Really, they deserve zero stars. What a horrific experience! Just wanted a hot tea...seems simple right? The person handling the order at drive through repeatedly had me repeat simple things like, size? Medium. Ok and what size? Um, medium. Hot or cold. Hot. Ok, and do you want hot or cold. Um HOT. WTH????? Worst part? Got the tea wrong. I specifically asked for citrus chamomile, but ended up with a LARGE MINT. Drive up to pay for it, sick of having that credit card machine stuck in my face to tip them for putting a tea bag in a cup and filling it with water. Geesh! Drove off. Started to drink the tea... damn it, he gave me MINT and I'm allergic to mint. Later called the manager, Laurie, who didn't ask... are you ok... or even offer an apology.. and of course, no offer to refund my money. No she just wanted to talk about the bad day they were having... two employees had quit (wonder why?!!!) and she talked about how everyone was stressed. Constantly spoke over me, raising her voice.... absolutely stunned by her immaturity and lack of professionalism. Got the same kind of lame response when I called the GM the next day. Escalated it to corporate... but have now given up, seeing that the number the GM gave me to the "corporate office" (the GM ASSURED ME it was) was actually some low level customer service rep named Dixid ... in f'ing INDIA. Peets can self implode for all I care. What a shoddy operation. People, check your orders if you have allergies, because I'm pretty sure they won't care when they give you ingredients that will kill you. I'm reading Peets was sold to a company that continues to make blood money by keeping stores open in Russia. Typically I enjoy my time here. They have a nice interior design and layout. They're drink selection is also very good, but that is standard across the board for Peet's. Today, however, when the pace picked up, between the counter and the drive thru, you could see they are not designed to handle a rush of any sort. They were putting drinks on the counter without any idea of what drink belong to who. People were grabbing at drinks, not knowing what drink was what. Another gentleman and myself had to work out with each whose drink was whose. I had to remind the people at the counter twice to make my wife's sandwich (over a 15 minute period) and three times to make my quiche (over a 20 minute period). The staff apologized stating that our items had been given away at the drive thru and never got remade, but it really shines a spotlight on the flaw in their system of casually placing items in spots where people can randomly grab them without verification of who gets what. This is still one of my favorite hangout spots, for the typically chill environment it is, but they need to devise a better delivery system for the high volume times. read more

My guy's favorite coffee place in town. Once he tasted Peet's he could never go back to Starbucks. Baristas Jason and Teala are the best. It is always a pleasure to deal with them. However, there is one barista who should not be working the drive-thru...ever. She never seems to be able to hear your order correctly and aggravates my husband so much he actually stopped going there for several months (and he used to go daily). read more

Peets is a national chain of coffee. Because of this they have a star bucks feel. They just do things better. I like their coffee more then star bucks because it is not so bitter. I can drink theirs black and enjoy it. every location i've been to including this one has ample space for studying and relaxing. It was just a bit cold inside. There are outlets for electronics everywhere here. It is not 5 stars simply because it is a national brand the people working here are not really experts in their coffee. They looked at me funny when I asked them which of their roasts do they recommend to drink black. read more

I've been to a few Peet's, and I love the cappuccino. However, this one needs some improvement. I usually go to the Downers grove location which does not have these issues. Ordered a cappuccino and a sticky bun. Was totally looking forward to sipping on the nice glass cup. Nope, only offered paper. Also, ordered a sticky bun, and asked for a fork. Apparently they do not have forks, and the staff said they never have forks. What kind of place serves pastries with no fork? Not even a spork. I'll only be going to Downers from now on. read more

The Internet was slow and blocked me out of using Spotify, Pandora, iTunes, and YouTube. If I'm going to spend $3.50 (with a coupon) on a drink, then I would expect to be able to use the Internet to listen to music. It was very cold inside. I was disappointed by those two things. The outdoor seating was nice, however there were no plugs. The seats are comfortable inside and out. My drink tasted very good and the employees were nice. read more

