This is a busy coffee house where patrons sit, talk, read, stay on their laptops, and relax. It's a good kind of busy, the kind that says it's a place where you want to just settle in and sip your coffee. First time to come here was challenging to park, but not a big deal, there's some street parking. Came in and was hoping to try a pastry.... Not today, I guess everything sells out before 2pm haha. I'll have to come earlier next time. Decided to try a Mayan mocha. Wasn't sure what it was, but was told it's like a Mexican hot chocolate- I'm sold. How have I lived here for six years and NEVER reviewed my beloved Java Station?? Oh my lanta, this place is a gem in the little area of Noleta. Bekah, the owner, is sunshine in human form with a dash of sass, who truly cares about her community. Not only that, she personally smokes the meats that feature in the sandwiches. When I tell you the smoked turkey sandwich is the best turkey sandwich in all of Santa Barbara? I may be marginally biased but I am speaking with my full chest: THE SMOKED TURKEY SANDWICH IS THE BEST IN ALL OF SANTA BARBARA!!! The tri-tip quesadilla is indulgent and full of flavor. The breakfast tacos are perfection. And the coffee selection is incredible. Java Station uses ethical blends and has lattes that rival any chain. Sometimes I just say "I need something not too sweet that'll wake me up" and she whips me up a magic potion. And all of her staff are equally talented. PLUS, Java Station has regular after hours entertainment. Expect a packed house for excellent comedy, among other events. Wine and beer offered for these too, which makes it almost like a cool speakeasy. In short, Java Station is a hidden gem that shouldn't be so hidden. This place is really good. My wife and I stopped by for coffee and breakfast, and it exceeded expectations. My wife is very picky with her coffee being an ex barista, and she said twice, "this really is the best coffee I've ever had". It was an iced lavender vanilla latte with oat milk. My Ghirardelli mocha was great too. The bacon and egg bagels were huge, tasty, and came with 2 really good sauces that are definitely made in house or local. The one con is price. We paid $51 for 2 sandwiches and 2 large coffees. Like I said, the sandwiches are really big and the coffee was incredible, but you will pay for what you get. Overall, this place was just okay. My friend and I stopped here on our way out from SB, just looking for a quick bite. Parking was tough on a Sunday around 11-12. This is one of the larger hipster coffee shops I have been to. There is a full size fireplace inside, they have a big green egg and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. It seems to be the popular place for breakfast too! They seem to have very basic coffee drinks and nothing too fancy. With September 1st being just 2 days away, we asked if they had any pumpkin specialty drinks and they said no since it's seasonal. So that was a bit disappointing. I ended up getting a Chai Latte and honestly I was not that impressed. It definitely tasted like it had more milk than what I am used to and it was not sweet. Which is ok I guess but when in vacation I like to enjoy my pricey coffee specialty drinks. The baristas were nice and everyone local seems to like this place but I personally preferred the Lighthouse over this place. We spent $15 for one black coffee, one large chai latte and one small latte and I feel robbed. Way more than Starbucks. read more

This place is an absolute gem! You can tell when you walk in that the beans they use are fantastic quality just by the smell. To me, that's always a good indicator of a coffee shop I want to be in. The service was friendly and even though there was almost no parking left my orders came out in a jiffy! The whole place was packed but it was very quiet, mostly because everyone respected those around them. I tried the Green juice (kale, cucumber, lemon, apple, chard) and unsweetened iced matcha oat milk latte. Both were soooo good! If you're looking for a coffee shop that serves food then I would recommend Java Station. The staff is friendly and they have an extensive drink and food menu. This morning a friend and I went for coffee and their specialty bagels. The lox and schmear is always my go to and my friend ordered the avocado bagel. Both topping were perfect but the bagels can sometimes be a little chewy than desired. That being said the bagels were still very delicious. The coffee is pretty good as well and they do have a couple Axxess Card buy one, get one free deals. Overall Java Station is a solid place to go to for coffee beverages and food. read more

