When he identified that my laptop was not likely worth the cost if the repair he, he took a great deal of his time to advise me as to what my next steps would be. He won't answer his phone and won't respond to texts. I went to the address listed on his business card, but it isn't his actual address. (I was told he gets mail delivered there, but he never actually lived there). His website was active when I found him, but now it is showing "expired". -He sent screenshots of the files I wanted to recover, but he hasn't completed the work. -All I want is to receive my hard drive back... (I get it, life happens - I've had urgent life/death matters to deal with too - you can't just disappear and expect people to be happy. Ask a friend to pick up the hard drive and return it to your customer.)
