I am new to the area, and needed contacts pronto as I had run out without realizing. The booking process was smooth and painless, the front desk staff being extremely kind and helpful. Dr. Billings was fantastic and my new prescription is better than it has been in about 5 years. I came in for contacts, but after reviewing my insurance with the front staff, discovered that it was easy to upgrade from my 15 year old lenses as well. Their selection is very nice with frames that seem to suit a wide variety of faces. It's pretty difficult to find glasses that don't make me look like a cave creature, but there were 3 or 4 frames that I had a hard time deciding between. I have visited this location twice and both times, the staff was very friendly and accommodating to my needs. I am new to the Castle Rock area and needed a contact lens exam, as well as new eye glasses for computer work. Dr. Billings was very thorough with my exam and gave me multiple lenses to trial (as I was having issues with eye dryness). After trialing 3 different lenses, she recommended another brand that she did not have in stock in my prescription strength, but she was more than willing to order some for me to try. The front desk staff was also very helpful in picking out new frames and I appreciated their honesty and candor with my choices. I returned a week later to pickup my new glasses and trial contact lenses. My second visit was also very satisfactory, with Dr. Billings checking the fit and comfort of the new trial contact lenses and the front desk staff ensuring my new eye glasses fit correctly and worked for my vision. The only knock I have against this location is they are not always available to contact via telephone. I tried them later in the afternoon a couple times, and each time my call was sent to voicemail. A minor complaint, but loses one star from my review. read more

I had such a poor experience here that next time, I will go somewhere else and pay out-of-pocket. As another reviewer mentioned, this place feels SO scammy and has no regard for the patient. I am formally filing a complaint with Pearle Vision's headquarters. My appointment was at 11:00 and I wasn't seen by the doctor until 11:55. I waited the entire time. Once I was seen by the doctor, she asked what kind of contacts I wore. I told her that I've been wearing a certain brand for a few years and they were the best contacts I've ever worn. She said "oh, those are old and outdated". Odd, because I literally purchased them with another eye doctor a year prior. In return, I told her that I've tried other pairs and wanted to stick with what I have and she turned her back on me, literally, and said she was giving me the Bausch and Lomb brand. She then asked what saline solution I used and I told her I use the Costco brand because it's affordable. She then said "no, use BioTrue, it's by the same contact brand I'm giving you so it's better". I told her it was 3x the price at Costco and she again, ignored me. I finally looked at the prescription and sure enough, it was for a different brand of contacts than I told her three times I wanted. I'm sure she has some deal with B&L and would rather make money from them than do ANYTHING that I requested or needed. I was finally able to check out and at this point, was running late for my next appointment since I waited so long. I told the front desk staff that I wanted my Rx so I could order from Costco and spend HALF of what they would charge. Someone else said she would price match if I came and sat down but I was running so late, I asked her to please call me. She said she would in 10-15 minutes. Three hours later, they called. I still had no RX that I paid for. Again, completely ignoring what I asked for, she talked about the B&L contacts. I said "No, I'm buying the kind that I want from Costco" and she told me I would have to come in for another appointment to have my Rx changed. EVEN THOUGH I told my doctor four times by the end of our appointment that I wanted the brand I always wear. Now I'm battling Costco to get what I've requested because the doctor refused to have any regard for me, the patient. What a blatant example of a medical professional caring more about their bottom line than the patient. I will never, ever return and strongly discourage you from doing so as well. read more

I'm new to the eyecare world. But my experience has not been fantastic. If you're looking to get a good eye script, this might not be the place for you. It took me two attempts for them to get my eyes right for glasses, and I've given up on them trying to get contacts right...I actually have worse vision with their contact prescription. They are expensive as hell oh, so you'd think they get it right. But the staff is really pretty! ...just kidding I would have no idea, because I still can't see. read more

I had one experience at the Castle Rock store of getting an exam & prescription sunglasses. I will not return to this location again. The front office technicians are extremely off-putting & rude making the entire experience--from appointment setting to picking up product--uncomfortable & tense. Both workers act as if your patronage is an inconvenience. Engage them with simple 'hellos' if you want to practice your patience & difficult people skills. The doctor was friendly enough & efficient. He's definitely being brought down by the front staff. I also paid for & received nice glasses--but a competent doctor & a proper pair of eyewear seem the basic standard to me, one should expect those things from any vision store. The Dr. was nice, the staff was pleasant-ish but the business model this company uses will feel familiar if you've ever attended a timeshare presentation or bought a used car. I don't remember Pearl Vision having this mentality in the past. They intentionally have the Dr.s write "specialty" prescriptions for all kinds of add ons and upgrades for thing that might be nice, but not necessarily practical or covered by insurance. When you ask for anything less, they give you a whole bunch of BS in the hopes you'll give up or get confused and give in. Any place that refuses to accommodate their patients right to buy the glasses that work for them functionally and financially isn't worth going to. The tactics used by this office are offensive, especially when realize you can get the exact glasses you wanted right down the street....and covered by insurance. read more

Showed up for my child's appointment and was rudely greeted by the staff because I didn't have a mask on. When I explained that I have a respiratory condition, she said the doctor is pregnant and I can't be in there. Why wasn't this told to me a week ago when I scheduled the appointment? If my child wasn't having issues with the current glasses and could wait, I would have left. Now my wife, who isn't completely fluent in English and understands none of what is going on with our insurance, discounts, warranty, etc. is inside texting me to ask for help. Apparently people with respiratory issues have no rights in Colorado? I was supposed to have my appointment this Saturday and my wife's after that. Cancelled those appointments and will never bring my family here again. Horrible treatment! read more

2 star because i liked the lady who did my exam. 1st issue, This was a very bad experience. The receptionist was rude and did not have a sense of the customer experience. She tried to argue about my insurance status and told me she could not find me in the system. She told me to call my insurance so the next day i did and they reassured i was good to go. I came back in after i printed my insurance coverage off so it was not a issue and she told me i was not covered with a attitude. I kindly asked if she could check the spelling in my name and she did not like that I insulted her intelligence. Another receptionist pointed out she had the wrong birthday and she was even more upset. 2nd issue, I asked the male and female receptionist what the buy one get one free was and they told me they did not know. How do you not know when you work here? I quickly looked online and resolved my own questions i had. 3rd issue, I am not gonna bring up I will never return my business read more

I didn't have a huge problem with this place, but it was just too expensive, even if you have insurance. I used to go to doctor's vision works and they charge half of what pearle does. Also I don't like how Pearle Vision MAKES you either pay to get your eyes dilated or you have to get pictures taken of your eyes, both cost extra. That shouldn't be a requirement, but an option. Thats just to get more money. Then, after I was done with everything, they told me it would take two weeks to have my glasses ready. 2 weeks!? At vision works it took a couple hours. I won't be coming back unless I want to be charged a crazy amount ON TOP of insurance. Ridiculously expensive. read more

Prior to moving to their new location, this had been my "go to" vision care store. For several years they operated by the standard, "if you have a problem, just let us know at any time, and we will help you." That attitude is gone now, and they are no longer willing to standby their work, apparently. Whereas before, I had to make several tweeks to eyeglasses due to the nature of my job, this time I was greeted with "It's been over 30 days; did you buy insurance?" My question would, be, if you stand by your work, why would I need insurance??? Eyes don't change that much in 30 days, or even 6 months (mine have changed just a little in 15 years). I guess these businesses will never figure out that they just lost several thousand dollars worth of business annually, as I won't ever be back nor will my wife...yet they are quite content with the line "why didn't you buy insurance."
