I run a large, very complex digital, pro tools based music studio. We're talking multiple SSDs, HDs, outboard equipment, interfaces, controllers . About 20TBs or more of critical data, both internal and external. This time my c :drive completely died. No system restore or other options possible. He somehow was able to basically clone a large dead SSD to the point that I was able to be back up and running in just a day or two. The man can do anything with a computer. Anything. I brought my laptop in because it would no longer boot up correctly after running Norton Utilities and the automatic repair tools wouldn't work. I was told that the prognosis was pretty grimm and we could recover the data, but would have to restore the OS an reinstall all of the software, etc. They were very friendly and just trying to be honest, which I appreciate. They said they would try a few things, but weren't optimistic. Well, I'm glad I didn't listen. I did a 5 minute search on Google that led to an article that took me through (step-by-step) fixing the problem in 3 minutes. My computer was immediately back to being FULLY functional with no loss of data or programs. I guess this would be a 5 start review had someone said: those are hard errors to fix, but we can look online and research to see if there are fixes out there for this type of problem. I would have left them my computer. But would they have searched or just come to the conclusion that a wipe of the computer was the only fix? Note: I consider myself to be very computer literate and only went looking for "expert" help when I couldn't figure out a resolution. After perhaps the most soul crushing experience of my entire life, attempting to purchase an HPE…read moreProliant DL325 Gen10+ with U.3, and being blindsided by the absolutely insane roadblocks I'd encounter in that pursuit I wound up in a bad position. I had already scored a super hot deal on an AMD EPYC on eBay, but couldn't buy a G10+ bare metal with U.3. I could get the bare metal without it, but I'd also be nicked and dimed for all manner of misc parts that would also not be included. In my darkest hour I came across these guys, and they hooked me up with a pretty wicked DL325 Gen10. It's not the plus, but it gets the job done and, as I later found out, with the 2SFF NVMe kit, U.3 drives will still negotiate to NVMe speeds. So I picked up a pretty sweet low usage HPE branded Intel NVMe SSD from them too! Something to tide me over until the U.3 Kioxia CM6 lands for general availability. Thanks CCS, you saved this server purchase from being a complete disaster.
