First time last time. Objectively speaking the food was really good. Had the catfish Poboy lunch…read morespecial half Poboy and it comes with three nice pieces of catfish and a well prepared tasty lunch paired with fries and drink. Good bargain. Unfortunately, the restaurant industry is not just about product, but about service and service was lacking. 21 minutes before receiving the Poboy and no napkins nor utensils provided. Waitress never checked on us to see if we were enjoying the meal or if there's anything else we needed. (including refills on our drinks.). It was only when someone came from the back./kitchen, was I able to grab the attention of someone to get these things. Since it was my parents who insisted I try this place I offered to bring them something and so I ordered a Poboy and onion rings to go. Unfortunately, when I got to their house, the only thing in the box was the poor boy. Of course there is also the obligatory minimum 18% tip that's put in front of you by the waitress.(which of course includes all food, including the to go order.). Trust when I say, as a born and bred West Banker who no longer lives in the area. I really want to see this place too well especially since there's a previous bond and connection to the original Sal's. Unfortunately today's visit missed the mark.

The chicken was seriously to die for. You could tell it had been marinated really well because every bite was incredibly juicy, tender, and packed with flavor not just seasoned on the outside. The breading had a great crispy crunch, and paired with the warm waffles, powdered sugar, and syrup, it was the perfect combination of savory and sweet. The chicken was definitely the star of the plate, though. Whatever they're using in that marinade, they need to keep doing it! I would absolutely order this again. If you're heading to Lefort's for Sunday brunch, put the chicken and waffles at the top of your list.

I really miss when Bozo's was at this location…read more... So EVERY other location of Mr. Ed's I've eaten at has been really great and I've always enjoyed it. I avoided coming to this location for quite awhile as I had always liked Bozo's which was at this location before so it seemed too weird to visit here for a long time. So finally in 2022 I decided to make a visit here. It did take a bit of adjustment as it was so different yet still had some of the bones of Bozo's still present. I had high expectations from my prior visits to other Mr. Ed's locations but sadly they really disappointed me here. My first visit I ordered seafood gumbo, crawfish bread and trout almondine. The seafood gumbo barely had any seafood in it, the crawfish bread was VERY cheesy but barely any crawfish were to be found, the trout almondine was EXTREMELY dry and tough as leather. My next visit several months later I tried the Redfish Amanda which had a VERY cold topping of crawfish etouffee on top of it which really ruined the experience. I also found the portion sizes here to be very small for the price they charged compared to other seafood joints in the area and from my experience at other Mr. Ed's locations. The service was also sadly below mediocre and my servers seemed to really not care when I told them of my issues with my food. At his point I wasn't willing to even go for a third strike attempt as my experiences here were among the all time worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. So from my two visits I have to give this restaurant ONE star! Now some redemption has happened as the current GM of this restaurant all these years later in 2025 noticed my poor review experiences and invited me to make a return visit to try them again! So I very much value restaurants that want to make things right again and I'm also a big fan of Mr. Ed's other locations I've visited over the years and still have them on my rotation. I was really sad this Mr. Ed's really failed me after all the others had been so good. So far I haven't had time to take up the offer of a return visit but the professionalism of the GM here makes this review go up from a 1 star to a 3 star at least until I can finally sample the food here again. I have high expectations that they will at least meet or exceed my experiences at other Mr. Ed's locations. Update: I did make a return visit without letting the GM know just to see if things had improved. Unfortunately it seems things are still not where they should be...

Kenner Seafood is definitely one to remember…read more If you're visiting the New Orleans area and don't want to eat every meal in the French Quarter, I highly recommend heading over to Kenner for some seafood. This place serves up that classic Louisiana-style seafood like shrimp, crab, oysters, and more. The portions are generous, the flavors are bold, and it's the kind of meal that's meant to be enjoyed with your hands and without worrying about making a mess! Crabs were tossed in Cajun seasoning, it's savory, spicy, salty, and packed with flavor. Once you start, it's hard to stop If you're a fan of Gulf Coast oysters, definitely give them a try. They're a completely different experience from the more refined, upscale oyster bars. Overall vibe The atmosphere is casual and laid-back. It's not the kind of upscale restaurant where you feel like you need to dress up--it's more like coming to Louisiana to seriously eat some seafood until your hands are covered in sauce. And personally, I really love that local, authentic Louisiana feel.
