Coffee & treats are available, staff are cordial once they attend to you. All 3 or one could've said, "welcome" or "be with you in bit", perhaps they're lost in thought, something. You order, pay then they'll call out your drink. What I like most is the outdoor patio with ocean themed fountain. Tables, chairs, Adirondack lounge chairs are available for just chilling. Great for hangouts or working on your mobile devices. My drink, iced vanilla latte with ube cream top was good. Parking is free & can be a challenge during peak hours. The perfect coffee place to study or hang out with family and friends. Awesome Coffee and Tea's assortments. The Customer Service by the Staff is very excellent and welcoming. Overall: A friendly atmosphere. Very cozy and warm. Beautifully decorated with modern decor and very spacious coffee shop whether inside or outside on the patio. Clean inside and also the restrooms too. I really enjoyed the flavor of Peet's more than some of its larger competitors and this location has friendly staff, healthy food options, and outdoor seating to allow you to really savor your experience . I love Peet's coffee but the workers at this location are extremely rude. I came by to get a caramel macchiato, on their website it literally says they offer sugar-free caramel sauce upon request but when I walk in and simply asked a question of whether they had it or not, the staff said they didn't plus a very unnecessary comment that they're not starbucks where you can get sugar-free options. Anyways, I order my coffee and when the barista was done, she literally leaves my drink in a spot where it would be hard for anyone to reach over. Don't recommend this Peet's location and definitely won't be back. read more

OMG! I had the best Dark "Yosemite" Roast here yesterday. I am still drinking the remainder today it was so great. This Peet's is in an upscale shopping center in Newport Beach adjacent to Corona Del Mar--one of the best places to reside in the United States bar none. All the stores in this shopping center are great like Tommy Bahama next door, Bristol Farms grocery store, Gulfstream restaurant and many more. I was just visiting Newport to hang out on the beach, but if I resided here--I would be a regular at this Peet's. Their bathroom was on the dirty side at 2 PM, but who likes to clean bathrooms? (Get the code from an employee.) They have these great tables under umbrellas to sit and relax in front. Easy free parking in a large lot. Employees here--not as friendly as some other Peet's I have been to--but fine. Keep in mind this is Newport Beach so if someone just talks me without asking where I bank--I am happy. Don't get me wrong--the lady behind the counter was very helpful--I asked her which coffee is better? Which one does everyone like--The Dark or Medium? She says get the medium if you handle the "acids" otherwise get the dark. I said to myself: Acids!? Don't want that!--I am getting the Dark! Isn't Acid illegal? Came here recently and had great service. Came here early in the morning (around 7 AM) and there was absolutely no line at all. Walked right up to the counter and placed my order. The order was correct and came out within a few minutes. Very clean inside and outside seating area. Heaters outside were on, which made it more comfortable to sit outside in the early morning with a thick marine layer. I'll definitely return. read more

There is one girl in particular that works their that is always so friendly and sweet , she is super pretty with long brown hair and glowy olive skin , she sometimes wears glasses. Hands down the best drip coffee out of the chain place in OC. Starbucks, Coffee Bean, Pete's etc. Pete's hands down is the best. Once you have it, there is no way you can drink Starbucks again. I love a large medium roast with a splash of heavy. Sometimes I'll go Americano the same way. I also come by for some fresh roasted single origins to take home from time to time as well. This location is full of old white people, so if you're into the CDM crew it will be your spot, there is a Bristol farms and my fav Gulfstream in the same center. I like to drive across PCH and check the Real Estate vibes in CDM for some dream building. read more

