Erica was incredibly kind and welcoming from the moment I walked in. My eyes were extremely dry and uncomfortable, and she helped me right away by giving me an emergency pair of contacts so I could get through the day. Her compassion and willingness to help really stood out to me. Because of her, I decided to switch my eye care to this Pearl Vision. I took my kid here, was told my kid needed glasses. Something told me this was not true. I decided to schedule an appointment at a different place we're they actually do 3d testing of the eye, they took pictures and a video and came to know my kids eyes are as healthy as can be. THIS PLACE JUST WANT YOUR $$$ don't damage your kids eyes by going ahead and making them wear glasses they DONT NEED!! I would get a 2nd opinion if your kid/s or yourself "needed glasses". They are still stuck in the Covid age. Had an appointment at a certain time. So I get there early. My appointment time comes and goes, then I see people that got there after me go ahead of me. So my thinking was, it's ok maybe they were running late and had an appointment before me. But to wait over 45 minutes after my appointment just to see the doctor it's kind of disappointing. I didn't have this experience a year ago. However the service from the staff and doctor made up for it. Great people working here. read more

I called a day before to ask if I need an appointment to get replacement glasses was told no just come on in. Well been waiting since 11:50am and it's now 12:50pm almost an hour. Caroline actually let a lady who was in front of me and another couple go ahead of us. So she can let her friend out faster. Walking around looking at glasses the. Sat back down not even acknowledge at all never again. Update part Before I just walked out Caroline decided to take Andrew the customer before the 2 teenagers were there before and finished their eye exam. Please save your time and money. I gave this place several opportunities. Every time they treated me like they were in a rush to get my money. They lied to me about their insurance on glasses and about what I qualified through my insurance. They were very rude when questioned. My appointment with Dr. Nagendran was on time, smooth as silk, and she was very pleasant in her treatment. I could not have been more pleased in my visit. My fitting for glasses with Mr. Prieto was equally as pleasant. He took the time to make sure I found the frames that were just right for me. I really dislike how the staff act. They're always trying to push the higher priced frames. If you're upfront with them about not wanting to spend too much they start acting like bigger jerks. (Like you're unimportant) They lack customer service skills and forget that customers are the reason they're employed. I've dealt with the two older ladies who work there and both are rude. Especially the heavier set lady, she definitely needs to drop the attitude. I don't understand how people work in customer service and aren't friendly. I went in at 6pm ( they close at 7) and she (the heavy set lady) was rushing me off because she kept mumbling it was late and she had to go. Please don't act like you're doing me a favor when I'm clearly a paying customer. And don't rush me off because it's 12 minutes after your clock out time when I'm still standing in front of you. She passed me off to a gentleman working there and repeating how late she was and had to leave. I work in the medical field with walk-ins and scheduled patients and I would never dare to complain to my patient how late it is. Trust me I never get off at my scheduled time. I went in to get 1 pair of glasses and nothing else. The first time everyone was nice. I got my glasses, spent over $250 for the one pair of glasses. When I tried them on I felt my vision was blurry. Words on the computer were bleeding. I went back to get my eyes and the glasses checked. There was a different eye doctor this time who attended me. She was thorough but didn't really know how to explain what was going on. When she asked one of the lady's/ladies who works at the reception area, it turns out my glasses were the wrong prescription in one eye. Causing the blurry sight. I left the glasses there on that Friday. I called Monday to check the status, and a lady on the phone told me they didn't have the lenses in stock and that no layer than Tuesday (today) they would be ready. I called back today like 25 minutes ago, spoke to a guy who checked and told me there is nothing in for me. He tells me no later than Thursday. I tell him, I was told no later than Tuesday ( today). They got my prescription wrong. He gives the "manager is gone for the day" garbage. I insist something be done. He tells me he will call the manager and call me right back. He calls me JUST NOW, literally. Tells me tomorrow. I'm writing this review because this is a garbage experience. Paying that much for 1 pair of glasses made in-house @ Pearle Vision is crazy enough. If they're not ready by tomorrow I'm getting my money back and going somewhere else. read more

My only experience with Pearle Vision on Milwaukee Ave was buying a pair of glasses from them, but it was a good experience. I had trouble deciding what to get due to the nice selection. The staff was helpful in answering any questions and giving advice, especially Will. He gave his opinion on what frames looked best, was informative about the type of lenses I would be getting, and made ordering an easy process. I brought my mom in for an eye exam and to get new glasses. The receptionist was very friendly. We were helped in a timely fashion. They were very patient with my mom during her exam as well in selecting a frame, as my mom was indecisive on which frame to select. The glasses were ready in two weeks, which is how long they said it would take to have her glasses ready. Ultimately, they looked great and felt great on her. Had a great experience here after making an online appointment through their website. Appointment ran on time (Even 10 minutes early), doctor and assistant were friendly and professional. Incredibly quick and accurate eye exam. Very happy with my new prescription, and they even measured my PPD happily after I mentioned I was going to be buying glasses online. Caroline was so helpful! My fathers is elderly and breaks his glasses at least once a month. I was unable to order him new glasses or fix his old ones because his optometrist is closed at this time. Caroline fixed the current glasses and suggested a frame that is close to my dads current ones. I've been to this location a couple of times for my annual eye exam and I've had nothing but good experiences. I came in recently with a pair of old frames I wanted to put new lenses in and Steve offered to make some minor tweaks to the frames and nose pads that seriously have made them the most comfortable glasses I've ever worn (I've had about 4 different pairs in the last 10 years). The anti glare lenses are amazing and my frames no longer slip down my nose when I look down. The staff is always welcoming and ready to help you even when they're busy. read more

