We have been bringing our dogs to the Pet Spa for 10 years. We started taking our lab mix for Furminator treatments and then our Chihuahua puppy when we adopted her for bathing and nail trims. We lost our lab mix in 2022 and adopted a Schnauzer/Chihuahua mix in 2023. The staff is fantastic with rescues and always have a calming presence over our very rescue. They are able to trim her nails with no drama. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly love dogs. Top notch pet bakery! It's hard not to get one of everything and sometimes I do! Yesterday they had bark- charcuterie boxes that were adorable and made for an easy decision. The fun treats outside of the bakery are unique and appreciated by my dog recipient. They offer grooming services, we have had a tricky time in the past when we've tried to schedule on a couple locations. It's all good for products though. read more

I was assured they did. ha ha So when I took 3 of my yorkies in, I showed Hailey 4 pictures of ROUND FACES I would like for them to be groomed. She said no problem. 2 of the yorkies had very long hair which I expected for then to trim. Needless to say, when I picked them up I almost had HEART FAILURE!!!!! This is a great place to use their self service pet wash or nail trims for dogs. Often times I have found a few nails that aren't sanded well with the Dremel tool but I check them before I leave and they always fix them without complaints and apologetic too. Wish I didn't have to do that but otherwise it's a great place. Very accommodating for aggressive dogs towards other dogs. They make sure the coast is clear for us to come in and get back out. My dog does great with them and is awful with us attempting to trim his nails! read more

I've always had an awesome experience at Ken Caryl Pet Spa, and highly recommend them for your pet! I've had my dog get her nails clipped here, and she has had a full service bath. The service is great, the staff is always friendly and really helpful, and they are super knowledgeable and are able to answer any and all of my questions. They are also caring humans running a business, and not just out for profit. My dog is a mix of a Great Pyrenees and an Australian Shepherd. She is small like an Aussie and doesn't have the texture and amount of fur like a normal Great Pyrenees, so I was worried I would be charged extra due to her breed when I booked a full service bath. They were awesome giving me a quote for my dog as if she was an Aussie rather than the more expensive rate, and I love this about them. They were reasonable with the price they quoted me, when a lot of larger businesses would not be that flexible. I also love that I can pick up any type of treat I could ever want for my pup as a reward for her after her bath! Recently had our two dogs groomed there. One of the worst dog haircuts they have ever had. Gave them specific instruction on how we wanted them trimmed, but they ignored direction. Dogs tail was shaved with exception of small tuff at end. Looks ridiculous. Haircut was uneven. Won't go back. Especially for what they charge. They made sure to get paid and tipped before they brought the dogs out for review. read more

I'm very pleased with the services I received for my 2 pooches who don't like having nails clipped. Also my one girl is a sketched out foster fail who is scared of tiles floors. The ladies were kind and patient. We sat down on the main floor and Amber was very kind and just gently took of both dogs. My dog Rusty seems to like this spot. I have a Pomeranian-Shelti mix and his fur tends to get pretty long. He also like running around with the big dogs so he is frequently dirty. I've never taken him to a groomer so I took him to this spa as it is a. Couple blocks away from work. I made my appointment online which is very convenient. You pick a time to drop your dog off and then usually you'll get called back in a few hours later to pick them up. When we got to the spa, it took a while for anyone to greet us. We were greeted by the employees at the front desk and then introduced to Rusty's groomer. She asked what we wanted and then took Rusty to the back. I dropped him off at 1pm and was called back in around 4:30pm. I was happy with the results. Rusty was clean, soft, and wagging his tail. He got a nice, sleek haircut and was now wearing a scarf. I ended up paying a lot less than I thought I would although I didn't really have an idea of how much it would be because this wasn't discussed up front and I didn't think to ask. Afterwards we were followed up by an email asking us to review them on Google. When I didn't do it I received another review email 48 hours later. And then another one a week later. And then another one after that another week later. I understand businesses want reviews but this seems a little excessive. So if you give hem your email, be prepared to get a lot of emails asking you to "Rate your Experience". I took away two stars for the excessive emails and for the amount of time it took for them to greet us at the spa. Overall though, I am content with their work and I will be back soon. read more

The staff is very friendly and accommodating! The groomer did such a good job on my toy poodle.

They "recently" remodeled giving each bath their own full room, which is nice even though I never had any issues with them more open. Even though the self-wash was by appointment only (due to COVID), I never had any issue getting anything same day. I also really liked the "bubble bath" (theraclean) for my pup with a lot of allergies. I was always in and out within about 15 mins, so I don't have any photos or I'd share. :D read more

