I debated what rating I was going to give this place because honestly the food isn't bad- had the matcha latte which wasn't sweet (how I like it) and a delicious egg sandwich. However... the service here was so bad I don't think I'll come back. Tbh, went to the other store front a walk away to get pastries because I was so appalled. For this place- Went on an easy mid-morning weekday, and it took nearly an hour (only know this because I looked at the receipt time) to get my egg sandwich. An HOUR. I think after half an hour was the first time I inquired about my food... they honestly probably forgot. Having worked in the food industry before I know that happens... and I know it can be hard during these times and with possibly new staff that you may be training... but what threw me for a loop was that there was no acknowledgement that this shouldn't have happened. I think I had to inquire twice more after and all I got was "it's coming." And it came... but like... an hour for a breakfast sandwich? Really? Been awhile some I've seen such poor service. read more

Peck's has always been the place you want it to success but somehow, there is something that doesn't work out. I went in for a sandwich and cold brew. Based on my experience I asked them, after paying... how long will it take? 30 minutes for an egg sandwich. Can they please hire more people, or don't offer hot sandwiches? No thanks! read more

Pecks has a good, classic NY coffee shop vibe with some bespoke options like cans of craft beer. They have a massive selection of sweet biscuits, muffins, and croissants. For lunch, they have tasty jewish deli style sandwiches with a gourmet twist (and price point). They also have some prepared foods like quinoa salad, matzo ball soup, and coleslaw. Those are fine but not the best value. Places like Choice Market are much more affordable with their prices and portions. Another deterrent is that they don't provide wifi. They direct you to use spectrum to sign up for a free 30-minute trial, which is a hassle. But they do have a punch card program where you get a free coffee after every ten coffees purchased. Love that. Also the staff at Pecks is wonderful and they deserve lots of good tips. read more

Perfect spot for a rest from an all-day walk. Peaceful covered outdoor place to nibble and drink at the back of the shop. Staff was friendly and helpful. A selection of beverages that should get the spot for most. read more

I came here for a late breakfast. At first, the way the place is set up is appealing: they have a backyard that is spacious. They have good coffee and the sandwiches sound appealing. I ordered a New Mexico, but the sandwich seemed like it had been rushed. Maybe I was expecting something more? Anyway, as the weather gets colder, this is probably a good place for breakfast on the go. read more

This place is good but incredibly overpriced. I got a turkey sandwich and it was the tiniest little thing. Jackpot Pecks! So simple, but not. A maple biscuit perfectly sweet and a kale salad with an interesting thick apricot dressing macadamia nuts for a nice crunch. read more

Convenient bakery with secret beer trove in the back! My cold brew was a bit bitter ($3.50), but the black and white cookie made up for it in its classical sweetness. The vast majority of beers in the back fridge were Evil Twin Brewing Company, but luckily their beer is good and has a lot of variety. There are also some delicious cheeses in the back, so definitely check it out! read more

So, over the past few weeks, I've been back to Pecks at least a dozen times and I need to take back my comment about the too-cool hipster dudes behind the counter. I think I just got some odd mixes in the early interactions, but over a bit more time I've seen a more diverse staff (even a lady!), and everyone has been incredibly friendly. I'm still addicted to their ham sandwiches and black and white cookies. read more

It's a shame that I didnt get to relish in the taste of their sandwiches. Because while a few people along with myself were waiting in pure eagerness to order, a female staff came behind the counter and pulled the sandwich menu off the wall. When it was my turn to order, I was perplexed but rather hopeful. I asked the million dollar question, "Can I order a sandwich? I know exactly what I want." The male staff was a bit sympathetic but appeared to be under massive pressure because it was packed with people and many orders were probably pending. The male staff answered, sadly, "No, our chef is totally backed up with many food orders. We cant take any sandwich orders at the moment." My next question wouldve been a suggestion; why not have the female staff (who pulled the menu off the wall) help the chef? I mean, just saying. Or just hire a second chef. I had some suggestions that could've been helpful. I nodded slightly with a tight smile, "No problem." I shouldve just walked the hell out but obviously I still wanted to give this place a chance so I ordered a matcha tea. I meant to say latte but I was disappointed that I couldn't order my sandwich. So I paid 4.50 (4.50?!) on a matcha tea that I could've made at home. The tea was okay but it wasn't my favorite cup of tea. Overall, I couldn't even rate this entire eatery in fairness but unfortunately, their customer service was a slap in my face. A revisit in the future remains questionable. read more

Peck's - your coffee is decent and your food is great. But your service is abysmal. If there are more than 2 people in line, it will probably be 10 minutes before someone behind the counter is ready to pour a cup of coffee for you. If there are 3+ people in line, the customer better have something to read. The line is so slow, you should put a phone charging station there. I think there are a few possible causes of your issue, Peck's: a) business is woefully understaffed b) staff is woefully underpaid and therefore unmotivated. c) staff is stoned af and woefully unfocused. d) all of the above. woe to those who wait for muffins and joe. read more

