    Dip Powder, real nails!
    Theresa P.

I recent went to a different nail place because my regular salon "Pearl nails didn't have the color at the time, so I went to Bliss nail spa on Lynx Ave and they really messed me up big time. My nail beds were a mess and they did a really horrible job. Thank god it was no charge, so I went back to Lee at pearl nails and she took the time to fix me right up. I really love Pearl nails they are really reasonable and Lee cares for her customers. Lee fixed my nails but I only got a neutral color this time. If you are reading this make sure that you visit pearls nails. Everyone there is really friendly and fast!

She did an amazing job on my disney themed nails. She was very accommodating as I came late.

I went here a few days ago because I was desperate to get my nails done and my usual place couldn't take me. I was hopeful given the reviews were pretty good but I can't say it was a great experience. The place is dingy, dirty and just gross overall. I should have turned around the second I got there. The tables were unlevel and leaned a lot, it didn't seem like the place had ever been cleaned. When they sat me at a station, they "cleaned" the table with a dry brush only. All the techs had certificates hanging that they had been certified in barbicide cleaning but didn't seem that they were actually cleaning anything. They sat me down and one person started filing the gel off my nails and wrapping them in remover/foil, then another person came to actually take the gel off and another person did the rest of the service so that was really weird. I asked for my nails to be cut as they were super long and the woman barely cut anything off which in retrospect is probably better because the tools they used on me were definitely not sanitized - she just pulled the clippers out of a random drawer. When she was filing to shape my nails, she was very aggressive and filed my fingers too which hurt and made me bleed. She seemed completely unphased that she cut me. The actual paint job was fine but two of my nails ended up with air bubbles in the gel which then popped two days later and resulted in basically cracks in the paint two days later which is super frustrating. Until this place cleans up their space and uses sanitizing methods, I would not recommend.

Possibly the very best customer service in town. I was so delighted to find out this shop. Each and every person here is well trained and skillful in great communication. They will tell you what really works for you and what doesn't. What I like most about them is their honesty in consulting which colors, shapes, designs..etc that should you best.

Went here for the first time today, I'm from out of town and had some time to kill. It's not very nice looking but I read the couple of good reviews on here so I figured what the heck. I asked for a full set. She cut my real nails & didn't even file them before putting the set on. Also during this process she just threw one of the nails behind her on the floor - confirming my thoughts about it being a little dirty in there. Although I still rated a 2 because they were nice & my nails look good. It was weird she didn't even put a base coat before the color polish. They also didn't have a nail dryer, I just had to sit there with my hands in front of the fan. Lastly - make sure you have enough cash for your tip - they couldn't make change for a $20 for me.

I actually decided to go to Pearl Nails based on the reviews on yelp... and to be honest it was such a great experience. The shop was small but cozy. I went in for dip nails (first time), where I explained to the tech that I have recently removed my acrylic nails and trying to grow my nails, she listened and was so gentle and nice. She did an amazing job.

    Great job on my nails!

Today I stopped in to get my nails done and wasn't sure what to expect. The place is a bit cliche' but the girl who did my nails was wonderful. I'll be back!

Love my nails and will definitely be back!

I was a walk-in because I was told that there would be plenty of places between the hours of three and five. My aunt, a spirited, senior citizen and I wanted to get our pedicure and some overdue relaxation at a day spa nearby. Here are the pros: Greeted by a friendly nail technician and aesthetician Chloe There were ample chairs for pedicures, and several seats for nail services Beverages, snacks, and light cocktails were offered and automatically served (included) Children are welcomed for services and in the Salon parents are getting their services done (I am not sure if this is a policy, but I was definitely surprised to see a handful of children throughout the spa and quite a bit of noise from one child in particular) You can distinguish all of the technicians based on their uniform, a beautiful red spa technician's coat The massage chair and the steam therapy were amazing The holistic approach with real oranges, milk and natural soap was used throughout the pedicure experience The best part and totally put me to sleep, the aromatherapy neck, warming pillow, and the five minute massage (seated-neck-and-shoulders)I will be back every month for this in particular with Chloe) I wouldn't be honest if I didn't give you the cons: When I walked in the door, it was a very tight space for customers to enter an exit. I was nearly bumping into people signing in and exiting and coming in behind me. I wasn't sure what the sign-in process was supposed to be like, however, I had to ask. I walked through the spa and was pleasantly surprised that there were so many seats. Unfortunately, there were so many seats for people to have their nails and toes done that there were only a few seats for customers who had to wait. The price of the pedicure was fairly priced however, I felt like I was was pressured to into an up-charge and asked to go with gel polish When discussing my return to the salon, my aunt mentioned she would like to come back with her senior citizen, friends. The technician first stated that the typical price of a decent pedicure would be about $55, then she said it would be more like $65 and above above. This seemed like a lot for seniors. Vicky seemed to need step-by-step directions to complete the same pedicure. The outcome was amazing However, my Aunt had nail polish all over her feet because Vicky did not instruct her to sit and have her toes dried. When I was sitting near my aunt who was having her toes repaired after a polish debacle, I was asked to move from a seat that was needed by a customer. I could understand why I needed to move. however, the technician did not have to be so rude and to say to me "you need to move". I didn't catch her name, but she was in fact, pregnant on the day that I was in for my service. Vicky did not execute in the same way as Chloe she seemed to disregard the need for drying time of regular polish and started polishing my aunt's toes in the middle of the Salon that was outrageous and for that my aunt will not be back with her friends. I must confirm that I did pay in full and I did tip Chloe 20% and Vicky 20% of the cost we paid for our services. Finally, both technicians got tips, however I will only be able to recommend that customers who read this review, work with Chloe when consider considering this nail spa.

