I love this store, and thank goddess that it's not in my actual neighborhood, because I would be spending ALL my food budget here. Their bakery case is amazing - the chocolate croissants are to DIE for, and my boyfriend digs the cinnamon rolls. I love their selection of breads - this is the only place I can find Essential Bakery Raisin Pecan Bread. The dairy selection is pretty phenomenal, as well -- you can find just about any kind of milk or milk-like substance (substitute) in their dairy cases. I think this is more like a food Museum -- we can spend hours looking at all the food, wine and the cheese. Every time we are here, we find something new to try! read more

A large (but not overwhelming), lovely, well-stocked PCC with plenty of parking! Really, what more is there to ask for in a natural foods store? I prefer to support a local business over Whole Foods any day (no offense to WF, but it's the truth) and I've actually found in some cases that this PCC has broader selections than Whole Foods for certain items. I am continually impressed with the quality of classes offered by PCC Edmonds, the attentiveness of the people who work there and the quality of the store in general. You can get a huge pizza freshly baked for under $15, they have a lovely buffet for a quick dinner for one and a full, healthy deli with many options. Their seafood selection is top notch and the ONLY place I will buy salmon, and beef. Their prices aren't 'cheap' but I don't find it overly expensive. Their cheese selection is wonderful. But to not talk about their classes would be remiss. The classes offered by PCC are fantastic. They are reasonably priced and I feel like I learn so much! I attended the Pressure Cooking class and absolutely loved it!! I have already signed up for 4 more classes. Wait. They are already hard to get into sometimes. SO yeah. Nevermind. I love PCC Markets. It's the closest retailer in Seattle to farmer's markets in terms of what and where they purchase. If you're concerned about the healthiest options for organic food, etc. this is the place to go. The people are never unfriendly, and it doesn't take a minimum of 30 minutes to get in and out of there like Whole Foods. These stores are amazing. read more

Great grocery store for produce and deli. Produce is always fresh with some great varieties in local and organic. Deli has a variety of salads and dishes that are wonderful to have in the fridge over the weekend to mix and match a meal. Little sushi case with a sushi chef making items daily, and a pizza by the slice bar give even more variety. Meat section looks lovely, but I cannot bring myself to pay those prices... Layout is OK - a little ackward around the angled produce section - not really perpendicular aisles look cute in theory but detract from navigation and finding things. read more

This was my first time at a PCC Market. I have to say I really enjoyed it. It is a very clean and well laid out store. The foods you can get at the deli to go all looked amazing. Expected more coming from AZ but PCC is over priced and the selection is actually rather poor. Things that a lot of other smaller health food stores commonly carry they do not have. Maybe it's just this location. Idk. But a store this large could do a lot better. They should take note of other health food stores around the country like natural grocers, good earth etc. Tea selection gets negative 1 star. This review is for the PCC kids cooking class. Took my 9 year old son to the PCC Apple Harvest cooking class today. Lisa and Sue did a wonderful job with about 10 kids, the oldest being my son. They were able to learn knife skills and were allowed to chop, mix, core and cook apples in many different preparations. Sue was able to keep the kids on track which amazed me with a couple of these kids. I told her afterwords that it looked like an Iron Chef show with kids! Strongly suggest taking kids to this class and we look forward to the next one. read more

This review is long overdue. PCC edmonds is my favorite grocery store of all time! The produce section is always impeccably fresh and organic. They always have everything on my grocery list---including my random little specialty items. And the pre-made food section is delicious with options for anyone with dietary restrictions! And I'm probably the most diet restricted person out there--- For example I can't have refined sugar and they use only honey in their salad dressings! In fact, it's so tasty Id rather go here over most restaurants. The ambience is also wonderful and all the staff are nice! I don't know how anyone could have complaints. Exceptionally organized supermarket. This place has a very wide selection of herbs and spices, including things like star anise and nutmeg. The vegetables section was also very pristine. Only complaint is that the cookies aren't as good as they seem. The nice cashier also got us a discount on peppercorns, which was very nice of her. read more

