I love how peaceful and quiet this Peet's location is. The staff is generally helpful and respectful. Unfortunately the location is fairly dirty. Specifically the floors are not being regularly mopped and have accrued dirt and dust and the a/c is kept at a temperature that is quite chilly and uncomfortable. I have had to go outside to do my work because it is so cold in the upstairs section. I am hoping that the cleaning can be improved and the temperature better regulated for a more comfortable experience. read more

What really impressed me was that she remembered me and my order even though I'd only been there once before! She was super friendly and genuinely happy to serve me, even close to closing. Today at 7:42am encountered one of the rudest barista ordered my drink with no foam order was entered wrong. My iced Matcha is delicious. I ordered it on the Peet's app. This location is six minutes from my home by the time I got there my Matcha was sitting pretty waiting for me. After today, I'm done with this location. They can't seem to get it together in terms of managing in-person and mobile orders. Their mobile order system is a joke. It's actually faster to place the order in person even with the long line. I really wanted to give this location a chance and support it, but when a mobile order is placed and you have to wait 20 minutes longer than the guaranteed time, and when you finally get your order it's wrong, it's time to move on. Always love the ambiance at this location. I am a Sunday regular and staff greet as soon as I arrive. Every single staff engage in a friendly manner and especially the worker named Diego who went above and beyond when my coffee wasn't warm. ( happened only twice) he has a great attitude, very approachable, and later checks up on customers to make sure their drink was to perfection. Inconsistent service. Sometimes staff are friendly and professional, often they are not. I was served this morning at 7:15 am by a female cashier who didn't feel like talking. She didn't say anything after I told her my order, so I was left hanging not knowing if she'd heard me or not. Then after I tapped my credit card on the device, a message had popped up asking if I wanted to donate money to some charity. I hadn't noticed this message and had started to step away from the cashier area. Instead of politely telling me that I needed to make a selection about the donation, the cashier just pointed to the screen without saying anything and without looking at me. I come here for my morning coffee. There are usually 1-2 people in line when I arrive. The workers are alway nice and fast. There's a little wait for the barista to make my coffee, but it's worth it each time. It foamy, creamy and perfect each time. I love the clean restroom, location and surroundings shops. I consider this 'my' coffee shop. Me and my sister come here every morning! We love the service more than anything primarily because of the baristas. We also love the location and the ambiance however in the last few months we have noticed a decline in the cleanliness/maintenance. No attention to detail, bathroom often needs deep cleaning. I love that Peets supports baristas that are going to school or in between jobs/careers however I don't like that some of them are not getting enough hours to support themselves! My best barista (Erica) is one of those people that is dealing with classes and trying to support herself. My experience at this Peets location is a phenomenal morning or night each and every time I visit, it has spectacular service especially when the cute barista Owen is at the counter. Unfortunately, whenever I come in and Sabriel is working he always seems to mess up a customer's drink or take an untimely bathroom break during a rush making the wait time for my beverage triple! Oh I am so excited to see this new Peet's! I happened upon it by accident, but glad I did! It is SO nice inside, lots of modern seating inside and out, plus an upstairs seating area too. I wish the Peet's in Montclair could be this big and nice! I also love the modern artwork and signage, focused on coffee plants and the growers - makes one feel good about being here. This is a brand new Peet's and it is located in the Lincoln Square shopping center in Oakland. The entire neighborhood has been eagerly anticipating its grand opening. I gave it a few weeks for them to work the kinks out before visiting and decided that now was the time to try it. The store is in the parking lot of a small mall which also includes a liquor store as well as a Safeway. Bonus here as there is plenty of parking. Entering, I was struck by how pretty it was. It's two stories with the registers and ordering area on the ground floor and a really nice upstairs area for seating. There is an elevator for those with disabilities. They also have gender neutral bathrooms. Both the first and second floors have nice outdoor seating and the second floor is spacious and perfect for meetings, work, and quiet conversations. Wifi was a bit slow in my opinion..... Ordering my coffee was not without its problems. While there were at least five people working there was only one person working the register, one barista struggling to fulfill the orders and three others grinding beans and doing other tasks. The line began to grow and people were starting to become frustrated. Kudos to the manager for getting a hand on the situation but I did have to end up waiting 10 minutes for my simple cold brew coffee. The other issue I had was that while it was 90 degrees outside, it was closer to 60 degrees inside. The air conditioning was so strong that I had to step outside just to warm up. All in all, a very nice place. I work from home so it's nice to have a nice quiet area where I can work from time to time. I'm glad that they opened and look forward to coming here again. Hopefully they can pull themselves together and work out some of the minor issues I presented. read more

Always behind. Always understaffed. Consistently inconsistent for a chain coffee place. I have resisted writing this review for the past 5 visits. I get it, the pandemic is stressful but this is a cooperation. They need to step it up. Order ahead threw the app is a joke, today my order took a full 24 minutes when the app said it would be ready in 6-9 minutes. I hate to be critical, but a smooth morning coffee run makes or breaks a day. Today i got to work late, with coffee and I looked like an ass in front of my staff. This location had been under construction and pending opening for so long residents in the area and myself had been disappointed by the never knowing opening date. Now that it is open I am thrilled! It is beautiful inside! Two floors with plenty of seating and room for relaxation and conversation or studying. There are two all gender restrooms, one on each floor. A lift for anyone who may need accessibility/accommodations to move up and down floors. The staff were so kind! And parking is still convenient given the large parking lot for all other business in the plaza.
