Cat people know the anxiety is real…read more If you've ever left town and immediately wondered, "Are the cats plotting revenge or are they okay?" then you get it. We used Denver Pro Pet Sitting while we were on vacation and it was an absolute lifesaver. They checked in on our cats, made sure everything was taken care of, and sent updates that made it clear our little furballs were living their best lives while we were gone. Reliable, communicative, and clearly people who genuinely care about animals. It's such a relief knowing your pets are in good hands instead of just hoping the automatic feeder doesn't become their new enemy. 10/10 would trust them with our cats again. Pretty sure the cats didn't even miss us.

You can text, email, or respond in the portal. The sitters give you great detail on your pets bathroom and eating habits and medications. They also provide lots and lots of pictures! I was unfortunate enough to have an emergency while on vacation with no way to get home quickly or call anyone. Nelson and my sitter were absolutely amazing in handling the situation with urgency, care, and communicated with me the best they could given my limited availability. I hope I never have another emergency when I'm gone, but if I do, it's Denver Pro Pet Sitting I want taking care of my pets. Finally, they do their best to assign the same sitter every time. I really love seeing my sitter comment on my dog's health improvements since previous visits and makes me feel like they genuinely care about my pets and their well being.

They originally got my dog in on a same-day interview in a pinch when I had nowhere else to go. My puppy loves going there and she pretty much leaves plum worn out from all the fun. I know she's having a better time than in her kennel at home because we are hooked on watching the video feeds at work. There is an older gentleman that I've run into a couple times who is the closest thing I've come to having a negative experience, but I take him with a grain of salt because the rest of the staff working there is killer. The owner(I'm sorry I can't remember her name) calls my dog 'her dog' which is pretty cute. I can tell they are excited to see her and she get excited to be there. And as a new dog owner, I love talking to the staff on occasion about ideas on how to work with behaviors. They've been very diplomatic on how they approach me when I ask them for help...don't try to actually train my dog or tell me it has to be done a certain way. They just give me good ideas to help with the process. Thanks CBW!

We wanted to address the behavior early rather than let it become more established, so within about six weeks of it starting, we enrolled her in a board-and-train program. We ultimately decided to put both of our Aussies through separate programs: both females, one five years old and the other about a year and a half. The difference has been night and day. Both dogs now have reliable recall, walk calmly on leash, and for the first time, we feel genuinely confident having them off leash. They no longer react to wildlife or other dogs on hikes, the fence running and excessive barking have stopped, and they can calmly sit with us at outdoor cafes and other dog-friendly public spaces. The "place" command has been especially valuable. They can settle calmly for extended periods, which has been a true game changer both at home and when we're out with them. Most importantly, both dogs seem more confident because they understand what is expected of them. My husband and I are also much more consistent and aligned in how we communicate with them and provide the structure they need to be successful. We've enjoyed continuing to work with them every day and building on the foundation Juliet provided. The overall atmosphere in our home is noticeably calmer, more harmonious, and far less frustrating for both us and the dogs. Juliet has also continued to follow up and check in to make sure the dogs are doing well, which is something you don't always see once a training program is finished. It's a tangible sign that she genuinely cares about the dogs' long-term success, and it has reinforced for us that this was absolutely the right investment for our family.

