Was overcharged 50$ on my bank card and later kicked out refusing to give my wallet and cell phone back that i had sitting on a table. So i had no way to pay or call for a cab to get home which is very unsafe to do to a woman. Next day i returned and my wallet and phone was there the whole time when they told me it wasnt. My bank card was missing so i had to cancel it. The bartender took piles of left behind bank cards out that were stashed at random places... very interesting but wasnt surprised. I had fun while it lasted with good music but they proved to be dishonest. read more

The biggest selection of vodkas and tequilas in Humboldt Tons of mixed drinks and the only booty shaken high heel wearing spot in Eureka. If you want to go get your groove on and pop a bottle of cristal then this might be your only choice for a few hundred miles... Yes it is tiny, yes it is cheesy, yes its filled with douche bags, yes I still go there on occasion, because its the only choice. I have a good time wherever I go, but if your always nitpicking, complaining, and comparing then you might not like it here. Get over yourself and realize that you are in the middle of the redwoods in a tiny little community and the fact that a place like this is even here, is amazing... Make the best with what you have around you. Did I mention they have hundreds of tequilas to choose from. read more

This is great martini bar with many types of vodka to choose from . There well vodka is Sky and shelves and shelves of tequila that are offered. Good place to chill and kick back. The place gets cramped when it's a busy night. The crowd of people on certain nights can be a little pretentious which is pretty laughable in Eureka. Good music on the weekend. The bar keepers have a stuck up vibe when it's a busy night. But they release there coldness to an unknown stranger when one is polite, warm and tips are memorable for them. read more

Drinks are well made. Ricky is an excellent bar tender. Now, the reason I decided to write the review. The wings with habanero sauce are AMAZING. I eat indian food daily, so I'm used to eating spicy, these wings made me sweat. Good stuff! read more

Amazing tequila selection. like 150 or more. the atmosphere is modern, and swanky, but unfortunately it looks like they ordered it straight out of a "cool bar" magazine. One of a kind in Eureka though. I go for the martinis once and a while. read more

Always a very cool, smooth place for good drinks (especially high end Tequilas)....before or after where ever you might be headed....Or you might just want to hang in Pearl Lounge's surroundings for awhile and enjoy some jazz....friendly people and good conversation....As well as good food next door at Hurricane Kate's or nearby Carter House. read more

Let me tell you a little story about Humboldt County. No, not just Humboldt County, but all of the northern coast of California; from northern Sonoma County to the Oregon border. In this region of our great state, there are not too many choices in the way of nightlife. There are quite a few dive bars in this vast expanse of America, varying in drink selection and scuzziness. Some of the dives are good; with large selections of drinks and beers, and some are not so good; with nothing but a few paltry choices of American macro-lager crap. Some of the dives are relatively clean, with a decent crowd of people; yet many of the dives have nothing mare than a few cirrhosis-laden burnouts drinking away their last few years on this earth. Pretty depressing. For a young man born in San Francisco, in his early twenties, this situation leaves a great void in what could be his prime years for enjoying metropolitan nightlife. There isn't much around here, this is true... But it doesn't have to be. There are many people here who aren't satisfied with just having old dives to spend the night at. Many people want somewhere cool to go on a Saturday night. They want somewhere that is relaxed, yet classy. Somewhere with a full bar, upscale vibe, and maybe even some live music or DJs... Somewhere just like the hip lounges of San Francisco, LA, and elsewhere. I know that Humboldt County has many of these people, and thankfully such a place now exists for them to call their own- This place is Pearl Lounge. I would like to personally thank the investors/owners who made Pearl Lounge possible. This part of the country was in dire need of a cool and hip lounge, modern and classy, and thankfully now has one (right in the middle of Old Town Eureka.) Pearl has been completely redone from whatever it was before, now completely clad in stainless steel and glass brick, inside and out; from the entrance all the way back to the bathrooms. Absolutely beautiful. They have a full liquor bar, as well as wine and beer. Pearl Lounge has over 160 different Tequilas. Yes, they do. The lounge has some nice sitting areas adjacent to the seats at the bar, as well as a more private table next to the main entrance. The lighting is very low, as well as perfectly placed. Prices are reasonable, my Macallan 12 was $7. The service is good, our bartender didn't get irritated with all of my stupid questions. Everyone there was decently dressed and groomed (something you don't see all the time in Humboldt,) as well as properly behaved. The vibe at Pearl definitely is sophisticated but casual, relaxed, just like I hoped it would be. The background music was a relaxing yet upbeat lounge/club style... live bands and DJs play there every so often as well. The last Saturday night that I went, there was a cover charge of $5 after 10. Bottom line: There is no upscale lounge like this for hundreds of miles, It has been done perfectly, and makes this displaced Bay Area boy feel right at home. That deserves 5 stars. read more