CoCo can be difficult (she can have a small dog attitude) & I appreciate the way Vonnie can handle her & has given me hints on how to handle her as well, consistency is the trick! I just picked my dog up from being groomed today. She looks awful !! The groomer she used to have has left and the past two times I have had different groomers. The last time was "ok" . I had asked that they not trim her eyelashes but that did not happen. Today the only good thing was her eyelashes were left untrimmed . Her ears are WAY TO SHORT, Looks like she was given a flat top on her head, her mustache had several LONG pieces that weren't even touched besides being uneven on the snout. My dog got jacked up. Honestly I'm embarrassed to be seen with him now. Possibly a blind person could have cut him better. He runs around looking like an oversized rat. If that's what I wanted I would have gone to petco, got a rat and fed it steroids. On top of all this his nut sack looks like a burn victim surviver. I've had my dogs groomed at several establishments over the years, big box pet stores, mobile groomers and even vets offices; none of them compare! My oldest pup has become difficult to groom at home and was looking rather shabby and drab and was a bit smelly when I took him in. What I received back was a fluffy shiny happy clean pup! His coat is SO shiny now and I cannot find a tangle anywhere on him! Price, including extras was very reasonable and it was obvious from my dogs demeanor that he had been treated well! They overbook worse than an airline. Took 6 hours to groom my 8 pound puppies. I scheduled a month out, and they were 3 hours later than they said, didn't call or text to tell me that they'd be late, and I sat outside waiting for their call for half a day. They also overcharge and say it's because it's an expensive area LOL. Ken Caryl is nice but it's not that nice. $137 and six hours to groom two puppies. My puppies were dehydrated and starving and sad when I picked them up, and had diarrhea the rest of the day. This "spa" isn't nice for the dogs. They're not equipped to take in the volume they do. No play areas nor outdoor areas, but they overbook and take walk-ins. Doesn't matter if you schedule ahead. Avoid this place. You'll regret it. When I got home I found that their nails weren't trimmed, one of them had cuts on his stomach, and one had chunks of hair missing. No idea what the heck I paid for but I'll never pay for it again. read more

I scheduled my appointment for my miniature schnauzer, and they said 10am. Great. 1:30pm rolls around and two trips back and forth with my dog stuck in a cage with no water for three and a half hours and she gets home stressed. The cut was fine, she looks good, and I'm sure the people there don't mean to intentionally overbook, but that's exactly the reason I stopped taking my dog to PetSmart for grooming. There's enough cageless pet places around, save your money and go to Groomingdales (Just up Simms street from there) For reference: The only reason I took her there was because they had an opening on short notice before my wedding and she had to get cleaned up for it, otherwise I would have taken her to Groomingdales. read more

I went to this groomer to talk to someone about what they could do with my Pomeranian without shaving her or taking off her undercoat. After talking with them, I decided I would go ahead and make an appointment. I filled out all the paperwork and was given a business card with the date and time of my appointment. I was told that they would call me and send me an email a couple of days in advance to remind me. I never received those reminders so I called them to find out what was up. They told me they had no appointment on the books for my dog and that they had given my appointment away to someone else. They said nothing to explain why this had happened and did not even own that they had made the mistake. I decided to take my dog to another groomer. If they cannot even keep a new customer appointment on the books, how are they going to groom a dog. After reading the reviews for this groomer, I think I made the right decision. Wow! read more

I love the staff here so much. My dog Pixie is a little nervous and gets overwhelmed easily. Bonnie and the other staff make her feel so confident and good while she's groomed that she never has any issues. I walked in today a little after 3pm and was told everyone went home. So much for walking in. I may walk in somewhere else in the future. They do a good job but apparently don't always have staff. I suggest calling first to ensure you can get the service you want. UPDATE: Calked ahead to make sure someone would be available for a nail trip today, 8/24. There would be until 4pm. I took my dog in and she was taken right away. I must say, this was a horrible nail trim. Not all her nails were trimmed and they are long. I looked at the nails and you cannot see qwick so the nail could be shorter but it was rushed. Snd I even left a tip! Sorry, I won't be back. read more

I took my chessie there to give him a nice, thorough cleaning. I paid and basically it's just go in the back and handle cleaning my dog. He enjoyed it but it was a bit of a challenge to get a 120lbs dog who loves the water to climb up into the bath area. Did the job as expected. read more

This place has been great the last few years. The DIY dog wash section has been a life saver in that I have two 90 lb German Shepherds. Other places want in excess of 40 dollars to let ME was the dogs and I have to provide everything. The Pet Spa has a punch card for $74 for 4 washes (2 dogs per wash) and they give the soap, towels, brushes and I really appreciate that they clean up the nasty old mess I leave behind. I used to frequent Laund-ur-Mutt for the self-serve dog wash but have recently stopped going. The past few times I went, the water wasn't very warm. The employee said that they'd been really busy but I don't see the point of paying for cold water. The point of paying for the wash is to be indoors with warm water without any mess to clean up. Otherwise, I can just wash my dog outside with warm water in a bucket. I gave three stars because the employees are friendly and my dogs love the treat selection. They also offer grooming but I have not tried it. read more

