Every time I make an appointment with Amber, who's been my tech for over a year now, she always does a phenomenal job. The environment is always so peaceful and the salon usually has some kind of ambience on their tv that's very pleasant. Around the holidays, the salon team decorates the place, always making it look so nice to look at! As far as my tech, anytime I want her to do a specific pattern or design, she usually does a pretty great job meeting my expectations!! There has never been a bad experience here! Came back on a Saturday morning after making an appointment last week for sparkly matte black nails. Pay attention to what I asked for be what I received. Solid 4/5 because service was great as usual and precision was almost there. Also no clean up around nails after (nothing a little nail polish remover can fix but I gotta do that on my own at home). I've been to Bliss a few times since it's close to home, and I prefer to support local businesses. The salon is clean, and I enjoy my pedicures here. For my most recent gel manicure, I asked for a pretty simple design and showed them the inspiration photo. They didn't have the exact shade of sage green I wanted, so they chose the closest one they have (color is DND 096 Olive Garden). It's not bad, it's just darker than what I was going for. While doing my manicure, the guy (Andy) had to ask one of the female employees to come over and do the half green/half white design on my nails (which again, I think is pretty basic & nothing too complex). I had her tweak it a few times. I think it turned out okay but not the best for what I paid. A few hours later (just at home doing nothing), I noticed that my polish started forming bubbles / looked like small dents only on some of my fingers (and yes, I properly let it dry under the light and took my hands in & out whenever they told me to). A few days later, those nails that had the bubbling started chipping where the bubbles were. The second & third photos I posted are from today (3 weeks later) - the polish is still decent minus the two pointer fingers where the bubbling happened and then the cracking where the polish "sank in". I do like coming here but hopefully I don't come across this issue again. read more

while the actual services I have received here are great, there have been MULTIPLE times I have had an appointment and then sit with feet in water for more then 45 minutes with no one saying anything to me. When I approached the young girl at reception about the 45 minute wait all said was "we are understaffed today, sorry" I replied that she was the one who took my reservation and could have told me that when I called. Of my recent mini spa experiences I've sought out who'd of known it was in my own neighborhood. Literally walking distance from my home! And IT'S GRAND. My artist technician was Kenny. He's quite good with his technique and very expedient. The other staff members are very helpful polite and professional. At one point the offerings of beverages and or snacks were made by my artist and later on, a technician who was not with a client. I felt like I was welcomed. Prices were reasonable considering I had a removal and then a fresh new full set. I will be returning to take advantage of the other options and services. The salon is clean, smell and ambiance are all appealing. Restrooms are clean and neat. Tools and equipment are up to date. I highly recommend. read more

I went in to get a pedicure. I felt rushed. The lady working on my feet asked if I wanted my callus on my right toe cut off AND said it would COST ME MORE. I'm a guy, I didn't really care but since she sounded like needed more money, after all she was either CRITICIZING MY FEET or she WANTED MORE CASH. I'm so disappointed with Bliss Nail Spa. I had become a very loyal customer. It was my go to salon for my dip manicure and occasional pedicure/polish change. I was spending at least $75 each visit. It wasn't until this last visit that I realized this salon was not for me and that I needed to start looking for a new salon. Let me just say I did have many good experiences at Bliss. The front desk crew was always friendly, the salon itself is huge, nicely decorated, and is always clean. I did have a couple of experiences where my technician wasn't as detailed as others and nails weren't as nicely done, but it wasn't enough for me to stop going. However, this last visit I was serviced by Sarah who moved so quickly through my polish change and dip manicure. I like efficient technicians, but I also want to feel like there is a focus on attention to detail and quality work. My nail shape wasn't right, the dip job left color on the side of my nails, and I had a nail chip the same day. Not cool. The icing on the cake was when I went back the next day to have them fix my chipped nail they told me Sarah was the only one who could fix it. There were plenty of other available techs. I asked how long she was going to be, they said an hour. That's when I lost it. Unacceptable. The nice lady at the front finally allowed another tech to fix my nail. Long story short...this place is way too pricey for the inconsistent service. I will not be back. read more