This location has horrible and bigoted customer service. I came in two weeks ago with my two best friends, and one asked to use the restroom before we ordered. She was immediately greeted with disgusted stares and silence. Nobody answered us or asked for help. The one barista with the poorly done landing strip on his head seemed to be in a rush to get us out of the store, which would explain the extreme lack of quality in our drinks. We ordered two drinks in total, and they completely skipped over mine. While I was waiting for my drink to be made, they rudely asked me what I was still waiting for and didn't believe that I had placed an order. This is a nice Peet's location. It is conveniently located in the Corona Del Mar Plaza next to the Jack's store. Parking can be hit and miss near the store, but the lot is never totally full. The inside seating is almost none, but lots of patio seating outside. Ordering and prep always go fast. Service is efficient and helpful. Drink quality is consistently good as well. read more

Small little coffee spot in Newport Beach! Peet's Coffee is a nice little spot with limited indoor seating, good amount of outlets and a restroom for customers. Customer service is great, I was not sure what I wanted and the staff member gave me some options. I ended up purchasing the spice latte in a small. It was creamy and not too sweet. Outside of Peet's Coffee, there are plenty of seats and a variety of tables and chairs to lounge in. Looks like this is the spot people go to to meet up and chat with others. WOW. Best environment, super great shops surrounding this Peet's coffee, unfortunately there's always one rotten egg in the bunch, the gal that was working the register. She looked festive for the holiday season but had a very sour and undesirable attitude. Petes is an amazing coffee, this woman had absolutely no customer service sense, was not kind and to be quite honest- needs to be in the back room stocking straws. Do yourself a favor and have someone with a really great attitude who's super kind work the register. The holiday season can be happy for most, but some just want to have a coffee and relax and take off some of the stressors that have been put on them during the season. You still can redeem yourself but unfortunately I probably will go to a different location from now on. Sad. read more

They like rip you off with extra service requests. I was asking for easy ice, And they charged for that too???? I didn't realize till this visit. No thanks. I love the remodel of this location in Newport Beach,CA...but I have to say of all the Peet's locations, this is my least favorite, a location I avoid unless a necessity while in the area. When in the local area my choice would always be to visit the other/location on 17th street but it is always out of the way for me...the employees are consistently much more pleasant there. Here the vibe is hit or miss with an almost predictable miss. Pleasant and welcoming customer service does make a difference to me. On a recent evening my husband and I stopped here, I waited in the car he came out of the store and commented on the service, in not a good way. The gal would not allow him put his free tea or coffee drink credit with bean purchase towards an espresso drink. That's a new one! In the 10 plus years I've been frequenting Peet's this has never been the policy! He ended up just getting a tea, when he really wanted an espresso drink but also wanted to not waste his complimentary tea or coffee drink credit. I just don't get why they often err on the side of not accommodating the customer here when every other store does, even with a smile! read more

I have been an avid Peet's customer for years and was excited to try a new location after a beach visit. I went in with my young daughter and was disgusted by the manager and his behavior. After placing our order, Jason made inappropriate comments about my daughters body and proceeded to laugh it off. We were taken aback by abnormal behavior from a Peet's employee, let alone THE manager. This man is not fit to be representing this company nor is he fit to be in a leadership role. My family and I will not be returning to this location, and as an Irvine and Newport resident for over 20 years, I will be making it clear this location is unsafe and unwelcoming. read more

The set up at this Peets is pretty amazing! It's right near the beach for starters. What's impressive is the outside seating area around the water fountain. I just wished it was a bit closer to my place so I can relax here all the time. There's also inside seating but it very small, maybe 4 tables. The service was fast, it's clean inside, and also lots of room. There's also lots of parking in the lot since it is located inside the shopping center. I like that it's so close to Bristol Farms too, in case I want to grab a bite during a study session. Definitely one of my favourite Peets locations. read more