This is tough. I come here most weekdays as I am a commuter, and usually get breakfast and dinner as I go to and fro the ferry terminal. The one thing that strikes me as odd is never being greeted by an employee. I mostly use self-check since I feel I might make someone work too hard. I will say I have gotten to know one of the checkers in the morning, and he and I have a cordial exchanged most of the time. I walk by at least 6-8 employees every time I'm in the store, 99% of the time, no eye contact and only once in the last 90 days was I greeted with a good morning. Not once have I ever been asked if I need help finding anything, I've always had to ask. Most other grocery stores staff will ask you if they can help you find something if you appear to be hunting for something. Unfortunately, I still go there since they do have options you can't find elsewhere, but lately I find myself opting to stop elsewhere to and from the ferry because I like to feel like I'm an appreciated customer. read more

Their prices are ridiculous which defeats the original charter of co-ops which was to provide low cost wholesome food to encourage the masses to live a healthier life and not just the economic elite.. How ridiculous? How about $1.85 per lb of rolled oats, 3 times what I pay at Winco Foods 2 miles up the road. That makes their flax seed a venerable bargain at only twice the cost of Winco foods. . Americans are so fat, especially the poor, because they have gotten away from a whole food diet. Stores like PCC and the Whole Foods Market discourage healthy eating with their lack of cost containment under the guise of organic. read more

PCC offers some excellent hard to find products for example, the butcher shop has excellent grass-fed beef and lamb. Unfortunately, the butchers are less than cooperative. My simple requests for ordinary filet minions that haven't been bound up with string have been met with hostility and denial that such a thing was possible. An order for a boned leg of lamb without string binding was similarly ignored. The lamb arrived bound in string, with the membrane still on it. Recently the cooks in the take-out food department have decided that no one should be allowed salt. Their food has become bland and flavorless. And no, adding salt after a dish is cooked is not the same. The enormous amount of shelf space given to highly processed salt-fee, gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free products and other processed fad foods reduces the space available for high quality natural food products. PCC has become an employees' paradise . The only shoppers it caters to are food faddists. It would be wonderful if it returned to its roots of selling high quality whole foods. read more

I can't think what life would be like if this store wasn't just a couple of blocks from my house. It used to be an Albertson's and that store was just depressing. What I love about this store is all the fresh ready made meals that you can buy to go or stay. It's not just a grocery store. They also have some free cooking classes which are great to get involved in. read more

Called the store and can't believe the response I got when asking if someone could check on a product in stock - I was told to call back in the morning as everyone in the health and body dept. had left for the day. I need an asthma supplement and can't wait until tomorrow - I then asked if any employee could check and the employee Emma's response was - it will take a long time - then proceeded to put me on hold before even asking what product I was looking for. I'm in shock - I've never received this type of customer service from the PCC in Bothell - if it wasn't for the Bothell store I would no longer be a long time customer of PCC - definitely won't be patronizing the Edmonds store!! read more

I have been into PCC three times, and all three times I find myself shaking my head at their prices. $2.79 for an avacado? $10.99 for a dozen sugar cookies? The prices are outrageous. I don't understand why people would pay so much more for PCC stuff, when QFC is right across the street with $1.39 for an avacado and $4.99 for cookies... I understand people like organic food in the NW, but really... could it be worth twice the money? read more

expensive. Trader Joes is cheaper and Central Market carries the same stuff and also charges less, they even have the same stuff in the deli case but with one set price. A lot of PCC's baked goods come from the same place as Central Market's do but PCC charges more.I had a very sweet and funny friend who worked there too but had to quit because management, a girl named Beth, told three really big lies about them. They finally felt like they just had no choice but to leave because they were never going to stop being harrassed. i dont shop there any more. read more

PCC is a co-op. Co-ops are supposedly for the benefit of the members. Then why are the prices so ridiculous? Why can I buy Tillamook cheese cheaper at regular grocery stores? Why can I buy better tasting cheaper organic meat at Thriftway? I've noticed the hamburger at PCC usually expires the next day or the day after that. The produce is beautiful at PCC but you have to read the labels. A lot of it is grown in Mexico. The deli and bakery offers some really tasty items but almost everything is way overpriced. Sometimes it is worth a visit with the monthly 10% off coupon or on the 15th of the month for a 5% discount. I used to buy most of my groceries here but now not so much. read more

