Iced vanilla latte (stirred)

While some people might be inclined to turn away from Peets since there are so many other local coffee shops to visit, this location has the same warm, welcoming vibe that coffee goers look for, if not MORE than most SB shops. Staff has been sweet every time I've gone in, but there is a shorter woman with glasses and dirty blonde hair that is just exceptionally nice. She's given me complimentary pastries when I've gone in just before closing and isn't at all bothered that I'm visiting 10-20 minutes prior to shut down time (unlike other places, again). I truly want to come back just to interact with her because she's so lovely and caring. Coffee is also always consistently good and unlike 99% of other places, they don't charge for milk alternatives! My go to anywhere is an iced vanilla latte, but here I especially love the vanilla latte with almond milk. It's creamy and a perfect blend of sweetness and coffee!

You know you're a valued customer when you lost your keys and can't make it to the store to pick up your order. Love this Peets and the great service and coffee. Thanks Jess and Jazmine.

First off I love coffee!!! smooth easy to drink and not biting you back from the cup. Peets is that for me, I have a thing for Major Dickason's. Second is the Staff, the Manager Antares is Awesome! She and her Staff( Heidi, Carol, Esparza , Zoe , Lara are all so kind and address you by name. Its such a pleasant feeling to welcomed. I highly recommend stopping here for a little peace and smooth coffee.

I came in and was treated so kindly. The cashier was super patient as it was my first time here. She gave me some recommendations and made sure to warm up my pastry. It looked pretty busy and there were several people waiting for their orders. She was cool as a cucumber and made sure each customer received their order. I'd come back, great customer service!

This review is specifically for Marilyn (I think is her name. She has long brown hair and is in her early 20s). I was having issues with the app and connectivity and wanted to redeem some points and a coupon I had. Marilyn tried to help me but I had no reception, so she helped me out with redemption on my drink. The manager (I think) with glasses overheard me talking about it to my friend and asked me what had happened, then went over and spoke to Marilyn about it like she shouldn't have done that. What's so sad is that Marilyn did a great job, helped me out and I would have definitely stopped by this Peets when I pass through SB again. But the manager (or lead, whoever she was) listening in to my conversation and then talking to Marilyn about the situation made me feel what she did was wrong, when she was trying to make it right. Please give Marilyn a shout out and a raise. She's great!

This was our first time here in over two years. The staff was friendly and helpful. With our food allergies we had many questions, the staff was patient and knowledgeable. I had a vanilla iced latte it was great. My sister ordered an oat milk sugar free iced coffee- hers was amazing!! Creamy and smooth!! My husband had the cold brew and a hot cup of the daily brew. He enjoyed his choice.

Everything plant based bagel

While recently taking a trip out of town, I happen to read online about this restaurant offers a completely plant based bagel sandwich and I just had to go try it out. Before entering the restaurant, I noticed signage on the front door regarding mask wearing. Upon entering the restaurant, I was warmly greeted by a restaurant employee. Despite a long line, we were soon able to place our order. The restaurant employee apologized for the long wait and quickly took our order. I was a bit bummed that I was unable to scan my Peet's app to get app rewards but was happy at how quickly our food was ready. I did appreciate that vegan food items are clearly labeled at the restaurant and on the Peet's app. The everything plant based bagel sandwich contained vegan sausage, vegan egg, and vegan cheese on an bagel and was delicious. The iced lemon poppyseed scone was sweet but not overly sweet. I would love to see more hot plant based sandwiches on their menu but love that this option is currently available for vegans, vegetarians, and the veg-curious. Although I'm saddened that there not more Peet's location where I live, I will definitely plan to pay them a visit the next time I'm in a city that has a Peet's location.

It was perfectly sweet, which I loved because I'm not a fan of overly dense or super sweet treats. The service was incredibly kind. Even while dealing with so many customers in one day, they greeted everyone with a smile and such a welcoming attitude. The place is also really clean and well-kept. This spot will definitely be added to my go-to list whenever I'm in Santa Barbara!

Like many parts of Santa Barbara, the buildings are steeped in history and reflect the Spanish heritage of the city. I walked in my dog (they're dog friendly!) and went straight to look for the menu. My dog immediately found the bike pump and the snacks they leave for dogs. Service is super nice! They all seem very jovial and cheerful - making it a really nice local vibe. It was great to see the community in the coffee shop. Sadly, the coffee leaves something to be desired. Their menu is pretty standard - you got your flat whites, cappuccinos, lattes - and nothing special or standout from the menu. That's fine - you can still be a standout coffee shop with a standard menu. I ordered two vanilla lattes - one hot, and the other iced with oat milk. Unfortunately, I think my order was misheard as my iced oat latte was missing the vanilla. - Vanilla Latte: Fine. My partner typically orders this everywhere and he said it was fine, but nothing standout. 3/5 - Iced Oat Latte: Already mentioned it was missing the vanilla I asked for, so I'll discuss the other elements. They use a darker roast - thus, making it more susceptible to a bitter taste. That, and I believe an over-extraction or a longer pull made the coffee quite bitter. They also served it in the same cup as the hot coffee. My main issue with this is that I'm a slower coffee drinker, and thus my cup began disintegrating as time passed. Their cups aren't constructed to uphold iced coffee well. 2/5 It was such a prime location nearby the USPS and is sat in a great historic area. Handlebars has great staff, who clearly enjoy their jobs, and have a great community surrounding it. It's sad that their coffee is subpar. Strongly recommend you order your coffee hot, to drink in-store, or just avoid.