I had to take the time to counteract Vanessa V's childish 1 star rating. This place is great and has a different vibe every night of the week. It usually feels very comfortable, as long as it's not too packed. The bartenders are all professionals. Why would a bartender say something like that? They work for tips. Your friend is either a liar or an asshole. And you were too drunk to drive that night so your version of events is highly questionable. That bartender you slander is as professional as bartenders get, which makes your post even more dubious. read more

I have been visiting Pearl Lounge since they opened a few years ago. My favorite thing about this establishment is that they are constantly improving it. They listen to their patrons and welcome good, constructive criticism. When they first opened, they had these high chairs at the bar that were impossible to get out of gracefully (especially after a few drinks!) and now they have the great swivel chairs. They added mirrors after that which made the place feel larger, then added a stage for performers and now they even have a super cool screen behind the stage where they play some really cool pictures. If I had reviewed this lounge two years ago I would have given it three stars but the fact that they keep making it better prompts me to give it five stars. The service is great, there may be no better bartender in town than Cordelia. Ian is fantastic as well and he is great at inventing new drinks (actually, so is Cordelia) if you give him a vague description of what you would like. The people at the door are always friendly and they have great DJ dance nights on the weekends. Great place to take a date or business associates. There's no place in town like this. It is good for getting dressed up and dancing or looking casual and sipping a martini with a friend at the back couch. Oh, and the martinis are fantastic! I almost forgot to mention the liquor! Such a great variety! The bartenders are good at recommending good liquors and new ones to try. Great place, great people. The only suggestion I have is that they need a coat rack! Or, hooks under the bar for your coat and purse. And, I am not sure what is up with the low part on the side of the bar near the door. My friends and I concluded that maybe it was a low bar for wheelchairs? Or a baby changing station. read more

I always go here for a good drink, great ambiance, and the bartenders are extremely friendly, knowledgable, and I always have a great time. Ricky the bartender is fantastic. He makes an amazing cocktail, very nice, personable, and I think he is a great asset for the Pearl! I usually head in there on a week day, and it has a nice city vibe. read more

i was disappointed, which is to say, at first i was excited about the prospect of a new cool bar. i went to see a show. now, if anyone knows the bars in this area there is a rather classic bar in arcata called the alibi. the alibi is hallway shaped with the bar running along the right side of the room as you walk in, booths to your left and in a corner at the end of the bar they stick a live band on a regular basis. (you wanna know about the pearl? i'm getting to it...) the alibi is to be congratulated for making the best of what it had to work with and adding a live music venue to the area. as to the pearl, the brand new nifty bar in eureka: it looks like a stainless steel alibi. same layout. band stuck in the corner, no stage. if you'r e there to see the band you have to be one of the twelve people choosing to stand instead of sit in the area directly in front of the band and in between the bar and the bathrooms (like the alibi). perhaps it's cooler than i give it credit, but i was so disappointed i haven't been back. decor wise i thought it was cold. steel, glass and bad soulless art prints. aaron, really? this is as good as the bay area gets? tell me it ain't so. read more

My favorite bar in Eureka! I come here all the times with friends and I have to say all of these 1 star reviews are BS! Probably the overly drunk sloppy people who the bartenders and bouncers are very good about cutting off get upset and feel the need to fill their ego with bad reviews. I have never had a bad experience here, the staff is supper professional and friendly, it does get packed fri-sat nights for the dancing and the customers are the ones who are rude to the bartenders yelling at them to serve them right away when they are in the process of making several drinks at once! If you've ever been to a busy bar you know just because you came up to the bar does NOT mean you are next in line! If any one ever gets too rowdy or is rude to other customers the bouncers and bartenders are always there to help defuse situations before they escalate. DJs are not a jukebox they only have the music they have and they do a great job vibin off the crowd n making adjustments to their style throughout the night, they also do accommodate requests when they can. Also for being the only bar to dance in that doesn't charge a cover, and the Quality alcohol selection and fine mixed drinks they offer their prices are beyond fair. I was shocked when I first moved up from the city how my bar tabs dropped in price and on that note you know your glasses are clean in this bar vs the majority of the dirty dusty dive bars in Humboldt. I've seen the staff clean and polish every glass amd surface whenever they have down time. All in all a great place to enjoy your night and great for dinner dates too as you can order all of 511's menu here as well as an epic happy hour from 5-630. If you're wanting a crowd wait for thurs-sat after 9pm but if you want a quiet spot to enjoy amazing cocktails and great customer service come any weekday!
