amazing! You can also choose one of the signature flavors from the "our flavors" section or make your own flavor (3 ingredients for a mix in + 3 toppings). Raleigh Rolls is a must visit when at Morgan St Food Hall. The rolls are irresistible and really tasty. This was my first time trying rolled ice cream and I enjoyed it. There is a set menu when you arrive and an option for Dairy-Free which is coconut milk based. I decided on the Grandma's Nanner Puddin and added walnuts to the inside. It comes with Bananas, vanilla ice cream, 3 Nilla wafers and whipped cream. My daughter enjoyed the S'mores with a marshmallow, a real mini Hershey bar and graham crackers. Kids always want ice cream and was recommended to come out and check it out. Prices - A bit high but it's worth the experience to have the kids watch how the ice cream rolls are made. The ice cream flavors at Raleigh Rolls are delicious, the selection of offerings is expansive and accommodating, and their signature hand-rolled technique is impressive and beautiful. They have Gluten Free and Dairy-Free options. I have a dairy allergy, and am always excited to see dairy-free ice cream options. Updating my review for 2021 because I wanted everyone to know how good their DAIRY FREE option is! It is made with soy and coconut milk and doesn't have any kind of weird taste. I did not the WTH reaction to it at all. The owner and his family are dairy free and you can tell he took his time tweaking the recipe to give it a great taste. I customized mine to have fresh strawberries and bananas mixed it and it was delicious! My kid got her fave S'mores and my hubby tried the flavor of the month which is cheesecake. He got Oreo cookies mixed in and it looked so yummy! Ice cream in February on a cold day was doable because Morgan Street Food Hall has heaters outside! read more

I thought the ice cream was a lot and too sweet but it might've just been because of the toppings/mix-ins I got. I'm giving it a 4 because of its richness. It's hard to keep eating and not feeling like your getting diabetes. The flavors are so rich, if you're having a sweet tooth moment get over here but if you want regular ice cream you're not gonna find it here. Great stuff though! read more

The ice cream here is delicious and it's cool to watch their staff create the rolls from scratch. I can't quite remember when I ordered, but I do know it has Biscoff cookies and coffee mixed in so I was sold! Great spot at Morgan Street food hall for rolled ice cream. The waffle taco is pretty awesome! Never seen anything like it. I have had rolled ice cream a few times, and this is first time I really enjoyed it and didn't just taste like frozen milk. Raleigh rolls is located inside of morgan street food hall. The hall is located downtown so parking may be an issue depending on the time and day that you go. The line is always long but it moved pretty quick. You can get your rolls in a cup or a taco. The menu rolls are $7 and the special rolls are $8. I decided to try the s'mores rolls. Graham crackers are crushed and put into the ice cream rolls as they are being made. The rolls are topped with chocolate sauce and a piece of a Hersey's bar, whipped cream, a graham cracker, and a roasted marshmallow that is torched when it is ordered. Overall it was good but I felt like the rolls needed more flavor. The staff was really friendly and funny. I may come back and try another flavor. read more

These guys have been rocking and rolling now for about two years and are located inside of the @morganstreetfoodhall. They have over 500 different flavor combinations that you can customize on your own. The rolled ice cream is important from Thailand (yep real Thai rolled ice cream). These guys recently purchased a new ice cream truck that's mobile and they are ready to serve all of your social distant outdoor gatherings. Here's a cool secret that we found out, the Pumpkin Pie ice cream flavor will be debuting sometime in October so get ready pumpkin fans. But don't let October get here and you not try the ice cream before hand. These guys are open now, all wearing masks and ready to see you come through those shiny doors. Ok... so here is the part that might make you want to lick your phone - Pictured here is the Mixed Berry rolled ice cream in a cup. I'm a huge fan of rolled ice creams and Raleigh Rolls is a nice place. The ice creams are very well designed and decorated for the flavors. The ice cream itself was not the best or most creamy ice cream I've ever had. There was something missing but I'd give it another shot. The s'mores ice cream was good but the chocolate sauce they put on it was very overpowering. In the fruity ice cream the strawberry seeds got all over my mouth. I'm a sucker for these tasty tasty rolls! I have a hard time leaving Morgan Street Food Hall without a Raleigh Rolls cup in hand. The line can sometimes be crazy and can take forever, but I always still get in that line. The employees work their butts off making those rolls, it is not an easy task-- constant mixing, scraping, and rolling. It looks like a workout! I've tried a few flavors but my favorite is definitely chunky monkey. The banana and Nutella flavors really come through and in my mind it's just a combo that cannot be beat. They also sell bottles of water for a $1 which is a nice touch. read more

The shop itself is clean, well decorated, and inviting with a semblance to what you'd expect and desire from a classic ice cream shop. They even pay attention to the details, like using these fun metal spoons for tasting (highly suggested) instead of the typical flimsy plastic or wooden ones common in other shops, which are available for purchase. The staff was friendly, service was efficient. There is also some cool merch which is fun if you're into that stuff. Personally, I am not the biggest fan of their naming scheme for the options, instead of just having a single, double, or more straightforward menu options, they have names like "standard" which is actually 2 "half scoops" (quotes cause they're just small scoops), and then a single which is a single full scoop, or a trio which is 3 half scoops not full scoops, just overall a tad confusing and not straightforward in how much ice cream you are actually getting, though it does allow one to get multiple flavors more easily I guess? The prices are definitely leaning on the higher side, especially for pints, but I feel that is to be expected of "gourmet" ice cream shops, especially nowadays. Overall, I highly recommend for any and all ice cream lvoers, and will absolutely be returning myself.