Two of them are my problem children: a Rottweiler mix foster fail who is reactive to bikes and other dogs and occasionally nervous around people like visiting contractors or UPS men, and the other is a 100+ lb Brazilian mastiff rescue from Aruba who is not fond of other dogs. The two of them began showing increasingly worse dog aggression toward other dogs on the trail and while camping, and had attacked several dogs by the time I found Loyal Hound/Juliet. I was at my wit's end, because I had already spent thousands of dollars and tried everything including other trainers at that point with little to no progress. I felt stuck with 2 big problems for the next 6-8 years. I hike at least 3 miles every single day off leash on the trails by my house, and I love to camp with my dogs in the summer, but they became such a liability that walks became stressful and camping became impossible. I finally found Juliet with Loyal Hound, and for our very first session we met at a crowded park and were going to be doing off leash training right away. I was so nervous -- all the triggers were present: other people with dogs on leashes, dogs off leashes, people on bikes, squirrels -- so I was absolutely AMAZED when we were walking my Rottweiler off leash through a gaggle of geese, past people on bikes, and past other dogs within a few minutes with no problems. It was nothing short of a miracle. Within a few sessions, I had both of my dog aggressive dogs walking on and off leash next to me, passing other dogs (sometimes dogs that were even barking at them) on trails safely with no reactivity. I cannot explain in words how much of a difference this has made in my life -- I feel like I got my life back. If you have a dog aggressive dog, this is the place to go. It's WELL worth the investment, and you will be amazed at the difference you will see in your dog. Thank you Loyal Hound & Juliet!!

Yelp Review by Gunner G. (Professional Good Boy)…read more I recently hired Hike Dog for what I believed was a simple walk around the block. Imagine my surprise when they kidnapped me and took me on the greatest adventure of my life. The staff arrived and immediately spoke fluent Dog, which is impressive because most humans only know words like "sit" and "no." They loaded me into a magical chariot full of other dogs who were all convinced they were the best dog ever. I politely let them know that title is already taken. The hike itself was incredible. There were approximately 47 million smells, 12 squirrels, 3 suspicious bushes, and one stick that I am still thinking about. The staff allowed me ample time to conduct important scientific research by sniffing literally everything. Upon returning home, I was so exhausted that I slept for two straight hours. My human seemed concerned at first until she realized I was simply recovering from a demanding day of athletic excellence. Pros: Endless smells New dog friends Humans who appreciate my greatness Excellent dirt-to-fur ratio Came home happy and tired Cons: They made me come home The squirrels remain at large My human keeps asking where I've been all day Special recognition goes to the team for sending my human photos and videos. She stared at them for an embarrassingly long time and told everyone she knows how handsome I am. This information was already widely available. In conclusion, if you're a dog who enjoys hiking, sniffing, running, socializing, and returning home completely incapable of staying awake, Hike Dog delivers. I will absolutely be booking again, assuming my human can locate my leash while I continue this important nap. Five paws out of five. Would hike again. -- Gunner, Black Lab, Adventure Enthusiast, Squirrel Investigator, Part-Time Vacuum Cleaner

I first noticed my dog was coming home with tons of energy when it use to be he crashed as soon as he was in the door. Then the daily text messages with pics of my pup unexpectedly stopped. Where it use to be every holiday or sport season was celebrated with dog costume photo shoots or other events, none have occurred in over two months. The last straw was when I picked up my pup last week and he reeked of dirty dog kennel. If anything, the dogs previously always smelled of whatever flowery odor powder they would spray on them before. During one pickup I was told a team from Austin were training at the location. Then two weeks later all the staff I knew were gone and I was told the franchise was under new ownership. While the new family owners are nice, the whole shop seems understaffed and drastically changed. I was willing to pay the high amount they charge because the pup was happy and the services were over the top, I'm now looking for another location that is either the same high level service the shop use to be or the current service level at a more appropriate price.

