Their website advertises a free basic diagnostic followed by a quote for further work, but I was charged $189.95 for "diagnosis/disassembly." On July 7, they emailed me that the drive would require Level 5 service costing between $1,999.95 and $3,499.95. At intake, they had set me up to receive text messages, so I expected important status updates by text. The email went into my junk folder, and I did not see it for weeks. More importantly, I was never given a meaningful diagnostic report explaining what they opened, what tests they performed, what they actually found, or why Level 5 service was supposedly required. When I retrieved the drive yesterday, it had visible pry marks and scratches. My original white data cable was also missing. They could not return it and instead gave me a black replacement cable. For $189.95, you would expect -- at least clear -- advance disclosure, documented diagnostic findings, responsible communication, and the return of all of my original property. Instead, I received a very expensive recovery estimate, no new findings, little explanation of the work performed, visible marks on the device, and a substitute cable. Based on this experience, I would not use H Power Computing again.

From there, he helped me order the right parts and took me step by step to doing a PC rebuild to make sure everything works and none of my data was lost. The parts came in and Korey came and picked all the parts up and began the rebuild, taking me step by step through the process. Communication was Excellent and he sent photos of the assembly. Korey did an awesome job with this rebuild, entire setup was clean, cables were very organised, and he gave me specs and even offered advice on how to make the rebuild more efficient. During the crazy 2 weeks of rain, my son's computer stopped working. Richard was still working helping businesses with their network failures through the storm. Always good to call ahead and he can work out time to meet if necessary. Reasonable pricing for both labor and parts. Easy to understand explanation. My son's laptop is an ASUS Vivobook 14, model number X1404V. He claims it isn't charging despite it being plugged into the laptop charger. He's tried at different outlets. We tried getting a replacement charging cord and that didn't work, so it's for sure something with the computer itself. We spoke to Yoda at Gadget Guyz about the issue and he let us know it will require bench work and gave a referral to Easy Computer. Dropped off on Tuesday for diagnosis. Results of diagnosis on Thursday. Richard confirmed that there was at least one bad component in the motherboard, so it would require a full motherboard replacement. A motherboard replacement would require dismantling the entire computer and replacing it and putting it completely back together. For a motherboard replacement they are not done in-house, they are sent out to New York. Parts alone would be nearly the cost of the computer brand new. Labor and to send out would double it. Picked up Friday. Richard gave a good recommendation on next steps. Consider if it was still covered under warranty, where I purchased it, what would be covered. He was very sweet to work with.