This Peet's is pretty great, friends. Not sure how much I can add to the already written reviews, so I'll run down the particulars. Location: Right off of Ogden, easy in and out! Interior: Tons of space for sitting & working. Super clean but the acoustics were loud on the receiving end of both of my calls. Drive thru: They have it! Food offerings: The pastries looked decent and my zucchini bread was just fine. Nothing remarkable, but it did the trick. And while they have prepackaged sandwiches, I didn't spy any breakfast sandwiches available. The only breakfast nibble outside of pastries was oatmeal. My matcha latte was great and, overall, this is a perfectly nice place to set up and get some work done while you get your caffeine fix. read more

So much better than Starbucks. It's tough to find good espresso drinks when you're on the run. I don't always have time or feel like stopping into a traditional cafe so I really appreciate having a quality drive thru option. Also having recently gone vegan, the plant based breakfast sandwich is pretty damn good (though that chicken waffle sounds oh so tempting). Well steamed milks, great shots that aren't burnt, decent breakfast options and friendly baristas. Only complaint is I wish you could use apple pay to tip on the app, you can use it to pay but not tip. read more

I was in the Naperville area and passed by a Peet's which I've been wanting to try so I made a U-turn to check them out! I decided to order the Mocha because that's what I always order at Starbuck's. It was BITTER! So disappointing! Hardly tasted any mocha. I'm willing to give them another try though. This place just opened two weeks ago and maybe I need to try another drink. Prices were still pretty expensive, I thought they were supposed to be cheaper than Starbucks. Maybe I misheard. I loved when you first walk in the coffee aroma just swarms you, all the staff were very friendly and quick and efficient with the service. They even had some free samples. I took some cold drink sample, which was too sweet but I don't know what it was. Overall, will give them a second chance but prices aren't as cheap as I thought they would have been. read more

Being a home coffee roaster, I rarely go out for coffee (NOTHING beats home roasted coffee!), but I have had to make a few "emergency" stop for either a cup or small batch of beanage. Peet's is the only chain I'd buy from. This location is great. once I stopped for an emergency cup early one morning and they weren't open for business yet. Nothing brewed, but they were very accommodating and not only offered a cup of café Americano, but it was on the house! Of course they got a $5 tip for that one. Today I needed an emergency 1\2 lb. while my home roast rests. They comped another free cup with the bean purchase. Peet's is good stuff. If ya can't roast your own, try Peet's. Relatively fresh roasted. the beans I picked up were roasted 9 days ago and they aren't burnt tasting like charbucks. read more

The coffee is good, snacks good, people behind the counter are usually pretty friendly. But I had one particular instance to share: a few months ago I purchased an electric kettle. I use the French press process for my coffee and I want to start with water heated to around 200 degrees. The kettle had controls that permitted setting the thermostat to, say, 200. But no matter what setting I used, the water boiled. I lived with the situation, cooling the water for a few minutes before Pouring. But Last time I was at Peet's I described the situation. They called the manager who, with little hesitation or concern for how long it had been, authorized a swap...no questions asked. The equates to GREAT customer service? 5 stars!! read more

I got their pumpkin latte. Probably the best pumpkin latte I've EVER had. Totally recommend. And they have it all year round. The only downside about this Peet's location is that the wifi isn't very good. It won't allow you to play videos or stream music. Other than that, I think the atmosphere is very good for studying. Peet's is my favorite coffee chain. I was a regular at the one in Wheaton but it went bye bye so now I just go out of my way to come here on the weekends. My two favorite items are the dirty chai (chai with a shot of espresso) or the black tie (cold brew coffee with chicory and condensed milk.) I've used the Drive-Thru once but I prefer to go in. They have plenty of seating and it's built up really nice inside. The baristas are always really nice and are happy to make suggestions or answer questions should you have any. I hope they continue to build up Peet's in the 'burbs and maybe one will make it's way back closer to me in the future. read more

This is DOWN RIGHT some of the BEST coffee I have ever had! Peet's knows how coffee needs to be done! The first time I visited was on their second day open. Parking was a pain and it was ever when the location used to be Caribou Coffee. However, I hoped the parking would somehow be expanded.... But alas; it was not (that is mainly due to the location. So I do not blame Peet's for that). However, the drive thru was a smart move due to lack of parking. But since a lot of care is put into crafting drinks, the wait in line can take a little longer than expected... But your drink will be FANTASTIC after the wait. The interior is very welcoming and relaxing. I could probably get lost in time if I chose to sit in there and do homework. Finally, has anyone even mentioned the STAFF?! They are so incredibly nice! They are also trained very well on the background of Peet's and "what makes their coffee different from other popular coffee spots?" - It was very relieving to get an answer right away to that question. Always drove by this place meaning to check it out and today was that day! As soon as I walked in, I knew this was going to be my new favorite coffee shop in the area. I was impresses by how large this place is, and the many seating options and outlets by nearly every table! I love the structure of Peet's, and the baristas were oh so very nice! I tried the Coconut Black Tie as the barista recommended, and it was absolutely delicious! This was a unique coffee drink I haven't had before. I would have stayed longer to get work done if I hadn't left my notebook at home! This is a review based on the drive-thru here...I've been here a few times now, but never indoors. I'm a coffee to go kind of gal. I attended a Yelp event at the Peet's in Wheaton a few months back and scored some coupons to use so besides the downtown location on Riverside Drive, this is my closest Peet's to home. Service is always on point here - quick, and friendly! Sometimes staff can be over friendly...it's morning, they're all chipper making too much awkward conversation ...and you haven't had your morning coffee yet. Not this place, they are all super great here and not like that at all! :) As a fan of Peet's now I will continue to return to this location...no complaints here! read more

Let me sum this up in a sentence: if you like Starbucks, you will LOVE Peet's. I was beyond ecstatic when I saw Peet's was buying all the Caribou locations. When I lived in Denver, there was a Peet's around the corner from my office, and I kid you not, I was there every day. Starbucks isn't bad... but Peet's is just on another level altogether. The coffee here is much higher quality than Starbucks, so they don't need to roast the s**t out of it to hide it's flaws. Every blend and origin bean is good- my personal favorites are the Baridi Iced Coffee blend and the Major Dickason blend. Staff here are always so nice... same as Starbucks. Given the choice though, I will take Peet's 10 out of 10 times over anything else. I'm so happy they set up shop close to my house! read more

Staff need to communicate and/or mark stuff on tickets. I was there this morning, I told the guy at the register it was to go and light ice in one of my drinks. I then has to repeat all of it twice to the other 2 staff members. On another note, the food was just okay. read more

This place is a regular part of my weekends now. There is plenty of room to sit and visit or work, and it's very open and bright. The staff is friendly and upbeat, and the coffee is good - the Mayan mocha is my favorite. They have some unusual food items - I tried a lentil salad for lunch one day, and it really hit the spot. They also have a cheese/crackers/nut tray that's excellent, and the chocolate chip cookies and cookie bars are really good. I was underwhelmed by the scones, but everything else has been great. I've noticed that the orders take a little longer to fill than I usually experience at a Starbucks, but it's not unreasonable, and if you're not in a hurry, it's no big deal. If I've ordered a drink with foam or whipped cream, it always looks just as good as in the ads, which is a nice touch. I like to do my writing on a vintage typewriter, and the first time I brought it, I was a little nervous that it would be too noisy and I would be asked to leave. Instead, several of the staff members have stopped over to ask about it, and now they recognize and greet me, even if I'm just using the drive-thru and am not there to write. Due to location, parking is limited, so it's best to avoid peak hours if you can. This place has quickly become a great part of the community. read more
