Please note that I cannot possibly reduce to words the interaction I had with Dr Speiser at Peale Vision but I will certainly give it a shot here. To sum it up in as few words as possibly - "utterly entertaining". I would highly recommend visiting with Dr Speiser just for the entertainment value alone. Would I ever purchase any goods or services there? No, of course not. So the story begins with a referral to Dr Speiser by some other optical place I had called looking for an optician. He was highly recommended but I have a feeling that was motivated solely by business interest, especially given Speiser's fervent inquiry into the identity of the person who sent me there even after I told him that I never got a name. When I had called to book the eye exam, I was told that they took my insurance and that I would only be responsible for a co-pay, which is $25 I believe. However, when I got there, things changed entirely. Spieser had me sit down and and took out a pen and pad, kind of like what happens at a car dealership. He asked me about the health of eyes. I said I appreciate his concern but I had just seen an MD a few months prior and had a complete barrage of exams and that I was just there for a typical eye exam in order to get a new pair of glasses. Unfortunately, my response failed to slow him down. It was at that point, if I recall correctly, that he started writing down the different prices for the different levels or types of eye exams. (Levels of eye exams for eyeglasses???, I thought) I reiterated that I was just looking to get a pair of new glasses. Again, this didn't even slow him down. I could write a book on this but suffice it to say that he was pushing for a $149 exam in addition to I believe the one that my insurance would cover save the $25 co-pay, which would bring the total to about $174. There was a third exam for like $50 and I think he suggested purchasing all three. In all honesty, at that point I was hardly listening to him and had one eye on the door. I think my MD eye doctor charges $150. Opticians on my vision plan charge $0. The cherry on the Speiser sundae was his telling me that he's worth it because his exams are "spectacular". As one of the other reviewers here correctly pointed out, Speiser is utterly sarcastic but that just added to the beauty of the interaction. Book your appointment today, folks! read more

Unfortunately, someone broke my 5 year old's glasses at recess today and he was beside himself. His optician was closed, so I drove to and called a bunch of different local eyeglass stores hoping they may have his frames. After no luck, I decided to try Pearl Vision on our drive home. They did not have his frames, but the manager was able to find a spare part that was an exact match and fixed his glasses right then and there- free of charge. My little guy was ecstatic, and I will for sure be going to Pearl Vision and recommending them to friends from this point on. For years I went to Cohen's at the Sunrise mall. After they closed I decided to try the Pearl Vision. I have been wearing contacts for years and know the drill so making appointments and ordering the contacts is never an issue. The one star in this review is solely because the people that work in the front are absolute angels and always price out the lowest prices for me. Dr. Speiser however is extremely unprofessional and sarcastic. I have never met a doctor with a bigger ego that speaks down to patients. The constant remarks are just unbelievable. I believe in second chances and that people can have off days so I ended up going on a second appointment but was disgusted on how he spoke to me and my kids. There are so many other eye doctors on the island and I would not waste your time booking an appointment with Dr. Speiser. read more

This place was great and service was on point. Came here for my annual eye exam for glasses. The Doctor I saw was a women I don't think it's the usual doctor there during the week. She was great though and gave me a lot of useful information on trying to improve my eyesight. Also to get better sleep to stop using my phone at night (also strains your eyes). When it came to choosing my glasses they had so many options. I choose Michael Kors frames and had them by that Wednesday. I had an issue they were a little loose brought them back and they tightened them right up. I will be back when it's time for my contact exam. read more

I've been coming to this Pearl Express location for many years. After a horrible experience at another vision center making my glasses incorrectly repeatedly, I came to Pearl and they made my glasses correctly and quickly. I think the first time I came here I got my glasses in like 2 hours. That was over 5 years go. I won't go anywhere else. I recently had to have a prescription remade because it wasn't strong enough, after going back to my eye dr. and coming back with a new prescription they remade my glasses with no fuss and were happy to do it. They even gave me a credit since I decided to downgrade from polycarbonate lenses to standard lenses ( I was having trouble with that lens type and my prescription). It wasn't even a pearl vision mistake but they will gladly remake a prescription within 30 days of purchase and they even told me they are flexible on that within a few days. Glasses are fine now! They give an insurance discount on glasses and contact lenses. They always get my contacts pretty quickly! Usually about 3 days, it may vary on your brand/prescription though. Depending on your prescription they can make your glasses either the same day or pretty quickly. Even when they did not have my lenses in stock I only waited about 3 days. When they remade my glasses this time around I brought them Friday and picked them up Sat. The staff is always friendly and helpful! I trust Pearle Vision to make my glasses correctly and get my contacts when I need them and that's what they do! FYI if you do go here, avoid Sundays as they are kind of under staffed on Sunday for some reason and the wait can be a bit slow. read more

Stopped in Pearle today to buy new glasses. After looking for about 15 minutes and telling the associate, who was buried into her computer screen googling what looked like vacation spots, that I was overwhelmed with all the choices, her "huh" response and lack of "let me you help you" led me to leave and head somewhere else. read more

One of the worst experiences I had buying a pair of glasses. It felt like buying a new car too much wheeling and dealing over the price no clear price of the options .The Weeknd optometrist gave me a prescription that was so far off it gave me headaches when I figured it out it was the glasses they were kind enough to replace the lenses which took a week and a half more than original pair took to make. Then the lenses were improperly strung into the frames wrong. The lens kept falling out. I'm really unhappy with the service. read more

I just had my eye exam today...after nearly a decade of neglecting my vision. I was able to make an appointment an hour before it would actually occur. I don't have enough GREAT things to say about the staff and Doctor Speiser. Every single person was friendly, informative, and honest down to insurance/lens cost. I even carried a copy of my patient benefits with me to ensure everything matched up price wise and it indeed did. Friendly and honest establishments are hard to come by these days; I'm glad I was able to still find it in this location. Dr. Speiser is hysterical and really has a wonderful bedside manner with his patients. He explained everything thoroughly to me while still managing to get me in and out of the door.
