There is nothing on the website that highlights the additional fees. The additional fees includes the labor wage, charged in 15 minute increments, the heavy item charge applied to any item over 50 lbs, and the charge for recycling air conditioners which was $50 a piece. The website doesn't say it and neither did the free estimate despite specifically mentioning these items! When I learned of these additional charges, when Jon stood in my kitchen and explained them to me, I was in no position to say no. I had to turn in my keys the next day. The items needed to go. The initial estimate to the final cost was off by 50%. On top of it all, I really was left with the impression that very little would be donated and most would be trashed despite the excellent condition the items were in. I will not dispute any other statement I made about the guys doing the actual work. They were awesome and did an amazing job. I feel for them because between the website and the worst estimator aka just want to make the sale! guy their company puts them in a horrible position of dropping all those extra fees in-person. College Hunks shows no care nor empathy for either their haul away customers or their employees by poorly setting expectations and then letting their field crew take the heat for their utter lack of transparency. They managed to get the job completed so quickly--the staff of two was done within 30 minutes. In terms of bid just a bit shocked at how on point of a timing estimate they were able to make based on the picture. One person came back and said he'll provide an estimate once coming to do the job, Busby quoted 40% higher then their quote and JMJ Junk Removal was about four times higher than their quote (the person who contacted me conceded he could try to come closer but would need to see to assess). It would've taken me a week just to wade through and inventory everything. Renan (the owner) came with his crewmate. I explained the situation and how even I didn't know how much there would be. They rolled with it, and and in about 3 hours they had everything moved out. They generously stayed firm on the initial estimate, which was a very fair price, but I managed to argue them up a little - they truly deserved it. Saved my back and so much of my time. They must be Tetris grandmasters: their van was already nearly half-full, and I couldn't believe how they fit all of my junk in their van!

He showed up on time with his crew of two and got right to work. They removed furniture that was suitable for donation as well as stuff that was just junk. The truck he used was a very large box truck which limited back-and-forth trips. The team carefully removed items from our house, navigating furniture around tight corners. They didn't blink an eye when we went to our semi-wild backyard to collect some grungy things. I requested quotes from three companies and Jackson's was, by far, the least costly. It was a pleasure to meet Denté and his crew. They were very professional, focused and understanding, especially when I added a few items I had forgotten about when requesting the original quote.