The technician was incredibly rude right from the consultation. I needed a full set and wanted a pedicure, too. When I tried to explain what I wanted for my feet, she became loud and told me not to "tell her what to do." I was simply trying to communicate my preferences, which is standard for any customer. She insisted I should just say "make it look good" and leave it at that. I felt embarrassed and nearly walked out mid-service. She also tried to talk me out of a pedicure, saying if I didn't like the way they were I should stop looking at my feet. I have never experienced this level of unprofessionalism at a nail salon. While the nails and feet did turn out looking nice, the bad attitude and complete lack of tact from the technician ruined the visit. A 2-star rating is generous, as the customer service here desperately needs improvement. While I do not recall the name of the technician, she sat in the second row from the front desk and on the right hand side.

The male technician who did my pedicure was excellent. He was professional, thorough, and did a great job. I have absolutely no complaints about the service he provided. Unfortunately, the condition of the salon during this visit made it difficult to relax. I saw roaches crawling on the seating area, which immediately raised concerns about cleanliness. There was also a spider in the salon that several employees were loudly talking about and trying to kill, which made for an uncomfortable atmosphere while clients were trying to enjoy their services. The biggest issue for me was watching a scrub product spill onto the workstation. Instead of discarding it, one of the technicians scooped it up with his bare hand and put it back into the bottle. Seeing a product that is used on clients' skin handled that way was very concerning and made me question the salon's sanitation practices. This experience was surprising because it wasn't like this during my previous visits. I hope this was just an off day and that management takes these concerns seriously. The technicians are talented, but cleanliness and proper sanitation are just as important as good customer service. At this point, I'm not sure if I'll return, which is unfortunate because I've had good experiences here in the past.

I FINALLY FOUND IT FOLKS!!!…read more I've been going to Refresh Nail Spa since winter 2023, after searching for salons that offer drill-free manicures and focus on natural nail care like IBX treatments. I ended up finding Bernadette, an independent nail tech who works there--and she's been an absolute gem. While she does use a drill (contrary to what I originally searched for), she's incredibly skilled, gentle, and precise--so much so that it never damages my nails. Her technique is both efficient and mindful, striking the perfect balance between machine and hand filing. Initially, I was getting regular gel manicures, but Bernadette truly cares about nail health, and she suggested switching to builder gel (BIAB). It was a game-changer. Builder gel doesn't require soaking off and allows for continuous fills--meaning you can build on top of your last set without compromising nail integrity. Since switching, my nails have grown so long, strong, and healthy, and a single BIAB manicure can last me up to 6 weeks! Beyond nails, Bernadette is a wonderful person--easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and deeply caring. She also specializes in pedicures for clients with diabetes or other health conditions, which speaks volumes about her expertise and sensitivity to clients' unique needs. If you're looking for a thoughtful, health-conscious nail experience, I highly recommend Refresh Nail Spa and Bernadette in particular. My monthly visits have become something I genuinely look forward to.

She is a delight in every way--knowledgeable, gentle, and truly dedicated to her clients. Bernadette goes above and beyond to meet individual needs, making each client feel like a priority in the most sanitary atmosphere. After moving from the West Coast, I wanted to continue using non-toxic products, specifically Light Elegance. Bernadette not only consulted with my previous artists but also went the extra mile to purchase everything I needed to continue my nail care routine seamlessly. Her dry pedicures, which are actually certified medical pedicures, are nothing short of transformative. Her work speaks volumes, and so does she--always professional and attentive. Bernadette is in high demand, and for good reason. If you want to experience top-tier nail care, join the waiting list as she is appointment only. I'm very grateful to have found such a talented and caring nail artist. Highly recommend!

I paid approximately $70 for a builder gel overlay manicure. Within just two days, one nail broke. I returned to the salon and they repaired it, explaining that it may have happened because my nails were short. Unfortunately, the problem didn't stop there. By day 12, several nails were lifting and flaking off. In my experience, a builder gel overlay should last significantly longer than that, especially at this price point. I returned to the salon before the two-week mark. Because they were busy, I told them I was fine with receiving a regular gel manicure instead of having the builder gel completely redone. I fully expected to pay something for the service, but I was surprised when I was charged full price despite the original builder gel overlay failing in less than two weeks. I didn't want to make a scene or put staff in an uncomfortable position, so I paid and tipped as usual. However, after I got home, I submitted a message through the salon's online contact form. I explained my disappointment, acknowledged that I had otherwise been happy with the salon, and stated that I wanted to continue as a customer. I simply felt that charging full price after a premium service failed so quickly was not a fair resolution. The salon never responded. To me, the lack of response was the most disappointing part of the experience. Nail services can occasionally have issues, and I would have been understanding if someone had simply acknowledged my concerns and attempted to make things right. Instead, I paid for a failed builder gel service, paid again for a replacement manicure, and received no follow-up whatsoever. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Stories Salon for nail services.
