Straughn Farms

Straughn Farms

I took my mom to Straughn Farms in Archer, FL for her very first berry-picking adventure, and it…read morewas amazing ! We decided to come as soon as they opened to beat the crowds and also to be there before the heat was too unbearable. At 8am I feel like it was the perfect time for us. One of my close friend's mom came here a weekend before and raved about this place so we decided to check it out for ourselves. There were about six different varieties of blueberries; Sentinel, Patrecia, Optimus, Keecrisp, Farthing, and Colossus, and honestly, they were some of the best berries I've ever tasted. We heard the pink berries were some of the sweetest, but I was on a mission to scoop up as many blueberries as I could, and boy, did we score! I picked a pound for just $5, and every berry was plump, fresh, and bursting with flavor. They also had a few raspberries growing in their greenhouse and a small strawberry field. Since it's off-season for strawberries, we didn't find too many ripe ones, but honestly, the experience was still perfect. The fields were well kept and easy to navigate. Plus, everyone we met was so friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a sweet and wholesome day trip, Straughn Farms is 100% worth it. We're already planning to come back, and next time, maybe snag some of those famous pink berries too!

There are many blueberry and raspberry bushes (these are found in a greenhouse). There were strawberries, but not many; they're not in season. They'll provide you with a small bucket right there, so you can add the fruit. Prices: Strawberries and blueberries $5 and raspberries $6 per pound. We arrived at 8 a.m., and I recommend that it's the best time to arrive as soon as they open, since there are few people and you can enjoy the experience more. They also have candles on sale. It's definitely a place I'd like to return to.

Definitely wear something warm, because they keep this place pretty cold by Florida standards. I…read moreprobably would have been there longer had I not been freezing. Perhaps, it's to keep everything fresh... Otherwise, this is a very nice Indian grocery store that offers beautiful fresh produce, authentic Indian food brands and a good variety of products. I could just go down every aisle and fill up a basket...easily! If I were a student, this would be one of my favorite spots to pick up pre-packaged Indian entrees and prepared meals. It's a tad bit on the pricier side, but there's a great variety and most of the staples are imported from the East. They even carry Satya Sai Baba Nag Champa incense and body products here among other wonderful home & personal care items. I love that they offer spices in smaller packages for around $1 each just in case you don't need pounds of cardamom. However, they do offer bulkier amounts of all essential spices for Indian cuisine. A few of the items you will find here are cardamom (fresh and green!), cumin, clove, cassia bark and cinnamon, coriander, nutmeg, mustard seeds, fenugreek, turmeric, garam masala, and a plethora of curries! Omg! And the RICE! They have a great selection of big bags of basmatis! My favorite part of the store is they have ready-to-eat spicy samosas and kachori. They were huge and only $1.25 each. You could reheat them in the microwave they provided in-store or save them to take home and either crisp them back up in the oven or refry. They are not made locally. The samosas did not come with any type of sauce and I was told that I would have to buy some if I wanted it, but either way - I would come back here for those again. They were really yummy! The greatest discoveries for me were the boxes of Girnar Instant Cardamom Chai Milk Tea and the Girnar Instant Masala Chai Milk Tea. Each box contains 10 sachets to make yourself a delightful beverage at home by just adding hot water. This milk tea was also offered hot, pre-made in-store, but you're going to pay $1.99 for a tiny little cup. Just buy the box of 10 ($5.99 each). There are more flavors...

There are so many exotic foods that you would only be able to find in this little Indian Bazaar. I'm not Indian, but as a latina I know how hard it can be to find food that reminds you of home! I loved coming here and exploring all the different Indian goodies. They have great prices on Indian spices and other Indian commodities. I bought honeycomb, aloe juice, chocolate barfi, paneer, and Indian cream cheese. Everything wzs delish. The cashier was an extremely sweet man!! I had trouble with my card working and he did it for me ahaha. He was so sweet. It was just my girl friend and I late at night and he made us feel so comfortable by asking if we needed anything else and helping us. Very nice establishment !!