Just walked out. I asked for the nude nails on the 2nd picture. I got the 1st picture with the GLITTER pink nails.... the staff was nice but to walk out after paying 70 dollars for something you didnt ask for is SUPER disappointing. I should have said something while she was doing them but i thought maybe i was exaggerating and the color was just off because it wasn't finished. Also i have kind of a LOT of acrylic or whatever she used on my actual fingers which has NEVER happened before at other places ive been to, see picture below for evidence EDIT: went back to the place and they fixed my nails for free by 2 different technicians. The original technician tried to fix it but I refused it. The 2 technicians were lovely, super nice! The original pink glitter dip took 45 MINUTES to get it all removed, which i dont blame the technicians unless the original put too much but thats speculation on my part. I just had my gel mani and pedi service with my mom and cousin on Friday and absolutely enjoyed myself. My technician Lee was wonderful and she gets a 5 Stars however I showed up on Sunday with my mother in law and three kids only to receive horrible service from a technician named Lena (she sits to the right in the first row behind the nail polish display next to the wall). She rolled her eyes when she had to do my mother in law's manicure. She rushed through the service and was done with her within 15 minutes same thing goes with my niece who was immediately behind her. She rolled her eyes each time she called them back so I asked her does she have a problem doing their nails and she said, "you don't know what you're talking about I was rolling eyes at the receptionist." Her nastiness is the reason why people do not return to a business because the lack of respect and customer service they provide. Don't treat people poorly when you don't know how much business they can refer. Don't assume someone who gets a regular manicure won't get more expensive services later better yet treat everyone equally regardless of how much money they spent. I could have taken them to any other salon but chose to come here. Within 2 days I spent over $300 bringing multiple people with me each time. Also my daughter who has a manicure didn't even get their nails cut and the technicians only polished their nails. I felt they should have only been charged for a polish change. read more

I went two days ago for a pedicure and this was my experience: They take your temperature when you arrive (don't forget a mask*) and advise you to wash your hands. The works all have masks and gloves on and the pedicure bowls are covered with a new bag before they start your pedicure. They also open new tools to use in front of you. They have a decent selection of colors to choose from of you can bring your own. It took about 30-40 minutes for my milk & honey pedicure and the polish job was just alright but they carefulness during this time was greatly appreciated. read more

I've been coming to bliss for a while, and what I've learned is you HAVE to stick with a technician you like. Some are amazing, and some a really awful. Today I had the woman to the right, first row, next to the wall, and she was so incredibly rude and didn't do a nice job. It's making me debate finding a whole new salon, sadly. I've had Han, Nina, Amber and Ann, and they are all not only sweet, but do an incredible job. The front desk girls are pretty hit or miss too. Overall it's a really pretty nail salon, with (sometimes) poor customer service and sub par nail service. I definitely wouldn't say they go above and beyond. read more

I purchased "The Works Pedicure" $55 which included: - Cuticle Care - Callus Treatment - Exfoliate with Spa Organic Lavender Sugar Scrub - Hydrating Mint Mask - Foot Massage Jayna was the worst person for customer service. She was rude, sullen and hostile. Her foot massage was mechanical. Her idea of a foot massage was to rub her hand mechanically up and down the front of my shins. Hers was the least friendly face, the LEAST relaxing pedicure I've had, EVER! tipped her 15%, because everyone needS to pay rent, but I will never allow her to touch ME again. Jeina is amazing! I've been injured in the process of getting my nails done so many times that I've developed a mild fear and easily tense up. However I've had my nails done by her twice so far and walked away VERY pleased both times! Came here for the first time with my girlfriend. We arrived at 5 PM, and the wait was 30 minutes for regular manicures and pedicures. My pedicure was average and straightforward. There is nothing much. My manicure was the worse. I bled a bit when the lady cut the cuticles. It was a bit painful. My girl also got a regular manicure and her lady gave 0 effort into cleaning her nails and hands. I have nothing good to say about this place and will not recommend it to anyone. read more