Came here on a Saturday morning with my gf and our Husky dog and it was so nice. We found a spot outside after a few minutes of waiting and I hopped in line. The Halloween decor gave a very warm feel and the cashier was pleasant. Only hiccup was that I ordered a side of bacon and they didn't process my order because of a technical glitch. Went to Java Station for the first time and finally found a coffee shop I liked. Everyone around Santa Barbara seems to have the same boring menus. I like a (fairly easy) coffee drink from Starbucks but I would rather order it from a local business, but when I do I get a deer in headlights look as if they don't know what Starbucks is or what language I'm speaking. Java Station made a drink for me comparable and it was awesome. Weird seating situation as many of the tables were taken by people just hanging out with no coffee or food, but we made do. Best avocado bagel in town! They sliced the tomato thin and put lemon pepper on it , with avocado and a blue cream cheese if you want it I have no idea where they get their produce from but everything on this bagel is delicious . They also have a gluten-free blueberry muffin, I eat gluten, but I get this one because it's so moist and delicious. The coffee shop has a really nice energy and it's a nice place to come by and get a treat or coffee tea in the morning. I've had it sans egg as well and it's delicious either way. Ingredients are always quality at this place and it results in a delightful meal that leaves you feeling light and satisfied. It's my favorite post-yoga snack! Java Station has a long history in Santa Barbara. The interior has been beautifully remodeled since last I'd been here. There are a plethora of tables and chairs on the inside, often inhabited by students. Great place to study! Great place to work! There is a lovely fireplace which is welcome in the wintertime, and patio seating. I'm always pleasantly startled by the mannequin near the front door, and other art pieces throughout Java Station. Most of the local art pieces are for sale, which is nice. Java Station accepts the access pass, which is what got me to visit. So happy I've returned. They also sell food. I enjoyed the breakfast burrito. It was a bit cold on the inside but they heated it up for me. Everyone who works there is very friendly and accommodating. My friend and went to Java Station to study and get some work done in a good atmosphere and we were not disappointed. Lots of space both indoor and out with nice fresh air flow. Fast wifi and accessible outlets were also a plus. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk and the cashier recommended I add vanilla. I am so glad I took their advice because it was a great new way to enjoy the matcha flavor. The cashiers were also very patient and gracious in helping my friend decide on a drink. They ended up with a pretty solid caramel latte with whole milk. My friend also ordered the carnivore melt with tri-tip. The portion sizes a pretty big, so we definitely could have shared. Unfortunately, I'm not a carnivore, so I didn't have a taste, though it looked and smelled delicious (my friend recommends for all the carnivores out there). 5 stars for customer service! read more

Lovely cafe with indoor and outdoor tables. Hands down the BEST latte we've had in Santa Barbara for a while. We ordered a large with an extra shot, & they offered to throw in another shot for free. But it was really tasty & smooooth. So good, we returned for another latte an hour later. We'll be coming back to try their luscious looking lox covered bagels. (locally smoked lox!) Java Station is my go-to place to study for their wide open seating area that is always sure to have some open spots since it's farther from campus and lesser known than other trendy coffee shops in the area. Here's my list of pros and cons of the place Pros: - Great, yummy sandwiches and bagels! Always super delicious and filling, and I'd go more for the food than the drinks - Staff is very friendly and kind and helpful :) Cons: - Coffee and tea drinks just lack in flavor and often look and taste very watered-down and have an odd aftertaste that doesn't taste like coffee? - VERY overpriced! I paid $15 for a sandwich, $13 for a quiche slice, and $8 for a cheese bagel with cream cheese. Also once I ordered a sandwich meal which comes with a side of chips and they just poured the leftover crumbs from the bag onto my plate :'( -Odd homeless guy who hangs around almost everyday? I think he like lives there behind the dumpster? I often see him going to and from the back storage room, I've seen him pee in the parking lot, etc. Also wanted to use an outlet by his table once that wasn't even being used and he wouldn't let me. My wife and I had stopped here previously to use the restroom and it was just after closing but the owner was so kind and let us in. I purchased some of the baked goods and even for being the end of the day, they were delicious. I appreciated the kindness so anytime I can stop by, I make it a point to get some goodies from here. A few weeks ago, I decided to try their Tri-tip sandwich and I am so glad that I did. This is one of the best balanced sandwiches that I have ever had. The meat to veggie ratio is close to perfection. I prefer the ciabatta bread as it holds up nicely to the horseradish aioli. I ordered a scone to eat while I am waiting for my sandwich bad that is equally as amazing! If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and try it for yourself.