To save time I started an online order. It took a while to go through the log in process and a $2 tip was required. This brought the total of one cookie to nearly $7! Then when it said the wait time was 15-20 min, I decided to abandon the online order and order at the counter. There were about 3 employees busy at work and no customers. I was greeted upon arrival and helped right away. I ordered one cookie and the order came to over $9 before tip. I questioned the total and the employee returned to fix it. I like how you can easily see and pay on the screen so I could see the error. When fixed the total was about $5. Pricy for one cookie, but they do look pretty and are packaged well so they make a great gift. The rotating weekly menu is exciting, but the cookies are not very flavorful so they taste similar. Even the guava cookie had a very faint fruity flavor and mainly tasted like sugar. Many times I have noticed that the unique flavors are just in the frosting not the cookie itself. I understand having a weekly changing menu is challenging, but there is room for improvement on their flavors. The cookies are all perfectly baked and decorated beautifully. Overall, good place for the occasional treat or gift.

Raleigh Rolls is one of my favorite ice cream places in the Triangle! The Thai rolled ice cream is crafted right in front of you by their ice cream artists. One of my favorite flavors is the Benelux Biscoffee that features locally roasted Benelux coffee and it has tasty Biscoff cookies mixed in. Another popular flavor that I also love is the Mixed Berry, which has Fruity Pebbles, a strawberry Poky stick and a big strawberry on the side! Super delicious. I would highly recommend visiting. You definitely have to be patient because sometimes the lines get long on a weekend. Since it's made fresh and to order, you will have to wait a few minutes. read more

We tried Raleigh Rolls on Tuesday and had excellent service and the dairy free S'mores was awesome!! We have food allergies and it was amazing to be able to see our ice cream being made to verify it was safe for us. They even fully cleaned one of their grills completely to make sure there was no cross contamination risk. The staff talked me through everything I could and couldn't have and made sure that we did not have anything unsafe for us! This place is amazing, we will be back for sure!! read more

The girl Grace took my order, then proceeded to be scooping the wrong ice-cream for my husband's milkshake (who is home recovering from surgery and wanted a milkshake). Then Grace disappears for about 5 minutes or so. Now mind you I had also had already waited in line for about 25 minutes. I am disabled and still went out to get my husband a milkshake. We'll after waiting for Grace to come back. She tells me that they are out of milkshake lids and no more milkshakes. They didn't announce it to everyone, just me. They could have used a soda lid. So now she messed up on the flavor of the milkshake and now no milkshakes supposedly. Then she had the nerve to tell the owner that I yelled at her and slammed their door when I left. It was freaking hot outside and in the heat, doors expand and makes it harder to close. So give me a break! They never have managers there either. My family and I have been coming there for at least 4 years. And now after I get this holier than thou message from supposedly the owner. They have definitely lost my business. I don't need lies told to me or religion down my throat. Here is the message from the Owner to me: "Hello Jennifer, I've taken some time to ponder over your message before responding. Our little business means the world to me and we never aim to do anything that will make people unhappy and ultimately nothing that would make God unhappy with us. Last night I received a message from the girls at the shop that they had run out of milkshake lids and a customer had slammed the door and left. I quickly responded with several suggestions of what they might have done to prevent that because, as I mentioned, we aim to please! I was disappointed that they hadn't, in the moment, seen another solution. Then I got your message and my perception of the situation shifted. It is heartbreaking to hear that someone who professes to be regular supporters of our business would vow to never return over one negative experience. Of course we wanted you to be able to enjoy a sweet treat especially in times of sickness and recovery, that's what we are here for! I've spoken with Grace and in her words she was "shaken up" and "wished she had thought of a solution sooner." To which I responded, "It's hard to problem solve when you're being yelled at." And that's what it comes down to, doesn't it? I don't know of many people how are able to see a clear soluntion to a problem when they are being yelled at, especially children. The message that you are presenting to the world on your FB page is Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you. And Never Judge anyone till you know all the facts. It is my opinion that in a moment of weakness you forgot to live by those words. I'm sorry for your trials. I have them too! You are not perfect and neither am I. Should I have been better stocked with milkshake lids, absolutely! Should you have treated others with more kindess, 100%! Things could have gone differently last night. I believe that you could have made it home with that milkshake for your husband if you had had just a bit of grace for Grace." Instead of solving the situation, the owner made it look like it was my fault they were out of lids and that it was my fault for everything. Excuse me? No as a worker at an establishment, you find solutions. Grace chose to work there. I didn't yell and I didn't slam the damn door. Unless the owner was there, NEVER MAKE ASSUMPTIONS AND THE OWNER HAD NO RIGHT THROWING RELIGION IN MY FACE!!
