If you want to dance, this is not the place. I went here because I experienced the PBR in Virginia Beach. I had high hopes. The service is great and the bartenders were friendly. The drinks were made well, and the place seemed overall pretty clean. However, the dance floor had only a couple people on it, the music wasn't really the country music you dance to, and when my friend and I tried to start dancing, a bouncer told us to stop dancing because we were too close to the "girls." I don't recall if these girls are at the other PBR location, but they did the same dance routine all night, and the way the people just watched them dance for hours reminded me of a gentlemen's club. I really love country dancing/ line dancing, but this PBR did not live up to my hopes. read more

Don't get me wrong. This place is FUN. This review is for AHA and his crew that checked my party and I in. I came here for a birthday celebration that the birthday host threw. Having the event pre arranged, the birthday girl instructed us to go through the VIP line BEFORE 11pm--ok no problem. Easy enough. A woman working VIP took us to our bottle service table. **Note no wristbands or indication was given that we were granted access to the venue before 11pm because after 11pm there is a $10 cover charge. Fast forward to the night, not knowing my friend and I have to tell the bouncer we are leaving to pick up a friend, we leave the exit not telling the bouncer a thing, not having a wristband or any indication we arrived before 11pm. We try to enter again--we are not granted access because we "were not given a wristband or told the bouncer we were leaving". This message is for UPPER MANAGEMENT to communicate with their staff on tracking their guests. I'm not suprised if the male bouncer gave me a fake first name "Aha" is his name. Well Mr. Aha, please tell your workers to count VIP guests accordingly. It will save you and your staff the headache. 1/10 for customer service. read more

Bull riding here is the best. Let me warm you though to remove any jewelry because a friend of mind did injure herself by here bracelet cutting into her skin as she fell off. The staff here is very friendly. I myself being a plus size girl and short have trouble getting on the bull but the staff has never showed any prejudice. I love it. If I could give this place a 0 star I would. Quite frankly it lacks diversity and it's very clear diversity isn't welcomed. When my group of friends attempted to get in line for the infamous bull ride, the lady (blonde) who works here let the white customers physically cut the line. Why do I believe race is a factor in the way your treated here ..? Because all people of color were at the end of the line. The line lacks organization and all over order. The music also again favors a particular audience but that is for another review. The entire staff need a lesson on diversity. The staff that includes only white people. What I enjoy most about PBR is watching people get on (and fall off of) the mechanical bull. It's very entertaining to watch. Other than that, it's an ok bar. They play mainly country and rock and as a R&B and Hip Hop girl, I won't the first on the dance floor, if at all. It's more fun to come with a large group than with one or two friends. read more

Very fun place with great energy BUT they have a pattern of charging more on your credit card than you signed for. I keep my receipts and compare them to my credit card statement every month. The charges on my statement have been higher each time I was there (3 times during November & December 2021), sometimes significantly. My handwriting is very legible, so I see no excuse for this pattern of intentional fraud. Beware and keep & verify your receipts if you go. read more

Power Plant has made some serious upgrades since the beginning of the year. Mosaic has expanded with a larger outdoor area and stage, Baltimore Comedy Factory has been added and there is still more to come by the end of the year. My favorite new addition is PBR. It opened a few months ago and I've been quite a few times and have yet to be disappointed. It is on the upper level next to Angels Rock Bar. If you are a fan of country music, then you will definitely love this place. You will love it even if you aren't a huge country fan. The dj mixes up country with Top 40 and hip hop music so there is something for everyone. The girls that work there wear sexy chaps that show off their red booty shorts while they dance on top of the bars to certain line dances and get the crowd pumped. There are three bars as well as a beer tub stand so you have plenty of choices to grab drinks. The best thing about PBR is the mechanical bull that all the drunken guys and girls attempt to ride. Some are pretty good, but most only last a few seconds. There are tvs all over the place with a live view of the bull so everyone can watch even if they aren't near the action. If you aren't brave (drunk) enough to get on for a ride, it is great for just people watching. I could probably watch that all day long. They tend to go easier on the girls and make it a rougher ride for the guys. Cover charge is $10 on Fridays and Saturdays, but if you friend them on Facebook or sign up for their emails through their website, then you can usually score a sweet happy hour deal with free cover for you and your friends. Also, once you get in, you can go to PBR or Angels Rock Bar, so it's like 2 clubs for the price of one. read more

I was curious to see why everyone was so excited about PBR. I think the draw is the mechanical bull and the country music. This is a theme bar with bartenders/servers dressed as cowboys, rodeo clowns and cowgirls in chaps. They have 3 large bars and the bartenders are attentive. We came here on the bequest of our friend, the bride-to-be. She enjoys country music and wanted to ride the bull. It was our first stop in our bar crawl for her bachelorette party. Unfortunately, it was our last stop. Who gets hurt on a mechanical bull? Lesson learned: Riding the bull is not a good thing a week before your wedding. Thanks to PBR for providing ice for our friend's ankle and for getting her down the elevator. read more

