I ordered online for a pick up order for my work. I placed my order for 15 Teriyaki Chickens and 16 egg rolls. The food was hot and fresh! When I arrived the restaurant was open and just getting busy. The manager, verified my order and helped me to the car with the entries. Tonight, we headed to Pei Wei for dinner. The Feast option caught our eye, which gives us variety and plenty of food to eat. We chose the Lettuce Wrap and 3 entrees: Honey Seared Chicken, Grilled Bourbon Chicken, and Orange Chicken. We got a mix of brown and steamed rice. The pumpkin spice donuts were good. Absolutely amazing experience. The food came out fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. The pad thai was perfectly balanced and the curry had just the right amount of spice. First time visiting any Pei Wei & Ordered Firecracker chicken and lettuce wrap with a drink. The serve was very nice and told her it was my first time. She took the time and explained most of their famous menu and decided on the above food. Food was hot and delicious! Server was very attentive and often clean tables as soon as customers left. The place looks very clean and plenty of tables and chairs to accommodate any size party. The guys in the kitchen (see photo), can be seeing cooking/hearing your food so they aren't hiding behind a wall or anything. I like this because I can see what they are doing before getting my meal. As I continue to rediscover restaurants that I have not been to in many years (before Covid), Pei Wei came shining through. It is near where we live and we really liked our food. My husband and I both had the feasts so we could have leftovers. I got the Bourbon chicken and Sesame chicken and my husband got the spicy Gen. Tso's. Both feasts were delicious. Even the broccoli in the meal was quite tasty and not tough as they can be sometimes. The crab macaroons and the donuts with icing in a cup rounded out our feasts and they also were pretty good. I am giving Pei Wei 5 stars for the following reasons: 1- Kyle, who took our order and brought out our food, was one of the friendliest people I've ever encountered here. 2- The Kung Pao Chicken is delicious and the only thing I have raved about here. Yes, a lot of the entrees are mediocre or disappointing, but not this. It's fantastic and full of flavor. Authentic? I've been to the Huebner restaurant, but since it closed down, I drove to this location to pick up a dish to go. I chose the Spicy Drunken Noodles. I always prefer spicy food, but this dish was way TOO spicy! I only ate about half of it, but did not enjoy it at all. I was pretty disappointed because I drove out of my way to get my Asian food at Pei Wei. UPDATE: I called and talked to the Mgr. and she was very pleasant and offered to make me another dish. I went back today and took back the previous dish and ordered the Chicken Teriyaki with fried rice which was really good. It was nice to see that Pei Wei cares about their customers satisfaction. read more

First time here. Should have read reviews first. Tax on non alcoholic beverage.....this was a separate line item .21cents on top of a $2.79 beverage that was a small/med cup. So they are grabbing for every penny, as I have not seen this anywhere else, ever. I also ordered bourbon chicken, fried rice, and crab wontons (4)pc. Wontons we're blan. No cream cheese? No seasoning inside? Could barely tell it was crab. The fried rice which I paid $2.19 to upgrade from white rice was floating in the bourbon sauce. So and can't even tell you if it was any good. I can tell you it tasted like a auger bomb The chicken was cooked well and tasted good with the sauce. To say I couldn't finish it all is not a compliment. read more

We walked in & the computer system had just gone down. We waited a little while & then asked if we could just relay our order to the cook. They said that we could. So, we did that. Rixy took our order & Anchoir made our food. He took the bell peppers out of my Thai Coconut curry dish & I really appreciated that. The flavor was hot but I loved the creamy coconut flavor! Shrimp were cooked perfectly. Kung Pao Shrimp packed just the right amount of heat. The veggies were cooked just right & we love the peanuts! Rixy & Anchoir were both friendly. We used to dine at Pei Wei here & in Lincoln Heights all of the time but then the Lincoln Heights screwed up our to go orders over & over again. So, we quit giving them our business. As much as I wanna give these guys a positive review I Can't. I went in one night, just to get some food, we ordered it online. We were told to pick it up at a certain time. However, when we showed up, they hadn't even started the order. When I ask them they couldn't figure out where it was. I continued to sit there and wait, and no one would really answer any more questions. It seemed like they were all fighting as well. Eventually, I got my food and of course it was wrong. However, I did not go back because I did not believe it was worth the time it would take to get the right food. The food I had did taste OK but as you can tell, the service was terrible. The restaurant itself looked fairly clean & I might eat there again if my wife goes and picks up the food, but I will not order on line again. It was not worth my time. read more

Steamed and Fried dumplings - yes we got both - both were amazing. Orange chicken - Off the chain delicious - chicken was moist and the flavor amazing Sweet and sour chicken - tender and delicious! If the food can taste this good when they are literally hammered by tables and pickups... I can only imagine what it tastes like in the steady hum of a regular evening.

Main dish were Moo Shu Pork and Mongolian beef. Soup came out first...it was lukewarm. Cup was hot but soup was lukewarm. It was vinegary and salty. This is the first time I had seen/tasted imitation crab meat in a hot and sour soup. I'd flag the waitress down to let her know the soup was cold and if she can bring me another or warm it up for me. She gave me an annoying look and took the soup back to the kitchen. The Asian bbq ribs come out then the shrimp toast a few minutes later. The shrimp toast looks appealing. The shrimp were whole shrimp on top of bread, fried bread. It was ok...no real taste and a bit greasy. There were too much honey and chewy/tough for the Asian ribs. My soup comes back hot to touch... which means it was microwave...but not an issues; what was is ...it was still lukewarm soup. I try to finish it but couldn't. Soup needs to be hot; especially hot & sour soup. The chicken lettuce wrap was delivered. It was again salty; no real taste, except for the salt. A lot of mushrooms over powering the this dish. Keep in mind we had a small table and dishes are pilling up. It took a few before anyone came to pickup the plates. Half way through our appetizer, the waitress dropped off Togo boxes with a bag right after the chicken wrap was dropped off.... Staying it's for later. So we went ahead and packup the appetizers into the Togo boxes to make room. The main dishes came out about 10 minutes later. My daughter was very surprised by her Mongolian beef. It looks more like pepper steak then Mongolian beef. Most Mongolian beef are cook with green onions, yellow onion, garlic, sesame seeds and large slices of beef...some with a little sauce other dry so this is a the first for us to see a Mongolian beef looks like that. It was again too salty. There was more bell pepper than beef. The beef was slice small. The moo shu pork come out already wrap?? Which confuse me. Most of the time the thin rice pancake is on the side and moo shu pork is a little sweet and savory that comes with plum sauce so you can spread as little or lot of plum sauce into the rice pancake then top it off with moo shu pork. Since it was all roll up...it was very messy trying to pull it open to put the plum sauce. The dish lack favors...it had a char like taste. Usually moo shu pork is very flavorful and fill with flavorful juice from the ingredients like cabbages, bamboo, onion, mushrooms and eggs. There was no favor except a char taste. I have eaten here before a long time ago and it's definitely not the same taste/food and experience. We pack the food home so we can get a second opinion from other family members and the results were the same. I would never recommend for anyone looking for Asian cuisine. But if you like America/Asian cuisine/atmosphere then this is a place for you.