He used the cuticle scissors to start cutting the skin around my toes (completely unnecessary) and was rushing and immediately drew blood. I had an appointment for 7 pm when they close at 8 pm I was not seated until 7:11- if they felt they did not have time to service me I would have come earlier. I could hear the woman that had the male tech I had before me and she refused to pay for her nails or complete the service because he could not get the shape the same for all 10 nails. Clearly this is not his passion and he should not be working on clients nails. A month ago I would have given this location of Bliss Nail Spa 4 out of 5 stars. (There are several of this chain locally.) After a recent encounter, I am compelled to leave a warning here. My nails are weakened, ruined, and painful. It will take months for them to grow back strong and healthy. I've visited Bliss a total of three times over the last six months. I've had a pedicure, which was absolutely divine. I've had a SNS/dip manicure, which was very good as well. My third and most recent encounter was to have the SNS manicure removed. Removal of the acrylic material after it bonds can be very tedious, but if done properly, does not damage nails. Most of the time after proper soaking in acetone, the SNS polish can be "popped" off the nail. At my removal appointment, I was under the service of Olivia. She filed the SNS acrylic on the nails a bit, then wrapped each nail in acetone-soaked cotton wrapped in foil, as is standard. But then, instead of using an emory board or other manual tool to remove the acrylic polish, she used an electric nail file to remove the remaining SNS acrylic. She was trying to file off all the polish as close to the nail as possible. I've never had this experience before. "Just let me know if it hurts," were her exact words. At first, I thought she was just being nice, but after the second or third finger I realized it was because it's not uncommon for her to have what she was doing hurt the customer! Needless to say, by the third (middle) finger I told her it really hurt. I thought perhaps the heat of the rotating file bit was causing the pain, but when I looked at my finger I realized that she'd filed through the polish, through my nail, practically down to the nail bed! This was also the case on the ring finger, the second finger she'd done. She smartly allowed the rest of the nails to soak in acetone longer and finish the removal in a more manual fashion. Nonetheless, she used the electric nail file on every nail. Then she left my nails a mess, some still have polish on them. She put some old clear top coat on to cover up how thin she had made my nails. Gross. The photos are from immediately after the removal. The areas that are more read is where the drill almost filed through my nail. By the next day all my nails were broken and are painfully weak. Even typing can hurt if I hit the keys wrong. I'm sorry for the rant here, but I've only stewed with each day that passes after this happened. I realize that SNS polish removal is one of the cheaper services. I was fully prepared to tip extra for the service as a result. I did NOT expect to leave with my nails in worse, if not dangerous, condition. read more

After years of frequenting subpar nail salons all around Howard County, I have found my favorite salon! Whereas my Gel Mani from Village Nail Bar (right around the corner) chipped after the first few days, I'm on Day 19 of a near-perfect Gel Mani done at Bliss. What sets Bliss apart from other Howard County salons is the ambiance and the customer service. Unlike Village, where the receptionist told me that they don't answer questions over the phone, the various receptionists at Bliss take the time to listen and answer your questions. And, they are more than willing to fix your manicure for you if anything goes wrong after you leave (one time a rhinestone fell of less than 24h after my mani and they replaced it the next day no problem!). Bliss' interior is gorgeous and relaxing, and the bathrooms (and the whole place in general) are clean. Though their prices may be a little higher than other salons, it's definitely worth it for the better experience. Instead of feeling like you are an inconvenience (like many other salons make you feel), you are treated to spa-like treatment. I always make an appointment, because I like to have Kim (she's kind, knowledgable about nail health, and goes the extra mile to provide good service). I've seen people walk in, but I would recommend making an appointment because sometimes it can get busy. You don't have to call that far in advance - sometimes I call just two hours ahead. read more

My manicurist (Tiger) was very efficient and caring. He finished my pedicure and we proceeded with the manicure. He was very good and completed my manicure thoroughly. My toe nails are very nicely done, no rough edges, clean looking, and my feet are soft. He did this without a lot of direct force. My manicure was really nice; Tiger cleaned up my cuticles beautifully, no small feat. He shaped my nails and added a top coat for a little shine. It was lovely! read more

After a Long week in work I was so excited to get time To myself for a relaxing appointment for a nail fIll. upon arrival I was told there would be a 40 minute wait which I didn't mind waiting because I didn't have an appointment. The nail tech started and constantly kept stopping to have a chat with one of her coworker friends. I spent two hours being serviced for a fill with a French. at checkout the tech informs me that my total is $80. this was the break down -$55 for the fill -$25 for the French tip - $5 for a "nail shaping" now to my understanding when you get your nails done, they have to file the nail once they apply new product. These people decide to add a charge for that. mas well as, why are French tips +$25 for them to use less of the product on the nails? at the checkout counter I asked for the lady to break down my total for me, there I was met with irritation and someone posing as a manager telling me that if I don't like the prices there and couldn't pay that I don't have to return. I don't feel like she wouldve spoken to any other race in that same manner. I would say if you are BLACK or a person of color, do not go. Nails were chipping off after 48hrs. I had for dip which usually lasts me 3 weeks. I went back to let them know and was asked to come back the next day at 5pm.
