Peking Garden was honestly a bit of a disappointment. My girlfriend and I ordered the chicken with snow peas, sesame shrimp, wonton soup, crabmeat rangoons, and beef lo mein. Starting with the better items, the sesame shrimp was decent. The breading was a little unusual, but it had good flavor. Still, nothing that really stood out. The crab rangoons were also just okay. They were labeled as crabmeat cheese rangoon's, but after eating a few, it was apparent that there was no crab at all, just cheese, which was pretty disappointing. They were honestly some of the worst I have tried. The wonton soup was not great either. It did not taste like wonton soup I have had before and was also sort of bland. That said, it was still edible. Now for the bigger issues. The chicken with snow peas was extremely bland, like no seasoning was added at all. The chicken itself was watery and tasted very cheap, which made the whole dish pretty unappetizing. The beef lo mein had the same problem. I have never had lo mein this flavorless before. The noodles and beef both lacked any real taste and just did not come together well. The last thing I will say is that it is overpriced for what you get. The portion sizes are solid, but the flavor and quality do not match the price at all. I am not someone who usually criticizes restaurants or even leaves reviews, but this was a major letdown. Foods - Wonton Soup: 2/5 hot almost salty water with a mushy wonton in it, not something I'd order without the lunch special - Fried Rice: 2/5 very tasteless needs a lot of seasoning - Egg roll: 3/5 hot and crispy but again no taste, just cabbage inside - Kung Pao Trio: 3.5/5 nice presentation, crispy vegetables. Meat is mushy, but shrimp actually decent. Not really spicy, but a solid salty sauce I suppose. Value: 5/5, impossible to find a $10 lunch option in 2025. I've ordered carry-out and delivery from them multiple times and am always impressed by how piping hot the food is! The employees are very friendly and efficient and overall I would describe my experience with Peking Garden as "reliable". As far as the food goes, I haven't been blown away by anything, but also haven't had any bad experiences. Some of the food can be a little bland, but I just toss on some soy sauce and I'm a happy camper. There are tons of vegetarian and GF options, and the price really can't be beat - especially with the free delivery within 3 miles - so between the cost, convenience, and service, it's an easy 5 stars from me even with the adequate food. Wasn't impressed at all by the food here. Ordered vegetable chow mein and got absolutely NO noodles.... Why do they even call it chow mein here??? Also the rice is dry and so are the vegetable rolls we got too.... Waste of money and not a great dinner at all, won't be coming back here. I always pass by this place when leaving the dentist and decided that I was going to stop and grab something to go. I opted for kung poa triple delight, which is my favorite everywhere and I have to say that it's still my favorite here at this restaurant as well. I also got fried rice and crab wontons, it was all delicious and I'm so glad I ordered from here. The dinner plate was enough to get 2 dinners out of it. I ordered online which was pretty easy and when I went in to pick it up the lady behind the counter was nice, she greeted me as soon as I walked in and told me my order would be out in just a minute. Worst Chinese I've ever had. The "fried rice" has nothing in it it's just plain rice with what looks like soy sauce, and has no flavor. I called to ask if we got brown rice by mistake and the employee ( who was very rude) said that's how it comes unless you order a separate order by itself. The Chow Mein is like nothing I've ever seen, made with wide beef stroganoff noodles and also completely flavorless. We got two orders of Crab Rangoons with no crab that were so tiny and like everything else, flavorless. On top of that the food was not properly packed and leaked all over everything so all the condiments and boxes were sticky and messy. Ordered food using door dash. Added special instructions on order (as there is an option to do so). Received order without substitution. When called the restaurant they said "that would have cost more". Explained that would have been fine if they had reached out to me or the door dasher or could have poted fpr original item. Told her I could drive over to pick it up and she was rude saying I'd needed to reorder and pay extra. Mind you I have half an order already. Absolutely love this place. Been a consistent customer since 2018 and really can't get enough. Can't go wrong with the sesame or orange chicken, and the dinner specials are reliably filling for a reasonable price. I have become an enormous fan of the 5 Happiness Pork, as well. Service has always been absolutely excellent and their delivery times to the places I've lived in the Golden area have never been a problem for me (30-40min). Tried this for the first time tonight. And I think it will be a solid takeout option for us. The service was great. The woman on the phone was friendly and actually took the time to read my order back to me, which seems unusual these days. The woman at the restaurant when we picked up our food was extremely friendly.... Probably the same woman. The food. The fried dumplings and the lo mein were delicious! we ordered dinners with appetizers and included pan fried noodles after having ordered a few times before. Every time our food has been different, even tho we always ordered the same thing. This last time, was the WORST! Usually it doesn't take very long to get our food, but this time, We didn't get even half of what we ordered, none of the spring rolls or egg rolls, and what we did get was a HUGE disappointment, food was horrid, unable to eat it! Of course, when we tried to call and let the restaurant know, our call went unanswered! Our noodles were burnt, way overcooked, not even the right type of noodles (at least not what we got before - lol) They came out of the container in one big burnt clump. SAD! I've lived in Golden for about 3 years now and I've had my ups and downs with this place. The first year I tried it a few times and wasn't happy BUT they've changed their ways! The food is so good. But the delivery and service of it all was bad. I called in and ordered. The lady said it would be 45 mins to a hour for delivery after she changed my card.i mean whatever. A hour and 20 mins later I call 10 times to finally get ahold of someone to ask about my order, Anyway as soon as i got a hold of someone they where at the door. 1.5 hours later....ok. So the guy didnt get a tip. But when i opened the bag up to eat. I find I was missing 1/4 of my food. Like really... I called to comeplain... When I travel to Denver quite often I stay in a hotel in the Denver West area. And when I've had enough Chick-Fil-A I start looking for other food choices. Peking Garden, thanks to the Yelp app was an unexpected find, and one that has earned my repeat business. They will deliver but if you're impatient or want to get out of your hotel room and drive over there the place looks kind of sketchy, especially at night. It's really not sketchy at all, and just ignore what it looks like on the outside. When you step inside you can expect service with a smile, a reasonable wait time while your order is prepared, and you'll find the place is clean as well. But it's all about the food, and from Kung Pao Chicken to Sweet and Sour Pork, eggrolls that actually taste fresh, not frozen, and crab wontons instead of cream cheese ones, we've never had a bad experience here. This is one of my failsafe food choices. I'm really picky about what I eat especially when I'm traveling or flying in and out of somewhere. The last thing i want is to get sick on a flight out but I've never, not once had a problem after eating here. I was in Golden and it was lunch time so I stopped at Peking Garden and order Pork Lo Mein. I got it to go and when I got home and took two tries, I couldn't eat it and I hope I don't get sick. The pork was rubbery and I believe under cooked. When I called I was told to bring it back but I live in Littleton. Too far. I work in Golden and can come back during the week to get something else. She wanted day & time & for me to bring the "food" back! Then to make it worse, she asked what I wanted and I said Sesame Shrimp. I figured at least I know what I am eating.
