I was hesitant to eat here because I came for dinner and I was the only one in the restaurant, but I was glad I still stayed and ate. I ordered the pad Thai and a boba tea. The boba tea was delicious, I let it sit while I ate so that ended up being my dessert. The chicken pad Thai I ordered hot and it came hot! Love the flavors and the portions were decent for the price you're paying. Although no one else came in to eat at the restaurant I see how they stay in business because they had uber and door dash drivers coming by constantly to pick up food orders. I ordered the combo fried rice (spice level 5) & a boba. They were both great. The fried rice had beef, chicken, shrimp, & fresh basil. The service was ok as they only had one person waiting all tables. The inside is cute and functional. This restaurant is a nice neighborhood Thai spot. I absolutely love this place and I wish there were more people coming to this location. If I could give a title to this review it would be "Red Hot Chili Peppers." We walked in on a cold rainy day and were glad to be seated immediately after seeing how crowded Chuy's was for National Margarita day. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and they were playing relaxing ambient music which made the environment feel like a spa waiting room. I was in the mood for soup and my favorite Thai soup is Tom Kha Kai with a coconut milk base which I was glad to see they had. I got the large and was disappointed they did not have a hot pot for it, however the soup still stayed piping hot through the whole meal just in the bowl which was impressive. I ordered a spicy level one on their scale of 1-5 spicy and quickly found out I should have ordered a 0 instead. I'm a wimp when it comes to spice so I thought a spicy level one would be safe but their version of a one was definitely more aggressive. I was able to finish most of it though because it was a very delicious and stayed the perfect temperature throughout the meal. The lemongrass and ginger took center stage in the flavors and while I would have preferred less ginger, all the flavors worked well together. Some of the chili flakes were quite large and would get me in the back of the throat at times which made me cough but not enough to stop enjoying it. The waitress was very sweet and said they could remake the soup for me if I needed but I'm no quitter and decided to power through. My fiancé loves spice and is usually disappointed with the highest levels of spice at other restaurants but was completely satiated with the spicy level 5 at his restaurant. I'll definitely go back but know better now to order a spicy level one or higher if I need to clear my throat. read more

This Thai Hut is a far-off-the-mark version of the one you find on 1604. I could not recommended this at all, here's why: My wife ordered the laab, a dish we both know very well. I ordered the yellow curry and a papaya salad, the spiciest level that they have. Again, both dishes we know and have had at the other Thai Hut. They couldn't be further different. The laab had almost none of the seasoning you would find in the typical dish you'd get at any Thai restaurant. It was full of gristle and fatty parts that were not appetizing in the slightest. They also charge $15 for a small plate! The yellow curry was very disappointing. I had maybe 5-10 slices of beef in my curry and was served only a small bowl for $16! The service was just about non-existent. We sent back the laab after a few bites and we were still charged for it! The server did not come to check on us, and did not offer any discount for the poor quality of food. When you're paying $15 a plate, you'd expect food to be of a good quality. Thai Hut is a nice new edition to the area. I stopped in on a Monday at lunchtime. Upon entering I was surprised by two things 1)The pleasant, slightly upscale decor and 2)the mini market. The decor is very cute with lots of real and artificial plants including fake wisteria hanging from the ceiling which adds a whimsical touch. The mini mart is a great idea as this area doesn't offer many ethnic grocery stores. Another thing I really like was that the menu had pictures. This is a big help in visualizing type of noodles used etc. In addition to Thai food, the menu also offers Chinese dishes and a wide selection of food and drinks for the kiddos. I also had a chance to visit the restroom which was updated and clean. Soft piano music played in the restaurant which gave it a very relaxing, white tablecloth type feel. My fried rice was very good. Mild as requested. Very well seasoned but not salty. They used whole basil leaves. I liked the flavor but picked most of them out. The flower on the plating was a nice touch. Given the great food, friendly service and atmosphere, I can highly recommend Thai Hut! read more

Great authentic Thai food. I recommend the Thai Hut Fried Rice with chicken. I get it Thai Hot and it's amazing.

Only based on one order, but won't even bother trying this subpar Thai restaurant again. The pad Thai was ok, albeit basic. The issue was the sesame "chicken" aka, 3/4 breading 1/4 tough, chewy chicken in some of the pieces. The sauce was also strangely thick - too much corn starch perhaps? I had to throw most of it out because even the breading was bland and chewy. The cream cheese puffs were ok - roll like egg rolls vs. a wonton but decent. Main takeaway: cheap meat here and they are clearly trying to save on food costs with tiny portions of the good stuff and too-high prices for mediocre food. read more

The food was really solid - great cook on the proteins, flavorful sauces, big portions, and reasonably priced We got the drunken noodles, pad Thai, spring rolls, and pad see yew and all the dishes were really tasty! Best Thai food since our family left San Diego. We walked in very unsure and hesitant and by the time we were done with our meal, Thai Hut made it on our list of our Go To spots. We had the spring rolls, the pad thai, pad see ew and the drunken noodles and it was all VERY good and well prepared. (My wife lived in Thailand for quite some time and knows how each of these items should taste)... bonus, our kids even loved it. I went when there was a soft opening a couple of weeks ago and the portion size was adequate . I went again a few weeks later and they changed the portion size for the regular entree. I even ordered Uber eats the next day , maybe they made a mistake the day before..nope! See photos. Im so sorry but this is not worth $22.00 ( not including the delivery fees) of dinner. Thai Hut is back! Well for this side of town anyway and currently in soft opening lol. I have missed the quality food that they have. The green curry and chicken dumplings were yummy! The rice soup is so savory as well. I had the chicken green curry with medium spice and it was perfect. It was smooth and warm for a cold San Antonio night. And they have boba tea! I guess my daughter will be stopping by here a lot. Staff is super friendly and this location has a small nook that you can buy some Thai groceries. Super cute! Disappointed. I was so excited for a Thai restaurant with marked gluten free pad thai to be near us as I have a gluten intolerance. Ordered our food for takeout... this is what I got. Plain, naked noodles. No sauce in sight. And the beef had an awful taste to it, like it had been thawed or left out too long. Gluten free sauce isn't hard to come by (especially with a Sprouts across the street!) and typically pad thai is gluten free, so all around disappointed in the experience. read more

(As someone else mentioned, the cheese rolls look like egg rolls vs. traditional crab rangoon won ton-like thingies. The drunken noodles had an orange sauce vs. a brown sauce.) Not sure what was going on but when I got my food they did not bring my husband's. No explanation. He told me to eat so mine would not get cold. When I was done eating, they still had not brought my husband's food!! Finally another server said something about the ticket was folded and they did not see the other order.