Been here several times in the past, and it's good. Today, I tried to come in without a mask and was denied service. I explained my medical condition but it fell on deaf ears. :( No big deal, I won't cry over spilt coffee, but the only other customer in the place, in front of me, had no mask on either....AND HE WAS SERVED ! That's discrimination.... I politely acknowledged their decline and left. As soon as I walked out, another customer offered to go in again and purchase for me. A very nice and thoughtful sentiment for sure. I declined this generous offer, but conveyed my appreciation. My thought being that I would prefer that no business of any kind be extended to this location, or any other Peets, on or for my behalf. Sad to say, I've been a customer for countless years to this company. I'm no social warrior but if you're going to play these reindeer games, ya better play by the book. I didn't intend to publicly complain about Peet's, but my email to corporate resulted in a generic, cookie-cutter apology written in PR speak and a note about a potential follow-up which never materialized (surprise, surprise). So here goes. I originally complained to corporate back in November 2015. This was my feedback: "I've been to this particular location multiple times (at least 5 times over the course of a month). Last time I was there (which was last week), I was given a feedback request receipt which I completed. So I went to Peet's this morning to redeem the $1 discount. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my service today. Firstly, I wasn't greeted when I entered the store (which is an experience that I've become used to at this location because I've realized the employees seem very indifferent and unkind save one worker who sadly wasn't here today).  When I got to the front of the line, the cashier said a half-hearted "hi" with a bored-looking expression (this also didn't concern me too much since I never expect friendly service here) and took my order. She didn't even say "thanks", "have a nice day," or "would you like your receipt?" when I was done swiping my credit card. She just ignored me and moved onto the next person while I awkwardly stood off to the side because I was put off by her lack of customer service--that is, she acted like she was doing me a favor by taking my order. When my drink came out (which was quickly, so I give them props for that fact), it was supposed to be a Black Tie, which I've ordered numerous times. It usually has black cold brew on top and a small layer of condensed milk on the bottom. However, today, my drink was more of a "Brown Tie" because the barista added milk/cream to the cold brew, so it already was mixed with cream on top, so that renders the condensed milk at the bottom superfluous. I enjoy mixing the condensed milk into the black coffee to make it taste somewhat similar to Vietnamese coffee, but when the barista already adds milk/cream to the cold brew, then it's just a regular cup of coffee (not to mention with extra calories and fat on account of the unnecessary cream). Even when the barista made my drink incorrectly (and I didn't bother complaining about my messed up drink because the store was busy and I didn't want to be a nuisance and slow down the line), I was kind of ok with that. What actually made me really upset was the fact that the beverage was overflowing, so that when I moved my cup toward the area with the lids (one of the baristas told me that the "lids were over there"), the drink spilled. I saw the barista clean up the spill with a rag.  Then when I put the lid on the cup, the liquid leaked out (because the lid pushed down on the top which made the drink spill from the sides) even though some already spilled out beforehand from me moving the cup. I didn't want to leave the counter messy, so I grabbed some napkins and cleaned up the drink (also to prevent my hands from getting sticky from touching the cup where the drink leaked). When I tried to stab my straw through the lid, the drink inevitably leaked out of the hole where the straw goes, so I had to use more tissues to clean the lid where a lot of the beverage came out. At the end, I wasted about 5 napkins and my hands were sticky. That was the "last straw" so to speak, and I regret to inform you that I cannot return to this store because not only is the customer service terrible, but now they can't even make my favorite drink correctly.  I am incredibly disappointed." tl;dr the baristas here are really unfriendly to me (is it because I'm not white? Lol) and messed up my favorite drink. I wrote to corporate and they pretended to care and said they'd follow up with me. But of course, they never contacted me again. I've been boycotting Peet's since this incident and my best friend has joined me. read more

