Originally found Pelican on our Nextdoor site, where they were the highest recommended window company in our neighborhood. My wife and sister in law were present when Tim, the owner, showed up for the estimate. They were so impressed with his demeanor, product knowledge, that I knew this would would be our window install company of choice. Tim communicated very well, getting back to us in a timely manner and always answering our questions to help us feel totally comfortable in moving forward with them. Pelican Windows did a great job replacing our old wooden single hung windows. We had four bid proposals, and theirs was the lowest - fairest. Evan was great. He took the time to explain the process, and went over all the details while he was at the house. After thinking about it for a day or so, we went to their showroom so we could make the selection between two brands. The Milgard Style Line was the perfect choice for us. When the day came for the install, they were on time, friendly, and courteous. The old ones came out without a hitch, and the new windows went in without any problems. They cleaned up as they went along, and the two technicians installed nine windows in about six hours. Evan showed up at the end and rolled up his sleeves to help knock out a few last minute details. He answered all of my questions. I had a wish list as well as a list of what needed to be done. He talked me through the whole process and what would be needed for the "wish list". Contacted Pelican with no result. The company we had install our Milgard windows and doors had retired and given all their files over to Pelican and referred us to contact them with any need. I did. We wanted a new patio screen door with the Milgard frame. The first woman took my information in order to locate our file. Never heard back from her. I called back two weeks later and yes they had located our file and she would refer it to to customer rep. I waited another week or two and called again, a different woman said that the file had been given and she was to call me when she had an estimate. Have never heard and it's been a month. I understand if this screen with Milgard frame was too small a job for them but to never hear back is bad business, very bad business. Would never recommend this company to anyone wanting new windows or doors EVER!! read more

Our landlords decided to use Pelican Windows to replace all of the windows in our rental home. Never before have I seen more unprofessional and unacceptable work and customer care. They ruined our coffee table (which they took two weeks to repay us for) and a two day job has taken 3 fulls days (spaced over two weeks) and we are being told we have to wait another month till it can be finished (two months total from start to maybe finish). We have had to call multiple times before we even got the hopefully finish date. Windows came with malfunctions that keep needing to be replaced and windows were the incorrect size from the beginning. While the windows we have look decent the wait, phone calls, and ruined personal items have made this company one of the worst I have ever dealt with. read more

We were referred to Pelican Windows by a glass replacement company who could not complete our job as needed. I had to reschedule twice and the receptionist was very friendly and understanding. When Evan, the representative for Pelican came out to do an estimate on my garden window, he showed up on time, was instantly warm and friendly and professional. He explained to me the difficulties of replacing a garden window that was built into the stucco and countertop. Aside from doing a complete tear out, Pelican unfortunately could not guarantee the job. Although this news was disappointing, Evan was very thorough in explaining our options and discussed some ideas with us on how to find a contractor that might be able to help us with this. Our experience in purchasing new windows from Pelican Replacement Window Company in Vista, California, was very positive. It started with a recommendation from neighbors to meet with Rico, a Pelican sales representative. However, by the time we met him we had educated ourselves to talking to representatives from two other companies. We liked him from the start because he was not pushy or overbearing, listened to our needs, answered our many questions and asked us questions. He compared several window manufacturing companies and we concluded, with him, that Milgard's Trinsic product best met our needs. Then came the installation team. Isa, the team leader, had his men there on time all three days that the installation required for our 31 windows. They removed blinds to install the new windows and re-hung them upon completion. No window on which they worked that day was left unfinished. At the end of the day the team cleaned the work area and made sure no debris was lying around. When furniture had to be moved, it was replaced at the end of the day. The men knew their job, were polite and professional. After the installation was completed, Isa checked all of the windows and made sure that they operated smoothly. Isa made sure that we were aware of the various features of our new windows and knew how they worked. He checked the completed work down to the finest detail. In fact, he found one manufacturer's error which we probably would not have noticed. It required the manufacturer to send a replacement window. The original replacement window was removed and the correct one installed in short order. In sum, we recommend Pelican Windows wholeheartedly to everyone who needs new windows. read more

I had 4 quotes and they beat almost all of them, but I went with them because my friends used them and were happy with them. They didn't make a mess which was big for me as I am particular about my home getting dirty. Their office staff was also very nice and helpful. The windows look so much better than what we had. We can tell is has cut down on noise and will hopefully provide better insulation than the old single pane windows we had from the 80's. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. This is the very best contractor I have encountered in my lifetime, 78 years. I only rate the lowest and the highest. I don't waste my time on average work, but I feel I have a moral obligation to rate inferior work or products. The owner, Tim Skeer, gave me a no pressure estimate for three windows and a glass sliding door for the master bedroom. The figure included windows, door, installation, and taxes. I love the bottom line approach. I also asked for separate estimates for glass sliding doors for the living/dining room and a large glass sliding door for the family room. Finally I asked for a separate estimate for two glass sliding windows for the living/dining room. He indicated the prices wouldn't change even if I did the project in segments. I was so impressed with cost of the estimates that I decided to do them all at once. The two day installation was completed this past Friday by a team of outstanding professionals headed by George, When they completed the project and cleaned up I couldn't find a speck of dust anywhere inside or out. As a former military man I always emphasized the need for teamwork. I saw that in action with this team. After they completed the project I told my wife to take a good look at the windows and doors because she would never see them this clean again. Hiring contractors is sometimes a crap shoot - there's a lot of idiots out there that can't keep appointments, are late, do poor work, etc. Not Pelican. My window installation had a minor bump in the road. One of the windows had scratches in it from the Milgard factory. His Staff are very easy to converse with and all are true professionals. Pelican installers are great and their work is at the top of their trade.
