Dr. Karen is the BEST! Drove almost 2 hours from Northern NJ - DEFINITELY WORTH IT!!! Dr. Karen is very thorough! I find it amazing that it's possible eye doctors to see whether or not a person has diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. Dr. Karen cleans between patients, as well. Dr. Perakalsy was personable, knowledgeable and conducted a very thorough eye examination. They carry a great selection of quality frames which was a bit overwhelming for me but the opticians helped me pick out the right frames that were not only very comfortable but they make me feel beautiful! I had a great exam with Dr. Perakalsky. She was extending thorough. Jodie was a great help making my appointment and made me feel comfortable at my appointment. But Halie is another story. She's not nice and a little rude. Complaining the whole time I was waiting to be seen and after. She's also very pushy. Had a great experience today with Gail! I bought glasses online through Warby Parker and they needed a lot of adjustments. I only wear my glasses at night after taking out my contacts, so it wasn't important to me to spend several hundred dollars on glasses. However, you obviously get what you pay for and the glasses I got needed a lot of adjustments. I called them in the morning to see if I needed an appointment, and they asked me to just call prior to coming to make sure it wasn't busy and I could come right in. I called 15 minutes prior and they advised no one was in the store, so I could come right in. Gail made numerous adjustments and even took the lenses out to heat the frames on the top because they were so stiff and almost digging into my face. I am trying them out tonight and the adjustments she made have completely changed the glasses. They are so comfortable now and more importantly, I feel like I can see properly out of them. I will definitely be going back here in October when I am due for my contact lens exam and will purchase glasses from them in the future as well. read more

Did you ever expect to be blown away by shopping at an eye glass store? I didn't, but I was. I've needed glasses probably forever. I hate getting my eyes checked, I've had several eye operations done while I was an infant and it must have ingrained some type of pure eye doctor phobia in me. So I wasn't thrilled, but alas the significant other won out (she always seems to) and it was off to Spectacular Eyewear (where she got her glasses) to get an eye exam and pick out some glasses if I needed them. We didn't make an appointment but I was able to be seen by the doctor within minutes of my arrival. The eye doctor at this place is awesome, I explained my phobia and it was no big deal. Every little detail was explained to me before it happened and the process was relatively painless, though I'd rather have been anywhere else this was the most at ease I have been throughout an eye exam and that was important to me, but this wasn't even the best part of this whole thing... ... When I was done with my exam (and yeah, I need glasses, I thought I was exempt from aging? I guess not) I was setup at one of the tables in the front of the store. I'm not really a fashionable type of person, I wear sandals, shorts and t-shirts or shoes, jeans and t-shirts and sometimes sweat shirts. I don't pay all that much attention to that sort of thing, so in a way I wasn't ready for the process of selecting glasses. I was primarily concerned with comfort, having not worn glasses before I didn't want to suddenly feel like I had to adjust to something. My salesperson was awesome, not only did she seemingly have an unlimited supply of glasses for me to try on she explained to me while certain styles fit my face, my nose and my eyebrows better than others. As I started getting more into it and got a feel for what I liked we quickly narrowed down the options to a few different frameless set of glasses. I ended up going for a very light frameless set that's light in color. I guess they're considered designer frames but I didn't mind spending the money on these because of how good I feel when I wear them. The 5 star part of this whole review is because of how easy the entire process was and also because how cool I felt after I got my glasses, not only can I see better, but I feel like I look better. I never thought something that I was so apprehensible about could turn out to be such an appearance confidence booster. My salesperson made me feel awesome, which is great when you find out your eyes are aging and you can't see as well as you used to! I would recommend this place to anyone, I hope I never break my glasses and that my eyes don't get worse but if they do, I'll be back. read more

Spectacular Eyewear is spectacular! I'm sure I'm not the first person to say that. My mom is a nursing home resident nearby, and her glasses were crooked. The optometrist wouldn't be showing up at the nursing home for another 3 weeks. I explained that when I called, and when I went in, they adjusted them at no cost. I am an "older" woman with white hair and blue eyes. For years I have been wearing rimless glasses and loved them. When I came in for my annual exam about 2 months ago, Jodie urged me to try on some glasses with colored frames. She felt that some color on my face would be quite flattering, since I have a fair complexion and light hair. I was VERY resistant! After a little coaxing, I decided to try on just one or two. Well, I was hooked! Now I couldn't decide between red frames, blue frames or purple frames. I decided on a beautiful periwinkle blue (to compliment my eyes, of course, lol)......and I absolutely love them! Really had a great experience here today. Both ladies I worked with went out of their way for me. They made sure I was able to pick the perfect glasses. I did not have a lot of experience picking out glasses, so they created a helpful system so I can eliminate while I was trying on. The saleswomen was incredibly knowledgable as well.
