I did not think I would ever need to fix my new pc I had JUST bought, but it started crashing randomly a week after I got it. After tinkering around for a while on my own, I came to the conclusion that my hard drive was the issue and came to the first place I found. The service was incredible. DO NOT GO!! Brought a computer there for a simple diagnostic. It was returned in terrible condition with the rubber foot popped out. I paid for the diagnostic, asked them to fix the foot- it was going to be more time then I had so I had to leave it with them again. Upon picking it up I could see that they treated the computer with RUBBER CEMENT and gotten it ALL OVER the back of the computer. I was then told by a Tony Soprano wanna be that it was going to be an additional 30.00dollars . Only after I fished the old receipt out of my car did they give me back my DAMAGED FOR LIFE computer. Worst experience with computer repair. Brought my laptop in for a simple battery and trackpad replacement and had to take my computer back and forth to this place so many times due to mistakes and lies. They lied to my face multiple times. I bought a new battery and trackpad. I got the computer home and the trackpad didn't work. He tells me they put a used trackpad in. I had to take it all the way back to have the trackpad fixed. I then asked two times if the battery was new because by then I didn't trust this place. He said yes. I take it home and find out the battery is not only used -IT'S DEAD. So I had to take it back again. The battery finally registers as new but I'm going to get diagnostics done at Apple to due to the fraud I've experienced here. I don't trust that this "new" battery isn't counterfeit. Now I am having problems with the system overheating at the battery compartment and will have to take it to Apple because there is no way I'm taking it back to this place. TLDR: Paid for a new battery and trackpad and was lied to because they put a used trackpad and dead battery in instead. Lied to repeatedly and told the new items I purchased were new when they were in fact used. Had to return over and over again. I would not trust this place at all. read more

I went to PCW to get my laptop battery fixed, which they did at a fair price. However, when I got my laptop back some of the keys no longer worked properly, which seemed like an innocent enough mistake. I took it back and they "fixed" the broken keys by replacing them with old, worn-down keys. And some of them still don't work properly. I would not go back here again. I am going to have to take my laptop someone else in order to get my keyboard fixed! read more

It's inevitable - I never walk out of a computer repair store without worrying that I got screwed. Up until recently, I would just go to Best Buy and pay extra because it was too daunting to enter a computer repair shop. This was my second trip to PCW. The first time was weird, one of the guys took me aside and said he'd fix my dc jack for $100 that day if I paid cash. I agreed and he fixed it but it seemed a little shady so I was reluctant to go back. I went back to PCW today because my laptop wasn't getting any power from the AC adapter. I had taken it to another place in Warwick that couldn't diagnose the problem so they ran a diagnostic on the hard drive. I am certainly not a technical wizard but that didn't seem right. PCW took a quick look at it, verified that there was no power from the A/C adapter, tried a different one and it worked fine. I walked out of there with a new A/C adapter, $50 - this time they took a credit card. The bottom line is that based on both my visits, I think this is the best place in the area to bring your PC for service. These guys are fair and know what they're doing. Service is really fantastic, the guys that work the front are all awesome . But the price on parts is marked up LITERALLY almost 100%. I had to pay $29 for a $16 case for a laptop drive. Not happy about that at all. I brought a 1994 desktop computer tower to PCW and told them that the computer had indicated that the system battery was dead and needed to be replaced. Later the same day, a technician called and said that the computer did not have a battery and there was no way they could fix it. I picked it up and did some research. The computer actually has a Dallas Real Time Clock rather than a battery, and that part can be replaced. I opened up the computer, found the RTC, and ordered a replacement part online (readily available from a number of sources, including through Amazon). Upon looking inside the computer, it appears that PCW did not even open it up. I will never do business with PCW again. The only good thing was that they did not charge anything for their supposed service. read more

I took both my laptop and computer this store. The prices charged were reasonable, less than Best Buy. The laptop had one broken key on the keyboard, and the hinges were broken. He fixed both, and he installed a new keyboard for free. I did not ask him to fix the keyboard. On the desktop computer, the hard drive was bad. He replaced it and gave me a one year warranty. It only took a few days to get both fixed. He called me with a quote before doing any work. read more

Do not go here. They fixed my network with a sloppy used part I think because when I took it home the Wi-Fi was still slow. I called them back to tell them this and they blamed it on the connection, but I specifically told them that every other device I own worked. After I took it back for them to inspect, much to their dismay, they told me the same thing. I am now going to a different computer shop and will never go back there again read more