Pbr is definitely the best place to go on a Friday or Saturday night!! The girls and I used to go out to fed or fells point until we found pbr. If you go, you have to ride the mechanical bull If you bring 10 people in your group of friends you can typically get a VIP table, which is an awesome experience at PBR. read more

PBR is probably one of the better establishments at the Power Plant. They have several areas with different music playing in each one. We somehow always end up in the room with the mechanical bull...lured in by the top 40s mixed with some pop country. No interactive and earth-shaking DJ/live band here, but the music is still "danceable". They have dancers on the bull and tables that move around where the crowd needs hyping...but standard dancing, nothing special. My only legitimate negative comment is the lack of top shelf vodka selections. They serve Ciroc, but I'm a Grey Goose or Belvedere kind of girl, so I was a little disappointed. Four Ciroc and red bull cocktails came out to $34 ($50 with tip for our generous bartender)...I could live with that. We always have a good time, so we'll be back! read more

This place is a joke. A dancer/employee decided that she was going to dance on the table. I was told to move my drink by the dancer. I was also told by the security that I needed to move away from the table I was standing at so that they could dance. "If I got kicked that it was my own fault" via the security/worker. Be glad I didn't get kicked because you guys would have an assault charge filed on one of your dancers/workers. What happened to allowing customers to actually use the tables. Believe me. One thing on my "Must Do Before I'm 30 List" was to ride a mechanical bull...Guess what? I was scared and back out of it...Untiiiiill I saw how much fun people were having! I did it and stayed on longer than 5 seconds! WooooHoooo!!! It was sooo much fun! The atmosphere is great as well. People watching you will cheer you on! If you are in the Baltimore area and always wanted to ride a mechanical bull...Go to PBR! It's $10 to get in most nights. PBR.... Does not stand for the beer, like most people thing. It stands for Professional Bull Riding. They do have a mechanical bull, but the line is usually real long. Get their early if you want to hop on it. This is the best place in Power Plant Live. Power plant in general is for tourists, but that does not mean it is not a lot of fun. If you are with a group of friends this is the place to go. Drink prices are reasonable and there is always a crowd on the weekends. For guys there are ladies dancing on tables in chapps with their butts out. Traditional/classy females may get offended as happened to my buddy's girlfriend. Leave those types of girls at home. Tip: If there is a concert outside you can get a great view from PBRs outside area. Get there early. (I think cover is $10 after a certain time, again get their early) read more

I just held our holiday party at PBR and it was a blast. the team had a lot of fun riding the bull. Jake, who was the operator, did a nice job making us all feel like we knew what we were doing. Well I must say I stumbled onto this country club in the middle of downtown Baltimore.. The atmosphere was awesome and the staff was on point with the entertainment aspect of a Country club.. beautiful woman dancing all night and if you want some Bull riding in your future, you must go check out the mechanical bull a and it's operator. I must say I've been going to country clubs all over the country, but this guy is the best mechanical bull operator I've ever seen lol. A must go if you're in Baltimore!!! read more

I went here after a Best of City Paper event, and it was dead as a door nail. It was a random Thursday, so perhaps that was it. I can imagine if you're a 20 something you'd love this bar on a busy Saturday or Sunday. Maybe take one too many Jack Daniels shots and climb up on that mechanical bull! Ah, youth. PBR was great for my birthday! The private tables with big comfy chairs were so reasonably priced for a large venue in downtown Baltimore. They even got me on stage and did a little skit that everyone loved. It's also nice to have Country music mixed in with a few current dance songs for a group with different music tastes. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. DISGUSTED. DO NOT GO THERE. I was part of a VIP Bachelorette Party that was set up at PBR for Saturday night by the entertainment coordinator at Powerplant Live! When the group of 13 girls, including myself, originally showed up, the employees did not know what our party was, did not offer wristbands for discounted drinks to all the girls, and did not give the bride her "drink for free" wristband. On top of that, the security was harassing us about taking off our zebra striped, pink and black bandanas as soon as we got there. We asked to speak to a manager who never came out to meet us, instead he sent one of the servers who was sweet but could not give us answers. When the girl in our group who was paying for the party gave her credit card and ID to one of the servers, they LOST it and brought back someone else's ID and card? Is that safe? Is that where you want your money going? Again, we asked to speak to the manager, they denied us. Then, as we were dancing as a group around 10:30-11 pm, one of the bouncers (a juiced up, disrespectful, aggressive man, who clearly needs therapy) grabbed the BRIDE and said she was being too drunk and had to leave because he saw her "fall" which no one else witnessed, interestingly enough. She asked to just go get her purse from our VIP table before we left and he grabbed her arms and shoved her, as she cried, through the crowd of people there and called her a "stupid little sl*t" I ran after her and was also grabbed by security, who said I assaulted him - yet, another lie - and eventually they let me go to run after my friend who was, in fact, just assaulted by this roid-head. Once the group of us was mostly outside, we were again harassed by the outside security and the police presence because we were simply asking to have our questions answered. Another girl in our group was asking for information to file a complaint and she was forcefully removed from the area. It was a disgusting display of authority-abuse on a group of young women. We are filing a suit with the Better Business Bureau. But that doesn't seem like enough. If you are a woman, or if you are a man who respects women in general, would you want to be treated like this? Or have someone you care about treated like this? Their abusive behavior was disturbing and disgusting and deserves to be answered for. Someone who can physically abuse a woman and not even have the decency to give his name after doing so is a coward. No matter how "big" you are, you are a coward if you do something like this to someone else. And if you, as a customer of PBR, continue to support this horrific establishment, you are allowing them to get away with their sexiest behavior, disrespectful language, and abusive actions. SAY NO TO PBR ----- and say yes to having fun at the tons of other places you can go to. Another note - I wrote all of this multiple times on their facebook page, and they were cowards again, and erased it. read more

