Simons Says Dip This was a bit of a miss for us. We might have gone on an off day - there was a heavy sewage smell inside which was immediately unappetizing and no A/C, but luckily it was a nice enough day to take our cones to go and eat outside. I was a bit surprised to find that the only ice cream base option was vanilla. However, there are a variety of cores (filling), dips, and toppings options to jazz it up. I went for chocolate dip, toffee topping, and espresso drizzle. It was honestly just okay. The ice cream quality rivaled a dipped cone you could get at Dairy Queen, especially because it comes on the basic sugar cone. Because it's a hard shell, it gets eaten pretty quickly before you finish all of the ice cream. Once the shell is gone, you're left with just plain vanilla ice cream. The concept is cool, but at nearly $10 for a dipped cone with toppings, it's underwhelming and overpriced. read more

Stopped by Simons Says Dip This and was a bit disappointed overall. When you arrive there is parking available in the parking garage across the street or on the street. Walking into the ice cream shop there was a terrible sewage smell, along with the ac being out which made it difficult to enjoy even being in the shop. To order we walked up to the counter and ordered two of the special cones highlighted above. I ordered the Dulce de leche special and my partner ordered the Coffee Toffee Crunch. The Vanilla ice cream appeared to be the only base and the overall flavor was very sweet on the dulce de leche. The cone reminded me of the vanilla soft serve from a fast food restaurant. I'm not sure if I would return as this really isn't my style of dessert. Glad we finally were able to try this ice cream shop. read more

I went later in the afternoon on a chilly day- I was the only one in line- I got the non- dairy filled with pistachio, dipped in pistachio with pistachios on top. I will say this time there was only a bite of pistachio inside- he was having trouble putting it in - the time before was so much better. I've visited this location a few times before and always have a good experience. This time, I ordered a peanut butter dip in a bowl with Reese's Pieces. My daughter ordered on of their stuffed cookies, the Dubai Chocolate Croissant. She raved about it. The owner was there during our last visit. He is always so friendly and helpful. They share their space with a yoga studio so the entrance is the same. A lovely treat post your workout. I ordered a kid's cup soft serve with pistachio core and cookie butter shell, no toppings. It was good very simple but a nice post dinner treat. My friend ordered hers and had asked for a kinder bueno shell but got the cookie butter by accident. It is a little on the pricier side for being ~$7 for something with no toppings (if you don't include the dipped shell). Super cute spot with unique soft serve dip options and super friendly service. Vanilla is the only base flavor, but the dips, toppings and core options are plentiful. I had the pistachio dipped cone and it was good. The ice cream is extra creamy, like if cool whip made ice cream, this would be it. The dip stayed soft, which is the way I like it. The only thing I would change is the price - $7 for dipped soft serve is a lot and it gets more expensive if you add toppings. read more

I have visited the Durham location but this was my first time at this location. The business is located next to a yoga business. I was greeted when I walked in by the male owner. He asked if I had been there before and I told him that I had been to the other location. The shop was decorated very nicely with several tables and chairs inside. After deciding what I wanted I placed my order. I got a cookie butter dipped cone with a caramel core. I also got a brookie cookie for later. My cookie was nicely wrapped and put inside of a cute bag. The cookie was thick and very moist with a hint of salt. It was still soft the next day. I enjoyed the cookie more than my cone. I loved the cookie butter dip but my ice cream started melting really, really quick. read more

I originally found Simon Says from a Yelp Elite event, otherwise, I would have never known about this cool little ice cream shop! Simon Says is in the city center of Raleigh, so you may get lucky with street parking or just suck up the high parking fees in the parking garages. If you're already in the area, Simon Says Dip This is a great addition to your itinerary in the city, especially on a hot day. Their ice cream is really good and the dips are unique and unlike anything we have in Wake Forest. However, it's the half pound cookies that have me wanting to come back! They taste homemade and were perfectly baked. Crumbl, move out of the way! Simon Says Dip This has MUCH better cookies, omg. I had the Dubai Chocolate cookie and the Chocolate Lave cookie. So good...came here 2 nites in a row! Creamy, smooth and rich ice cream. Crazy-good dips and toppings. Tonight was Key Lime dip with strawberry toppings. My son had a chocolate and brownie combination which was pitch perfect. Nathan (proprietor) happily shared his ice cream expertise with us too. Super friendly and warm service team. Went in for a late night treat. They have a ton of options for the base, core, dips and toppings. I went with the Dulce de Leche Cheesecake and it was incredible. The ice cream is creamy, the core was stuffed with dulce de leche, dipped in cheesecake and topped with Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I went with the cone but unless you eat your ice cream quickly I'd suggest going with the cup, it melts fast! They also have stuffed cookies and freeze dried candies. Tried this place and it was nice and cute inside, clean and friendly. Good and plenty of options for dips and toppings but sadly only vanilla as the option for ice cream. They did have dairy free vanilla though which was really cool and wasn't expecting. Was so excited to see Simon Says Dip This open up in Raleigh since it's more accessible to us. Location is a bit hard to find since it is tucked back but it is spacious & with a nice shared outdoor seating area. As you could see from the menu, there's so many different t combinations you could make plus there's something for everyone. You could tell that the dips and toppings were carefully thought out & created. They were very flavorful. I loved the black sesame dip & it was perfect with the candied coconut! I also had my eye on the half pound cookies...They had a Dubai Chocolate one but unfortunately they were sold out that night. This place is my favorite ice cream place! I've always loved drumsticks from the store with the filling, dipped in chocolate, with the cookies on the outside and now I get to make my own with their homemade dips!!! The owner Nathan is always there when we go to the Raleigh location and he is so nice and those cookies are SOOOOO GOOD. You have to try the brookie and the Dubai cookie.
