As always customer service was amazing! This location was busy - it was lunch hour around 12pm.. but there were only 2 guys working and you would think they had an entire crew. They handled all the order and the TOGO orders quickly! The restaurant was clean.. they were friendly .. food was great! We did get the Lettuce wraps which are my favorite item @ $8.99 plenty for two people to snack on. Even better the next day. This concerns Basse Rd store in Lincoln Park HEB parking lot. Thurs. 7PM online pickup order. 5 Stars. Waiting at the minute of 7PM, packaged very well for travel. Super Hot. Cutlery included. Sauce packs included. In my Austin Hwy/Broadway corridor in San Antonio, there are big social issues with quick service restaurant staff-- for instance, the Sonic, Popeyes, and McDonalds are not usable on Austin Hwy. It creates a problem. But no more: this Pei Wei is my new place. I liked it so much I looked up what public company owns it so I could invest. It's privately owned. That may be the key to its quality. These guys did well enough to go out of my way to give a positive review. Thanks so much. read more

Food quality has drastically declined. Use to be our go to place but the service and food are now subpar. Overcooked noodles. "Saucy" dishes with very little flavor. Rice overcooked and dry. Chicken lettuce wraps were good with plenty of lettuce. I ordered spicy (wasn't) with double sauce, and I mixed in packets of mustard and sambar oelek)...very good. Pei Wei is a hidden fast food restaurant secret. They are very tasty and cooked right there on the spot. They are the same price as Panda Express but taste, flavor, and all around great than your average fast food Chinese place. They make it as you order it so the food is not prepared and sitting like you get at Panda or mall Chinese food. I say go to Pei Wei and experience it for yourself. Your gonna be surprised by it. Sis and I had planned all week to go to the Pei Wei for lunch but when we got out of cars we were informed by a road worker out front not to start our cars as they had ruptured a gas line and boy could we smell it. We ran to the door and started pounding for someone to open the door so we could inform them to shut off their gas. Richard, the mgr, came to the door and had us come in as the fumes of the gas was really bad. He asked Vanessa, the front staff, to fix us anything we wanted and to stay in there until the area was cleared to go. Richard put sign on the door that the gas had been turned off so they could not cook any food. Sis and I really enjoyed our food and they courtesy that was given to us by Richard and Venessa. read more

New management sucks at the Pei Wei, there are no more slaves in this world. The higher management is prejudice against original staff. Everyone hours are cut.The atmosphere sucks. I refuse to eat there now. A good manager would work as a team player while carrying out management role as well, that promotes growth and stability and builds trust with staff. Cutting staff hours and threats could lead to staff turnover and loss of business revenue. I started out in food business and oh how it has become a money making scheme not caring about employees but only productivity and numbers. What kind of people we have running things. I often visit Pei Wei during the week for lunch or on Saturdays with my friend. The the food is always fresh and so tasty. I haven't visited the other locations since I really enjoy this Basse Road location. The place is always nice and clean, the area where the condiments and sodas area is also very clean and Mr. Mark who always comes by our table asking if we enjoyed our meal and keeps the place in tip top shape. We tried a variety of dishes and shared them all. Everything was delicious. The bourbon chicken was my favorite and I added it to the take-away for another family member who could not join us at the restaurant. Our server Mark was courteous, personable and friendly. He was more like a gracious host than a server. The restaurant was clean, but not fancy. The great tasting food and variety definitely warrant a return visit.
