PAY ATTENTION TO THE REVIEWS. I've worked with many tow companies over the last 40 years and have NEVER dealt with such rude service and then been overcharged. The PD acknowledged they had heard there were problems with the company. Even the tow truck driver who met me to pick up the vehicle and tow it to my mechanic said the folks at Peabody are known as "a--h---s." Don't expect to receive accurate pricing over the phone, prompt service, or any empathy whatsoever for what may be a rough day; you will likely be treated more like a hindrance to their day and then pay through the nose for the treatment. On 5/7/22 In the midst of this company arguting with my insurance company over charges, I was called over the phone and told that if I did not pay $1,200 plus dollars that they were going to take my car to Fairfield and I would still have to pay that amount plus then storage and other fees. The car was supposed to go only 20 miles away to the tire shop. That was the plan that was submitted by my insurance company. According to this towing company, they were told that the car only had to go one mile away. As it was, I was stranded on the highway for hours waiting for them and there were no towns within even 7 miles. I am very unhappy with their service. I did try calling and asking for management the next business day to atleast try to undertand their view point but was completely blown off! Please do not use this company if you cannot afford hundreds of dollars in extra costs. I felt like I recieved a call from an extortionist that night. "Pay this amount immediately or you lose your car!!" I literally said, you are joking, right, you cant just take my car miles and miles away! I talked to a woman who asked for my card information when in regards to getting my truck towed and she said they wouldn't take any money from my card. She said the tow truck guy would be there in 1 hour so I waited and they never showed up until till 4 hours later after I had already called another tow and left the area . They also lied to me by taking 275 without even towing my truck and then saying I can only get 50% of it back when I called them . I warn anyone who needs help do not go to them they still haven't given me my money and the bitch ass guy who answers the phone will hang up on your face like a sucka if you ask for help . He was aware of my car situation and quoted me $275.00. When I arrived at my destination, the tow truck driver charged me $350.00. They shouldn't change prices last minute - especially when I was already given the price. I ended up getting a flat and trying to communicate my issues and questions to see if they could be of any further service. The representative was VERY rude, blunt and short. Did not seem like he wanted to assist at all or give out any information besides the one he needed to. I understand if he didn't have any but he didn't have to cut me off when I was trying to figure out if they had any partner connections with tow companies to get me to their tire shop as my car broke down just 5 min away from them. And when I got on the phone with MY car-Max roadside assistance and got better quality help I was courteous enough & called back to cancel my service (I could've been petty and made the drive take a meaningless trip but calling to cancel was the right thing to do) only to be met with a nonchalant reply as if they were not in a hurry to fulfill my request. USE ANOTHER TOWING SERVICE!!! I called for a tow 15 miles north of Vacaville to Stockton they told me $275.00 an hour for a tow to Stockton so I said ok almost an hour later truck shows. Just under 2 hours pull up to my house. These people will rob you for your money. They will charge you with out your knowledge. And lie to you about it. I was having trouble with my auto insurance company. So I called 7078987312 Peabody towing. I was told that it would cost me $75 dollars for them to show up. And $140 for them to tow my vehicle to the shop. They showed up, 40mins later. I had straightened things out with my insurance and so I canceled the tow service. I asked for receipt and he told me it will be in the email. And that the rest of my money would be back in my account in 4 or 5 days. Its been 2 weeks And they still haven't given me my receipt or money. I went to address on website its a residential, fake address. I've called numerous times and only got through once and was told they are going to keep my money because I canceled.
