There are two kinds of IT people, the ones who leave you more confused than when you started, and…read morethe ones who quietly solve the problem and get you back to running your business. Working with Matt was exactly that. He was prompt, professional, and refreshingly easy to work with. No unnecessary jargon, no drama, just honest expertise and a genuine commitment to getting the job done right. As a small business owner, having someone reliable to call when technology gets in the way is invaluable. If you're looking for an IT professional who knows his craft, communicates well, and delivers on his promises, I highly recommend him. Good people are hard to find. Great IT people are even harder.

Matt is kind, caring, funny, nice to kids and dogs, and a total find.

I called after several weeks and he promised he'd have the problem diagnosed within the next couple days and call me back. Several additional weeks went by and I called again with the same response, and then once more a few weeks later- a total of 2 months of wait time without any progress or evidence that anything was done at all. I eventually gave up and got my laptop back myself to look at. Googling my error messages indicated that my RAM was faulty, and after replacing the RAM (a 15-minute procedure), my laptop works fine. It took me ~30 minutes of total active time to troubleshoot and solve this problem that I had previously waited 2 months for the owner to fix. I'd guess that Alex was overcommitted with fixing other machines to focus on mine, which is fine if he told me a realistic estimate (i.e. "I'm really busy right now, but check back in a month and I'll give you an update). Instead I got drip-fed inaccurate timeline estimates. Overall, I find it difficult to reccomend going to this business to get your problem fixed unless you have a really easy software issue to diagnose/fix on the spot.

I paniced of course and to make a long story short ended up dropping the computer as well. Not my day. Close to tears I called my brother and he recommended Winmac and I gave them a call. These guys obviously know how to treat their customers. The laptop was completely dead and he offered me a loaner laptop to use in the meantime and somehow even pulled my files out of the dead laptop! I was already impressed but my jaw hit the floor when they told me the loaner and pickup WERE FREE!! On his way out, all the "paperwork" was done on his iPad in an effort to go green! I love it! They called me later that day with the cost of everything with parts which I had already expected were bad. It was very reasonable and they told me they would install the parts as soon as it came in. This all happened on Saturday and I had my laptop back by Tuesday running as good as new with all my files! They even took my credit card and swiped it through their iphone!!! How cool is that? These guys are amazing. I have never been treated so well and they obviously know what they are doing. If I could give more stars I would. They are THE BEST IN CHICAGO!!! THANK YOU WINMAC!!!!