Great wine section. I haven't picked out a bad bottle yet! The wine steward is knowledgable and the few times I have attending tastings I have been impressed. This is no ordinary store - I find with the member savings I am not spending as much as I was shopping at Costco or Trader Joes! The produce selection makes eating vegetables a pleasure, and I can't even begin to sing all the praises of their in house butcher, sufice it to say he is an artist. In the past year I have had new inspiration from the seasonal offerings and my cooking has experienced a renaissance which my family seems to appreciate. read more

I had a few OK experiences here and then I stopped coming when I found a woody substance (seriously it looked and tasted like wood) that seemed to be shredded into the cream of broccoli soup. Then I had another experience when I was pretty desperately hungry and came to the deli and everything had looked like it was pretty old (I passed). I dream of the day we have a PCC in the far north end. Given the option of Whole Foods, Central Market, and PCC, this is my favorite although the prices reflect the top-notch quality of their products, service, and ambiance. Similar items typically cost less at the aforementioned competitors. I'm in love with their deli, and due to the it's convenient proximity to my workplace, I could come here daily for lunch! On the plus side: Nice wine department, tasty deli and bakery selections, fairly good bulk spice selection, fresh though outrageously expensive produce, very earnest and mostly pleasant service staff. But - Good Grief! - talk about overdose of vastly over-priced "processed" foods for what touts itself as a natural foods market. When I joined PCC lo! these several decades ago, PCC was the place you could go for quality, bulk, inexpensive basics for people who chose or had to live frugally as well as healthily. As a poor college student, I could eat well and still eat less expensively than if I'd shopped at the major chain groceries. You could buy 10 or 20# bags of non-fat powdered milk to make your own yogurt, 25# bags of whole wheat flour, 25# bags of beans or rice, a 5# hunk of cheese cut off of an even bigger block, all at bargain prices. PCC now seems to cater to deep-pocket food faddists for whom food is a fashion statement more than it is basic sustenance, or deep-pocket foodphobics for whom terror lurks behind every food choice. I read the letters to the editor of their monthly newspaper and am guaranteed of getting a few (very healthy) belly-laughs every time. Anyway, since my IRA-SEP owns stock in a packaging company, I'm not complaining, but I'll do my grocery shopping at Cash & Carry, Costco, QFC or Star Market, and stop in at PCC for the occasional bottle of wine or deli take-out. read more

Just reviewed the Green Lake branch and this one couldn't be more different. It's a PCC without the attitude.They welcome one and all even if you don't have your Birkenstocks on that day.Normal grocery vibe with a PCC slant. Produce dept. is a little lacking, but that certainly not a deal killer for all other items. Coffee bar and baristas perfect and friendly. Lots of parking. read more

I love PCC in Edmonds, WA! Not only do they have a wonderful assortment of everything healthy, but they also have a great deli with scrumptious choices and an awesome coffee kiosk featuring a variety of flavored coffees and a wonderful dessert showcase. It's always a delicious experience to drive down to the PCC and save a few bucks bin shopping. Steel cut oats are cheap in bins! From Cell Food to coffee logs and cooking classes, you can even find what's up in Seattle on the walls in the hallway to the restrooms. read more

I really don't know what I'd do without PCC. The produce is great, prices are very reasonable and I absolutely rely on them to keep my household supplied with nutritious and environmentally responsible groceries and household supplies. I've had my own membership for 35 years, though my mom used to bring us in the 1960s. I remember it being very small and having a lot of bins full of carob and things that didn't thrill a little kid - wow, has that changed over the years. :D The bulk bins alone probably save me $100s/year and allow me to try new things with little investment (nuts, spices, rarely used flours and grains, etc..) Occasionally I have to shop at a local chain grocery store - I know they try and stock organic produce, but I end up disappointed 75% of the time. It's pricey, not fresh like PCC, it's been on the shelf too long, I end up composting WAY too much of it. I can't even recall the last time I had to toss anything from PCC. It confuses me to no end when people comment about it being expensive. I know my prices and spend very little more at PCC than if I were to shop at a chain. Though they're delicious and worth it, the deli and hot bar items can really add up. Perhaps the complainers don't really cook and purchase a lot of convenience items? Dunno... I tend to mainly buy veggies/fruit and whole foods that I prepare myself. My boyfriend does buy a lot of deli items to get him through the week. So much better than going out to lunch. The classes I've taken were really good, highly recommend. read more