I've been bringing my computers here for several years. On perhaps 6 occasions between my employer's computers and mine personally I always felt satisfied. Naturally without research I just dropped my laptop there. Because my Google search for their phone number was still on my desktop I glanced down and saw Yelp. Some of the reviews were pretty scary. But, I waited for them to call me with the diagnosis. I was offended by the caller from this company and by the price they gave me. Still I felt I owed it to the owner to give him a chance to make things right. He did. Kevin, the owner is quite a nice man. I'm glad I waited and spoke to him. We dropped off our pc for diagnosis because of an error that was showing up when booting. We were told that we needed a new motherboard and processor but that the hard drive was fine. We bought the parts there totalling over $300 and decided to install them on our own so we wouldn't have to wait longer to get the pc back. Well, after everything was put in, the error still showed up. Wtf. We decided to check if the hard drive was the problem by putting in the one from our laptop. Problem fixed. I honestly don't know whether the tech even checked the pc at all or just took a guess that costs the most money. We will never be back. read more

Problem when turning on the computer and nothing shows up. Asian male said it's motherboard problem for $250 in August-motherboard is at least $150 market price so that was fair & labor $100. Ok fine. But it is now October & I'm back to the same problem!? They said I can bring it back if there're any issues w.it after 60 or 90 days? I'm hoping it's 90days!? In around 3 minutes I had to tell them that everything they were going to do was wrong. I am having mixed feelings on this place. My friend and I dropped our laptops off in late May, just trying to get them fixed since they both had minor problems. My laptop had a chipped corner, and I needed their help installing the graphics card updates. I was called a few days later, and they told me something was going on with my hard drive. Okay, I hadn't noticed anything, but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. I got it back just before the first of June, and it was running fairly well. Today, however, my computer came up with a blue screen. I brought it to Best Buy, as I wouldn't be able to get to PCW Computers before their closing time. Best Buy told me that I had been given a faulty hard drive. I know that companies do shit like that, give people faulty or not top-quality products so they have to keep going back. I'm not going to assume that's what happened, but I'm not exactly pleased to have a three month old hard drive shit the bed six days before I have to leave for college again. My friend, on the other hand, needed her keyboard replaced, and she's had no problems since. I suppose if it isn't directly related to any internal ware on the computer, they're decent at what they do. read more

I am giving this place a single star for one reason only. Their commercials state they fix iPods. Here is my experience... I dropped off my daughters iPod back on May 8th or 9th of 2011. I was told that it would be anywhere from 150 dollars and up. At first they were great, I received a phone call a few days later telling me they ordered a piece, but it would take a week or two, seeing as it was coming from China. three weeks later, I called, was told I would get a call back... three days no call back. I called two more times, and both times were told that I would receive a call back, no one has yet to call me back. Fed up, I went to the store to pick up the still BROKEN iPod. I then went to the Apple store, and found out that because PCW Computer is NOT an authorized repair shop for Apple, that the swap out warranty was voided. I could have taken the iPod directly to the Apple store, and received a brand spanking new one for LESS than PCW was going to charge me with the Apple Swap out deal. So I had no choice but to go to Target and purchase a new Apple iPod. If anything happens from now on, I will be going directly to Apple. PCW had always been good with my computers in the past, but I will NEVER bring in another item with the way that I was treated, especially if I have a problem with an Apple product. You're much better off going directly to an Apple store. read more

I went to PCW Computer a few months ago and they fixed my Mac screen, they were the cheapest around and i need it fixed quickly so I figured I would give them a shot, soon realized that it was the biggest mistake I've made. After getting my computer back, the glue that they glued the screen on with was all clumpy on the outskirts of the screen. They didn't take the time to trim the excess glue off which is a very easy thing to do but i looked the other way and was happy that they had fixed the screen. Roughly 2 months later, the top of my screen started to loosen and come off, so I took it to them and asked if they could fix it for me, they said yes and I came back the same day. When i came back, George told me that the screen had another crack in it and that it was already there, which it was not, he must of did it trying to fix the screen, so i told him i wanted a new screen and he agreed to do it for what it costs him to get the screen, $20. I then picked the laptop up once again and took it home. 3 days after i got the laptop back, the whole screen came unglued and was hanging off. I will never be going back to this place. They have horrible customer service, they are lazy and sloppy with their work and they are hacks. read more

"I have been a customer of PCW Computer in Warwick in the past. They definitely need to improve on customer relations. They are rude, abrasive and dismissive to customers. They are disinterested in the concerns and needs of each customer. I was dismissed as someone they were not interested in helping at all regardless of the fact that i was interested in purchasing another computer and upgrading the desktop i needed help with. My questions were not answered and i was told they would get to my computer when they were ready even though this was during a time of day when they were not busy [just me and another person were the only customers in the building and the other person was heading out the door when I arrived]. They are not computer literate. Overall they are not very good at fixing older computers that require the retrieving of lost data. I wish I had known this before I sent my desktop there the other day! My last experience with PCW was so negative that I have found another local computer business for repairs and upgrading which is much more customer oriented and knowledgeable. I will definitely do my homework by reading Online reviews of local companies to avoid making another mistake."