After having an Iced Mocha at Pecks, my at home coffee (or any coffee I have ever ordered elsewhere) does not even come close to comparing! The staff at both Peck's and Peck'ish are so welcoming and great. Every time I order my coffee is ready within minutes. I have also had their large chocolate chip cookie, which to my surprise had a little bit of sea salt on top making for the perfect salty/sweet afternoon snack! read more

(Read bottom) Peck's I love you, your pastries are amazing. I've spent 1000's with you personally and bringing your pastries to my clients. I've never used the ticket system for a free coffee. I asked one favor and would appreciate someone listen and take action. Your coffee cups and lids don't fit right. Please just throw them all out and get that shit right. I stained multiple clothes and burned my self a number of times. Just do it, it's not that hard. I said it last week when I was in there after burning myself. I'm not brave because of the Internet, I just want action taken to improve. I sing your praises on pastries, just hook us "on the go" people up with a functioning cup. Thanks for your reconsideration in this matter. (I'll switch you to a 5 ) Brook Ps. I hate that the internet is more powerful than a face to face conversatio Well well, the cups are updated with no leaks and the amazing pastries continue to win over my clients as amazing morning gifts. Very happy to report on a non leaking cup. :-) read more

It's a cute little coffee shop but so much more. As soon as you walk in they have these huge flaky croissants and muffins that look delicious. It all looks so fresh and clean. I didn't get any food but I did get their coffee. Their coffee is actually great. It's strong and hot which I find important, no one wants cold hot coffee. Their ice coffee is smooth and delicious. Yeah it's great place and it's not breaking your bank I spent for both coffees 7 dollars. read more

I wanted to like this place. I really did. While occasionally Peck's has incredible breakfast sandwiches (more on this below), the majority of their products and the overall experience is pretty mediocre. The food: The coffee and espresso are bad. Like solidly bad, and almost always burnt. The iced coffee is fairly good. The sandwiches: IF you have a lot of time (15+ minutes) and the right guy is working (black, has his hair back, apple headphones in), the sandwiches are delicious. They're SUPER overpriced but really solid. If anyone else is working or you're in a rush, don't even bother. I've had them mess up my order (after verifying multiple times), take 45 minutes with no one else in the store, and forget items repeatedly. It's almost shocking how bad they can be. The pastries are fine, sort of hit or miss. The service: Bad. The people who work the cash register are passive aggressive and get really stressed if there's ever more that a few people in line. They're also just generally not very efficient. The space: Good! They have lots of overpriced trendy food products, the inside is sort of tight with some bar seating, and they have a really pleasant back yard. read more

Great breakfast sandwiches, cauliflower soup is amazing, nice selection of cheeses and craft beers. My old go-to when I was going to school down the street. Despite there being a cafe closer to my school, I would always try to leave my house early so I could get the *infinitely* better coffee and pastries at Peck's. The Turkey Club is to die for. I think about it once a week. Breakfast sandwiches and pastries are amazing too!!

Went to Peck's for the first time the other day with a friend to get a late breakfast. I was really excited because soon after we ordered there was a line of 10+ people out the door on the sidewalk, which rose my expectations. I got an iced chai and the Mexican breakfast sandwich. The chai was pretty good and the sandwich was also good but really messy. We sat outside and ate our sandwiches in the cute backyard. I think next time I'll definitely order something different, but I plan on coming back soon! read more

Amazing food, friendly and fast service, and great bowls to go to bring for work lunch. My favorite place in the neighborhood!!!!

Yes, it's bougie and precious as hell and Spike Lee probably hates it but you know what? Their dark chocolate chip cookie with sea salt is so goddam delicious that I had to stop everything I was doing and write this review while half of it was still in my hand. Plus, the staff are sweet and the cortados are bitterly magnificent and the muffins somehow retain the good crunchy part from the top all the way around the sides, and everything I've tasted to far has been a hit. Most of the prepared foods are prohibitively expensive for me, but it is definitely the best coffee I've had in the hood (and I think I've had it all) and I hope Peck's sticks around. I look forward to sampling the growing menu. read more

I like what's going on at Peck's, I just don't feel like I'm totally welcome. It's an accumulation of little things, really. The food, which is consistently quite good, takes kindof a while, like 25 minutes for 2 sandwiches and fries. But, should I wait here? Or go sit down somewhere? Am I being waited on? Is that my sandwich that's been sitting on the counter behind the cashier that nobody noticed for the past few minutes? Or the staff member who seemed kindof miffed when my friend asked if they had ketchup. I guess we were supposed to know to get that ourselves somewhere. Why are the trashcans on one side of the backyard and the tray for dishes on the other side? I'm not trying to be picky. I like Peck's. Individually each of these gripes would be perfectly permissible. But they accumulate to a feeling of being unwelcome. Disorder. It just doesn't feel like they have all their systems in place... read more