I have always been a big fan of Peet's, as I think the coffee, food, and environment are enjoyable. This is my favorite Peet's Coffee because I love the location and the available outside seating. Although a large chain, this Peet's location feels the most like a Atmosphere: Located in Corona Del Mar Plaza, Peet's is tucked in the back corner next to Jack's Surfboards. Both the inside and outside environments are relaxed and cozy. I have come here several times to do homework/study and it never gets too loud. It's always clean inside and outside, which you don't see in many chain coffee shops. I especially love sitting outside because it's sunny and the fountain gives it a nice ambiance. I love watching the two ducks (whom I have named Fred & Ethel) play in the fountain and get fed bits of scone by young children. Service: I've never had to wait in line too long, which I appreciate but I don't feel that the baristas/cashiers are as personable or engaged as they are at other Peet's locations. They just seem like they're there to do their job and don't care to interact with their customers. My dad and I have tried to interact with several of them, and it appears that they would rather not be bothered. I find this to be a bummer because I have met some of the nicest baristas at other Peet's Coffee locations. I do appreciate that they will serve your coffee in a glass mug instead of paper to-go cup if you ask for it. Food/Drink: The cappuccinos are my favorite and they do a good job of making them dry with good foam! I also love the Mango Sunrise Tea and it's super refreshing on a warm day. Iced coffee with half and half is also good, and so is the traditional cappuccino. Good selection of food and pastries - much better than Starbucks. Highlights: One "all gender" restroom for all customers to use. Peet's mobile app allows you to check in and once you get a certain number of drinks, the next drink is free (any size/any drink)! I do prefer mom & pop and local coffee shops, but this is my favorite Peet's. read more

The staff here is so nice and for a chain Peet's has the strongest coffee! I'm always satisfied after having a cup of Peet's. If you are looking for any recommendations I'd recommend the.. - iced latte with honey - iced vanilla latte - got pumpkin spice latte - iced americano with honey All of their drinks by default come with 2% milk. I like to get whole milk to make them more creamy but I also love their Almond milk options. They recently added oat milk but I'm not a fan of the brand of oat milk that they currently use. read more

Love me some Peet's! Never a disappointment. No matter what you order, it's delish and I have full confidence that if you don't like your order they will remake it. All the locations I have been to, including this one, have had friendly employess, which is always a nice touch! Their brewed coffee is flavorful and strong, great for a morning or afternoon pick-me-up and their pastries are all very tasty. I also have had every flavor of their tea lattes and they are all good. My favorite is the matcha green tea. This location in particular has a nice outdoor seating area where my husband and I can enjoy the nice Ocean breeze. There is also great shopping in the complex. Had a spiced pumpkin freddo, total was $3.75. Wasn't too bad but it was wayyy too sweet. I usually can take sweet stuff but this was way too much for me. The place is going to be remodeled starting next week.. so there was a lot of things getting moved around while I was there. The wifi there was a bit wonky, but thats probably my computer. Their internet code looks a LOT like p90x. LOL. looks like someone working there is on it. You can get the code by asking the cashier after your purchase. There are plenty of seats outside to sit and use the laptop or read a book. Nice chill spot. read more

Love this location! While the shop itself is extremely small with limits seating, the outside patio area is great! They have a large fountain in the middle with plenty if covered and open seating around it. They also do have heaters for the winter months. Staff at this location is always friendly. read more

Came in on Peet's birthday and received a free coffee! That was the highlight of my day since I was busy studying for finals! The manager was super friendly and the baristas were all really nice too. The location is such a nice place in NB next to shops like Sprinkles! Parking is in the private lot and not TOO hard to find a spot. I would have given this place 5 stars if it wasn't for the lack of seating inside.... such a bummer! read more

Came here after picking up some doggie cupcakes at Sprinkles within the same plaza. Was craving a caffeine fix and wanted to get something on the hotter side instead of my typical iced drinks from coffee shops. Picked up a large Hazelnut Caramel Latte since it caught my eye coming in the store. It wasn't bad, but then again how can you mess up a latte right? Things were fine until I realized getting a large was a bit of a mistake on my end since within half an hour+ in things started to get cold and it wasn't as great as it initially was. Another thing to mention is that the closer you get to the bottom, the more of that overwhelming sweet taste sensation you get in your mouth, so make sure you have some water at hand to wash that out of your system. Overall, pretty good drink but I think I'll stick to my Starbucks and Cafe Su Das for the most part unless I'm ever out of luck as those two as my main go-tos. read more