If anyone is going to advocate for him, it's me. And thank God I did. When I left my first review, the Medical Director responded saying he couldn't find me in their system. I find that hard to believe since I once paid over $5,000 at this same facility for another pet's hospitalization. There are good, kind people who work here -- I've met them. But readers should know this facility isn't an independent practice. Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is backed by large investment firms, including private-equity and hedge-fund-style investors. That kind of backing often prioritizes profit over pets, which shows in the way care decisions are presented. Please, don't let anyone pressure you into a rushed decision, especially euthanasia. My dog, Buddy, had been groomed by Valerie at Luke & Company for more than four years. Valerie knew Buddy well, and for years I trusted her to care for him. Sadly, Buddy was recently diagnosed with cancer and passed away just a week ago. It took me some time to finally work up the nerve to call Luke & Co. because I wanted Valerie to know that Buddy had passed. When I called, I was shocked to be told that they could not find any record of Buddy or me as clients after more than four years of nail trimming appointments. I asked for Valerie and was told she wasn't available, so I left a message for her to call me back. The next day, I didn't receive a response so I called again. During that conversation, I was told by the manager, Annie, that I was "not a good fit" for Luke & Co. anymore. (WHAT) Considering why I was calling, that response was incredibly hurtful. My dog had died. There was no future grooming relationship to end. I wasn't calling to make an appointment or ask for anything from the business. I was trying to tell the person who had groomed and cared for Buddy for four years that he was gone. I also struggle to understand how there was supposedly no record of us being clients, yet I could simultaneously be told that I was no longer a good fit for them. I understand that businesses have the right to decide who they want as clients. But after four years of bringing Buddy here, I expected some basic respect and understanding, and I received a door slammed in my face. I simply hoped that after four years, someone might acknowledge some basic compassion and I know Valerie cared about Buddy. (I wouldn't be surprised if they still didn't tell her). Whatever positive experiences I had over those four years with Valerie are unfortunately overshadowed by how I was treated at the very end. Being made to feel dismissed by a business that had cared for him for years made an already painful situation worse.

When I first chatted with Jane she told me she owned cats and I was afraid that Huck would be too feisty towards them. However within minutes of being in Jane's home, it was obvious that she is truly the mama bear/pack leader and all animals become harmonious little angels in her presence. I now get pictures of my dog sleeping next to cats and I see him walking side-by-side with them, totally unphased. Jane has watched my dog for extended vacations (2-3 weeks at a time) and has him over for daycare once a week. Daycare is seriously his favorite day of the week. He runs to Jane's door and bangs into it, demanding to be let in. He can barely keep his eyes open when I pick him up because he's had such an eventful day! Things unique to Jane's boarding/daycare: * Crate free atmosphere. Dogs sleep with her or wherever they like. * Backyard time * Dog park visits * She cares about your dogs behavior/growth and will work with your dog to help them get over fears, aggression, bad behavior, etc. * Unlike daycare or boarding in "corporate" places, your dog is active all day long. At corporate places, my dog would be in a holding room and cycled out for playtime so he wasn't getting exercise all day. My personal experience: * Huck is less aggressive for a few days after daycare. * My dog is usually one of the smallest dogs at her house and it's been great to get him exposed to other large breeds or breeds that he previously took issue with. * Peace of mind that my dog is getting some quality off leash time. Jane takes the dogs to the dog park in small groups and sometimes he gets to go multiple times a day. * Relief that my dog can be a dog and I don't have to worry about his behavior. If I take my dog to the dog park, I'm constantly worried he'll attack a dog. When he's with Jane, he behaves well since he's in a pack and isn't being protective over me.

We already had 2 big dogs, but thought if we could help give a dog shelter while we were home all of the time, it would help us get through lockdowns and homeschooling as well. We found many opportunities to volunteer with BDHP -- from fostering our own and babysitting fosters for other foster parents. What we did not expect/intend was to fall in love with one of our fosters--a Great Dane 1 year old pup who had been a breeder surrender. She was the sweetest, most appreciative dog we'd ever met and was just so happy to be part of our family. After an adoption that didn't work out (the other dogs in the house didn't accept her), we got Phoebe back to foster again. Except this time, we knew she wasn't just going to be a foster -- she was most definitely going to be a foster failure. :) We happily adopted Phoebe into our family and are so appreciative of all of the countless volunteers/donors who help get these pups adopted into just the right family (even if it takes a couple of times). Even though we are not looking to add to our family of fur-babies, we will continue working with BDHP and fostering and helping out other fosters when they need to go out of town or have emergencies. I highly suggest fostering AND adopting through Big Dogs Huge Paws. Fostering is so fun because you get to meet and help many of the dogs and you're responsible for helping them become adoptable. And when you find a foster that you just can't part with, fosters get first option to adopt. The folks working with BDHP are extremely helpful and responsive and they just all REALLY LOVE DOGS!