So bummed to write this review! I have been a customer at Ken Caryl Pet Spa for about 6 years, on and off as I now live in Denver. My mom lives in Littleton and in the past, any time I stay at her home or in the area I always try to squeeze my Japanese Chin in here for a groom. The last time we made an appointment will be the last. I called, made an appointment, they already have all of my information. I let them know my boyfriend would be doing drop off and pick up, as I had to run other errands. He dropped Mu off, with her collar on (which has both of our numbers on it), and they asked TWICE for his phone number. Any other time, I would be grateful for double checking. Several hours later, we called to ask if Mu was ready and they told me they called us twice and left a voicemail. She had stayed 2 hours over the time she was finished because they wrote down the wrong number. I didn't get upset thinking it is possible they misplaced her collar... but also frustrated I never received a call and I'm the primary contact on her sheet at the office. Get there, collar on, my correct phone number is in the system, yet she was held for 2 hours in a tiny crate while they called the wrong number that an employee wrote down twice. Once we get home, I notice her nails were not cut. When you're a dog owner, especially for a tiny dog that basically sleeps on your head every night, you notice if their nails are freshly cut or not. I was asked to come in to take a look, at this point I'm already home and frustrated with them. Cherry on top: Mu gets kennel cough. I understand this can happen anywhere and anytime, but had she went home when she was finished, this could have potentially been avoided. So now I've spent $70 on a groom, no nail trim, no apology or credit, and a $120 vet bill. Words of wisdom to the Pet Spa, call all numbers associated with the pet. ESPECIALLY THE NUMBERS ON THE PET'S COLLAR! Again, wish I didn't have to write this review but it seems like in the past few years this place has gone down hill. I didn't even realize how low they are on Yelp stars now, had their review been that low years ago I would have never even considered bringing my dog here. Won't be returning again. read more

No more Ken Caryl Pet Spa!! I love a clean dog! So, for the past few years, every few weeks, Ramee has been getting a bath, a brushing, her nails trimmed, and teeth brushed at The Ken Caryl Pet Spa. But....no more! Because my sweet dog is 13 years old, I always request that her grooming be done in 2 to 3 hours. I don't want her kenneled and sitting around wet, while other dogs get bathed..... then they all are dried at once. My old dog is too arthritic for that. When I made the last appt., I said my whole week was open and to give Ramee any day or time that this would work. A helpful employee said a good time would be Tuesday at 12. When we got there, the groomer complained that she was too busy to get my dog done in that time frame. But she did ask if I wanted a bandana for Ramee. I left my dog there anyway as this was the agreement and said to call me if she just couldn't do it. But 2 1/2 hour later my dog was ready. I was so pleased until..... The assistant manager informed me that the charge would be $73. This is $21. more than usual! She said because I wanted a "rush" bath for my dog. Not only was this a surprise, but I was spoken to in a rude tone as if I had asked for an unforgivable service. I will never go there again and intend to find a pet spa that actually cares to provide good service for my aging pet. And...Ramee never did get that bandana! read more

Sarah at Ken Caryl Pet Spa did the best cleaning and blow out my siberian husky ever received in her life! I truly cannot imagine taking my dog anywhere else. Kind of like when we as humans find our hairstylist, we stick with them. Sarah is our gal. It was like my pup was a new dog and this sounds crazy, but it took years off her appearance. I will never take my dog to get his nails trimmed here again!!!! After he came out I noticed one of his nails was half way clipped off and still hanging, I asked the groomer if she would clip it off. She said yes and went and got the nail clippers. As she was gone I noticed a huge gash all the way up my dogs leg to his groin. When I told her that he was bleeding she than decided to tell me that he fell off the table and caught the metal edge. The manager who is extremely rude came over and looked at his cut had nothing to say. No apology at all! In shock standing there, the kid at the cashier register wanted to charge me when they sliced his leg and were only able to cut 3 of his nails. They attempted to put toothpaste on the cut which I asked my vet about it when we took him in afterwards and was told this would not help. They were confused by how this could happen because he laid there nicely for them to look at the injury and treat it. No one was professional at the Ken caryl pet spa in the way they handled the situation; they made him feel extremely uncomfortable and scared. He had been to many groomers throughout the past couple years and we have never had any issues so we were very surprised by this experience. We also know many other people who have gone here and had poor experiences -- one of which had their dog come home covered in scabs. Wish we had known this before. This was not the first time I have ever brought my dog to them but it will be the last. Horrible customer service and an extremely unprofessional environment. read more

Thank god for dog groomers! I have a husky and for those of you who also are lucky enough to have this same breed you know when spring has arrived because chucks of hair start falling out in handfuls from your dog. Yuck!! What a mess. When I originally discovered this place I thought this was where you do all the work and wash your own dog (not something I really care to do). And was happy to find out that they do all the work for you!! They do a great job too, the FURminator is the best thing since sliced bread. I can't tell you how much that treatment alone has saved me on time and vacuum cleaners. I don't have to replace them as soon nor do I have to vacuum everyday. I spend around $60 for the treatments and we only go about 2-3 a year so for us it is worth it. read more

Ken Caryl Pet Spa is amazing. The owner, Dawn, is very knowledgeable and helpful. The self-wash option is wonderful as you can bathe your dog at waist level and not have to hurt your back. The food selection and deals are excellent and the quarterly VIP sales are great. My kitty also enjoyed a wonderful "lion cut" grooming there to get all of her mats out of her very long hair.