This past weekend was my second time stopping by PBR because a few of my friends were in town visiting. I like the music at this bar but the staffs leave a lot to be desired. I purchased the first round of drinks for my friends and signed by receipts but did not tip on my card as I tend to just tip with cash when at a bar. Their drink literally has no alcohol in it. So I then purchased a second round of drinks and was surprised that the price was exactly the same even though I ordered one less drink. I just blew it off and was like whatever, it's just a few bucks. The next day I was checking my credit card purchases online and saw that PBR had charged me additional money to each of my charges from the day before! Are you kidding me?!? I signed those receipts as an agreement to pay the price that was stated on that receipt. I wasn't drunk and was very much aware of how much I was being charged on those receipts. And yet they had the audacity to charge additional money on my card without my consent. That's fucking illegal!!! read more

This was the worst experience that I have ever had in Baltimore. I came to town for my sisters bachelorette and she was sprayed all over with alcohol by a bartender during a chauvinistic act. A bartender offered us shots as compensation but the manager then told us that we couldn't have them. This establishment is sexist as well as unprofessional and I recommend staying away. Terrible, terrible experience at PBR Baltimore this weekend. Extremely excessive and aggressive force was used to remove a frightened and very upset 105 pound bride from the building after a bouncer stated that she tripped on the dance floor. After they pinned her arms behind her back and began walking her out, 2 bouncers repeatedly called her a 'stupid sl*t' and said 'you don't even know who you're dealing with!' .....ummm we're dealing with a juiced up 24 year old kid on a power trip. On top of this situation the club was unprepared and unprofessional regarding our prearranged VIP party. They lost our license and credit card, did not provide the bride with the appropriate wrist band and made us wait over 35 minutes for our bottle service. The PBR Baltimore facebook page continues to delete my unfavorable post and the management refuses to provide contact information for filing an official complaint. Needless to say, I do not recommend spending your time or money here. read more

Witnessed some crazy stuff go down on Saturday night. A group of girls who were obviously out for a bachelorette party got manhandled and dragged out of the club. It didn't look like they were out of hand at all and, judging by the rest of the crowd, way more in control than a lot of others there. If that kind of thing happened in the street, they'd probably call the police. Who would treat women like that, especially someone they outweighed by 200 pounds. The other reviewers from the other night seem to be right on point. Excessive, brute force isn't necessary. The parents of those bouncers should ashamed of themselves. How do you grow up to be like that? Never going back. Wouldn't feel safe. read more

Best bar to go to on the weekend! Powerplant in general has gotten an awesome facelift in the last two years and has really changed for the best. Pbr is inside of Powerplant and is easily the most fun and packed of all the bars there, there's even an outdoor patio like area too if you just want some fresh air. The bartenders are super nice and serve up some delicious booze, the few times I've gotten bottle service, it's been great and everything is super reasonably priced! The buckle bunny crew (dancers) know their dances and interact with the crowd, watching people on the bull has also been more than entertaining. Overall great establishment and even though it can get wild sometimes, the wild is done tastefully. One of my favorite bars in Baltimore by far, and off course they play country music with a little mix of top 40, but mostly country ! Yeehawww read more

This is probably the best spot in Baltimore to celebrate any sort of event or even just a destination to meet up with friends and let loose for the weekend. My friend had won a happy hour for PBR and I had never been. We got there, and not knowing what to expect, I was not dissapointed! The bar staff was very friendly, not to mention very attractive. They have a mechanical bull! The music was great. Some of us were not into country music but the DJ was very good at mixing it up. If you are looking for a high energy place with a beautiful staff, I highly recommend this bar, you will not be dissapointed! read more
