This is a nice location that will surely meet your PDQ expectations - efficient service, seating options, entertaining Chive TV, and their food options are always tasty and come off as being fresh. The drink station is always a sticky mess, but that happens. It just seems to be a consistent challenge so it's an area of feedback. They offer Coke Freestyle so lots of options (usually in stock) along with some tea options which is nice. There don't seem to be any sauce options (in efforts to have people purchase custom sauces instead) which is a bit of a bummer especially if just want some ketchup for your fries. I'm a PDQ fan for sure! We went inside to pick up our mobile order (super easy to use and the rewards are great). Ambiance from what we could tell was good, the restaurant was a little messy, but we took to-go. I love their grilled tenders (hubbys fave is the spicy tenders; those are great too!) and the options for sides and sauces. We go out of our way to drive to PDQ. Unlike other popular chicken establishments I feel the ingredients and options are better here. Occasionally yeah we may get some colder fries or maybe the didn't give me the ridiculous amount of extraordinary blue cheese that I asked for. But that's ok. We still choose pdq. Oh.... Today's visit to PDQ is solely for the chicken tender milkshake available today only! I went through the drive thru and whispered "I heard you have a chicken tender milkshake today only", she laughed and I was able to get one easily. Honestly PDQ is underrated and I feel as if they deserve more credit. Their sauces are phenomenal and their tenders are really good with just the right amount of spices. The milkshake was vanilla with whipped cream and a cherry, there was half a tender placed on top as a garnish. The shake was cold and sweet, mixed with the tender (yes real chunks of tender) it had a salty flavor which was the perfect balance of salty/sweet! You wouldn't think it would be good, but it is! I'm sorry, if I'm spending $13 or more for a meal, I should be able to get more than 2 sauces for the 5 tenders and fries. And more than 1 sauce for 3 tenders and fries. Honestly, I haven't had a bad meal at any PDQ and this one is no exception. You can order your chicken either grilled or fried crispy. Even their fried chicken tastes healthy. PDQ also has salads, different kinds of milkshakes, and Coca-Cola Freestyle for the sodas. I really love their fries and they're different chicken sandwiches. They're a little more expensive than McDonald's or Burger King but you get what you pay for and you pay a little bit more for the quality of the food. Sometimes I'll just get the kids meal like the two piece chicken tenders. You can get a side of fries, broccoli, or apple slices for the sides. The Kid's Meal comes with a small fountain drink, a juice box, or milk. The kids meals are only $4.99 and you get enough food for an adult to feel satisfied. Looking for a quick stop for dinner on a FDN (Friday Night), and I had a coupon for BOGO (Buy One Get One) combo meals. PDQ (People Dedicated to Quality) is known for being a bit pricey, so this was a major score for the 5 minutes I spent going through my junk mail! We ordered two - 4 piece TNT (Tenders 'N Tots) meals before I could finish filling my fountain drink, they were bringing out the food. Good when you're in a hurry, but not so good knowing the food was probably sitting back there waiting to be served. The tenders were pretty good. They could have been a bit crispier in my opinion. Some of the breading slipped off when you picked them up. The tots were also good, not super crispy like the gourmet tots (oxymoron) that some places are serving up, but hot and edible. If you like LJS (Long John Silver's), they have HMV (Heinz Malt Vinegar) which goes great with the tots (and probably fries too). Just when you think you know someone, my wife mixed the HMV with Ketchup and used that to dip her tots in. WFT? (Was Freakin' Tasty). Their sauce cups are tiny so if you like a particular sauce, ask for 2. The buffalo blue was ok, but was much better if you squirted extra FRH (Frank's Red Hot) into it. The Garlic Ranch basically tasted like mayo, but was much better if you squirted extra FRH (Frank's Red Hot) into it. The Honey Mustard was good as well, and was not if you squirted extra FRH (Frank's Red Hot) into it. They have a nice selection of Iced Teas (SUJ: Sweet, Unsweet, and Jasmine), but it's so awkward to get it. Short people may need to ask for assistance. It's worth a try despite the silly name. The fries were hard, not regular hard but cut glass hard like they were old and reheated. Yes, that bad! I find it hard to believe that anyone in their right mind would enjoy eating them. The food is grossly over priced. The only saving grace and the only thing I would ever go back for is the strawberry milkshake. It was actually high quality for a chain shake. Not impressed with them, I had high expectations that easily crumbled at the drive thru. They don't have a menu board and order box, it's a menu at the window. How awkward! I have to read the menu while the unenthusiastic employee stares at me. I hate this set up. It makes asking questions in comfortable! I decided on a honey butter chicken sandwich, green bean fries and the street corn. I wanted to try a variety of their menu and share with my family. The corn is not worth it. It's not like Eloté. It's Americanized mushy corn with chilis and melted Mayo. It lacked flavor and didn't fee authentic. Not looking for miracle, but my fast food corn should at least be tolerable. This is my 3rd location. They are certainly consistent with their quality and service. Super fast friendly service at great prices. My "go to" is the honey butter chicken sandwich and it was delicious as always. The zucchini fries are yummy. Great location. This location will do very well. The nuggets are great and love the homemade dressings. My favorites are the honey mustard, ranch and creamy garlic. Been going to PDQs for years and was excited about getting a location near UCF. The milkshakes are great and happy hour I believe is from 3:00 to 5:00PM and shakes are half off but just double check in case they have changed it. Great Takeout Chicken We don't eat a lot of fast food. No McD's or KFC. Might hit a Wendy's once a year in an emergency or a Taco Bell on a road trip, but that's about it. PDQ is certainly fast food, but it's a solid notch above most of the drive-though chains. I've ordered from this PDQ via UberEats and once in person at the drive through (for far better prices; recommend). The chicken is clean, fresh and delicious. I have never found a "gnarly" bit in the probably half dozen times we've ordered. We usually get 5 spicy and 5 regular tenders, although if it came down to it, the spicy version is The One. The waffle fries are also top-notch, and even survive Uber delivery relatively intact, something you can't say about all restaurants' fries. The milkshakes are also great -- the real deal (these understandably do not fare quite so well by delivery). Fast Food doesn't get better than this. PDQ offers many "sauces," which are interesting and fine, but not a necessity in my opinion. I found the bleu cheese, honey bbq and siracha aioli the best, but at the drive-through we just skipped them. When we went in person, the drive-through staff were *extremely* friendly, to the point of me wondering if something unusual was going on, like maybe a push for better reviews? I'll take friendly service however I can get it, but I hope the employees aren't under some kind of undue pressure to make everyone love them. This was my first time trying a PDQ. We walked over from Congo River at 8:50 . We ordered from a very nice counter lady and sat down . They brought us our food and served each basket . No tray drop off , it was nice. The lemonade is fantastic. Real and yummy. They had a fun thanksgiving sandwich of crispy turkey with cranberry that I ordered. It was great. I had sweet potato fries with a marshmallow dipping sauce .... yummm. The kids meal came with a choice off side . He chose corn. The corn was crispy and a little spicy. He hated it . I loved it but wasn't sure about spice for a kid corn. The 20 year old said it was one of the best chicken sandwiches she has had. High praise from her, she eats a lot of chicken sandwiches. Let me start off by saying I am someone who has worked both front line, back of house as well as management in the food service industry for the better part of ten years. I've been out of restaurants for several years now, but I appreciate when an operation is managed effectively and how that trickles down through the staff. Earlier this year I was on the hunt for a new favorite lunch spot, but I kept being let down by the competition time and time again. With the competitors, I noticed over time how they seemed to care less and less about what they're doing. This causes them to run slowly preparing orders, not start online orders until the customer arrives, mess up orders constantly, or not even salt the fries. PDQ on the other hand has never let me down on the cook or seasoning of their fries, they're literally perfect every single time. The staff are extremely friendly, professional, and they always have my online orders done within 3-5 minutes. The chicken sandwiches however are where PDQ truly shines. The quality of the chicken is clear when you take your first bite, and then the flavor hits you. Whatever seasoning they use prior to frying is unrivaled by the competition. Instead of having to douse their sandwiches in sauces, they let you truly enjoy the flavor of a quality chicken sandwich. While other fast food often makes me feel sick shortly afterwards, in stark contrast PDQ settles in my stomach wonderfully. It's also worth noting that their sweet tea isn't sickly sweet as you get with McDonald's, and is extremely enjoyable. My personal favorite meal there is the Honey Butter Chicken Sandwich, with a side of their made in house BBQ sauce. Also, their five dipping sauce menu may not seem like a lot, but their sauces arent just normal ranch, bbq, etc. They've added something to it and turned normal sauces into bold, flavorful dipping sauces. Pretty sure u can ask for as many as youd like, we asked for a total of 6. Note: We went during the COVID-19 shutdown, so we didnt go inside, just drive thru. There are plenty of chicken places around me. The debate between friends always to seems center around Chick-fil-A or Popeyes, but I think from now on we will have to throw PDQ into the mix because this place is awesome. First off, their chicken is great. Let me make that clear. It's clearly high quality stuff. It was warm, tender, and juicy. Everything you would want out of a chicken place. The breading was perfectly seasoned, and the chicken-to-breading ratio was on point. I ended up trying a couple different sandwiches as well: The Cali Club sandwich is really tasty. I think they may have fallen victim to the avocado craze though, because the sandwich really didn't need it. It was already really tasty. The Honey Butter sandwich was another crowd pleaser. My girlfriend loved it. Probably a bit too sweet for me, but still a solid sandwich. The Buffy Bleu has to be one of my favorites, mostly because I'm a big Buffalo Wings guy. Not much heat, but sometimes that's a good thing. If I had one complaint about it, it would be that the chicken didn't really conform to the shape of the bun. I don't want chicken patties or anything, but the sandwich sort of resembled a mouth sticking out it's tongue. Had a bunch of bites without any chicken in it. Also, some blue cheese crumbles would have been a really nice addition. The crispy chicken sandwich was probably the safest choice, but my favorite nonetheless. It was just a solid sandwich. I'm still yet to try the ones from Chick-Fil-A and Popeyes, but PDQ has set a high bar for me. The chicken tenders were as you'd expect... Amazing. Slightly greasy, but so flavorful. Their honey mustard isn't homemade or anything, but it's still pretty good. The fries are also top notch and very addictive. The zucchini fries are a nice alternative too. The place is clean, well-lit, and inviting. It doesn't look big from the outside, but there's plenty of room once you get in, and the booths are padded and really comfortable. They have a big-screen TV up near the ceiling. They have touch-screen drink dispensers. The employees are all lively and friendly. Service was "pretty damn quick" as well, living up to the name. They came and brought the food straight to our table which was nice. They even constantly checked up on us to see if we needed anything. They hire some great people here. The chicken sandwich was delicious but the fries were cold and old tasting. I did like there garlic dip, sweet sriracha, and honey mustard sauce. The guy who took my ordered messed it up, they gave me my money back for what they messed up...so I didn't want to bug them about the bad fries.