It takes a lot for me to give just one measly star. Look at my other reviews, I like everything. That being said, this place is like the Dunkin Donuts of eye care. It is so completely apparent that the number one priority here is to keep the franchise profitable and not to ensure the best for their patients. To begin with, Pearle as a whole is incredibly expensive. But I know that's something determined by their corporate office, so I can't fault them for that. What I totally do fault them for is the fact that they push things on you. The doctor gave me a guilt trip after I told him I would prefer a lower priced lens that was of a similar quality after he tried to push the most expensive brand on me. After I declined to purchase there because the price for said lenses were- no exaggeration THREE TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE than online, I was treated very differently for the remainder of my visit. The last straw was yesterday when I needed a replacement lens. The doctor simply refused to let me purchase a single lens or single pair. She said I had to purchase an entire box which I know damn well is not the case. If you're headed here prepare to spend way more than America's Best and get ready for a guilt trip if you're not. read more

This place has great customer service. My dog chewed up my glasses and I frantically ran into the store 1.5 hrs before they closed. They not only had my glasses in stock but were able to have them fitted with the lens replaced before they closed. It's a decent eye shop w regard to selection, but this location has outstanding Optometrists and an equally great owner, Danny. I've been going here for several years and they always get you in for the exam quickly and make sure you're good to go w all things eyes (health-wise and products/accessories). The staff and optometrists are really nice! My only complaints are that it took me about 4 different trials of contacts to find ones that worked for me here. I've worn contacts for 15 years and have never had an issue like that before. The optometrist though was willing to work with me on finding a good pair though. The facilities could use some work too; a little bit old. Also some of the staff only speaks Spanish. (I live in Logan Square; I should learn some more Spanish I guess.) There is nothing drastically wrong with this place, but they don't have any affordable frames. I didn't look at the prices until after I had gotten my exam, and didn't want to start over somewhere else. All the frames were designer prices, so with lenses they were $300. They weren't even especially nice ones. The sale they had in the window was not as advertized, so I did not get perscription sunglasses like I planned. read more

Easy to get an appointment, good glasses selection, super-friendly staff and excellent optometrists. They take the time to talk to you and answer any questions you have. They also gave me a free trial pair of the contacts they recommended, and two scripts (one for my old brand, one for the new - same Rx) for contacts so that I could make the decision when I wanted to as to what contacts were best for me. This location has been around for years. The staff is great, especially Carolina and Danny, the owner. I was able to book an appointment right away and they were even flexible when I had to switch the hour last minute. While the office is older than a lot of the new and trendy locations, the quality of the customer service is great. Dr. Viktoriya Marmur conducted my eye exam and she was very professional, friendly and explained everything that was being done, and what the recommendations for treatment were and why. I also explained some discomfort I was feeling with my current contacts and Dr. Marmur took the time to go over a few of my options and didn't try to steer me in any particular direction but instead explained why some lenses might feel more comfortable than others. I decided I would get glasses as well since they had a 2 for 1 deal going. They had a lot of really nice, modern and brand name glasses. A real selection for all sorts of budgets. I was having a hard time making up my mind but the staff was very patient and friendly and let me take my time (about an hour and a half) to decide. I recommend this Pearl Vision office to everyone! They really know how to take care of long time customers and I appreciate that. They also speak Spanish and Polish here. read more

Terrible service and they printed out the wrong prescription. I asked for a copy because I wasn't able to make a purchase yesterday. Scottie became rude. It took 10 minutes of convincing her to give me a copy of my prescription. I came home to compare it to the exam I got last month at a different business and there are major differences. It was ok, the doctor was very nice but the prices were ridiculous. I went there on a friends refferal because they took my insurance. Even though the frames were covered I still paid 200 out of pocket, and couldnt afford the transitions that I wanted! I looked at the receipt which said I saved 500 dollars!!! Since when are glasses 700???? I have a high prescption so I always need to get the mid grade lenses to make them fit the frames and this time I opted for the half and half so it would be cheaper and it was still 200 by itself!! RUN! Their optometrist are average if not poor. It took three different optometrist and many hours (wasted my time) to get my prescription correct and I have a simple prescription. And the kicker is that THEY SEEM NOT TO CARE. They act like they care but don't let it fool you, the staff feels slimy and very dishonest. And I had to wait a couple of weeks to get my glasses. A severe eye reaction brought me into this office unexpectedly. The staff could see how much pain I was in and got me into see the doctor immediately. I was so impressed with the care I received from Dr. Brian Dowling. He was thorough in his exams, patient in his explanations and perscriped an effective treatment plan. Overall, he made me feel like he cared about me as a patient and was personally committed to make sure I healed as quickly as possible.