Not only is the location a perfect portal to a different type of Florida , but the wagons are all the way in the back so it's perfect privacy. There's also a tent outside to sit and watch pigs take a bath in the fountain. The wagon room we got was the Piggies room! Perfect decor and amenities inside(towels/shampoo/conditioner/tissues/coffee mugs /even games!) Huge bathroom with incredible shower. There is ac but we spent most of the time with the screen door and bathroom window open & it felt great. Included inside:mini fridge, toaster, coffee/tea (included),microwave and a small heater. Plenty of plugs to charge & a full length mirror. We love that there was no tv because we got to watch highland cows instead !! We also got to sleep to rain and it was so peaceful especially waking up every morning to new friends like pigs and sheep! We also saw: 4 highland cows!! , 2 different types of pigs, a family of sheep (+Anya the sassiest girl), cats, dogs, goats, turkeys (that like hugs but scared meee), guinea fowls, chickens and hens, mini horses and a peacock that sounds like Kevin from UP in the nighttime !! All the staff were super friendly including miss Elaine! Truly an incredible place to visit and get to feed pigs all day.

I'm a lover of macarons, I actually make a practice of trying to find them whenever and wherever I travel to. So getting our very own Le Macaron in town was such a treat! I've been to other locations in different cities, but now we have our very own and it couldn't be cuter. I kept it simple on my first visit to our new local location and cherry-picked 6 different flavors. As the kind employee gently placed each treat into the pastry box, I took inventory of all the sweet truffles and candies that I may taste on my next visit. After grabbing my sweets, I saw the lovely display of bubbly and wine and figured - "Why the hell not?!" and grabbed a mini bottle of Prosecco to make the pair. I enjoyed my goodies on their outdoor patio as there was live music going on out in the beautiful courtyard but if not, I would have definitely stayed inside to enjoy the absolutely IG-worthy decor! This is such a cute spot to enjoy some sweets with your boo, your girls or solo dolo - treat yourself!

The manager was friendly as well.

There was a few parts of the haunted house that were good. But not worth 22$, maybe 5$ at max. Not even that I am paying 22$ for children to wear a 5$ mask and throw red paint on themselves? This is ridiculous. I am a poor in come home and I just wasted over 50$ at this place just so my family could have fun and that was f-ing ridiculous. Would not suggest ever going here. Also I will never be coming back. It's cheaper and more fun just to go to Halloween horror nights. Wish I could give 0 stars and it's f-ing killing me to give you one bc you don't even deserve it with this trash.

I bought tickets to this event as a surprise date for my boyfriend and I. I read through some…read morereviews and was a little nervous as most were pretty negative. However, this place is amazing, I highly recommend! It was $25 per ticket and that gave us unlimited entrance into the corn maze and 1 free enter to the haunted house. On top of these were putt putt, basketball, music, and a cute goat named Molly which were all included in the entrance price. Additional events and specials such as hamster ball, mechanical bull riding and food and drink were also available for an up charge. First was the haunted house. While in line, we were informed that the actors are not allowed to touch us and we are not allowed to touch them as well as the strobe lights which were apart of the house. Through the house, actors, decorations and props kept it very entertaining and different then any other haunted house I've been too. Many actors jumped out and either screamed, shrieked, said something ominous or simply told us where to go or to hurry up. This plus the interesting costume/makeup of the actors kept it frightening and surprising. The corn maze was definitely a one of a kind experience. We went through the maze twice and both times were amazing. During the second time, a worker who was off duty became friends with my boyfriend and they devised a plan for the actors to specifically attack me. This made the experience more enjoyable as well as frightening. Again, there were many actors with many different disguises and body paint to keep you on your toes as well as being a new element of shock around each corner. The maze wasn't much of a maze as you would think. There were no dead ends but there were a couple cut outs that the actors used to hide in. Overall, it was a great experience. I loved how personal the actors became with the guests. During the haunted house, one actor would mention that he'll "see me later" and then would reappear saying "found yuh" or "I told you I would be back". There was another actor during the corn maze who would block my path while remaining quiet and almost taunting me to try to walk past. This made the experience so much better then if they just jumped out and said "boo" and then disappeared. I would recommend that there be better crowd control for the sake of the actors. I did notice a lot of younger kids who would purposefully mess with the actors such as hiding in the maze with them, taking selfies with then without consent and even touching or harassing the actors. I feel like this messed with the safety of the actors and the enjoyment of the other guests. Other than that, this place is amazing and definitely worth it. The price is a little high but the actors definitely deserve it for what they put up with.
