My issue was on the last visit, the groomer shaved my dog way too close on his private area. This caused a razor burn which he then licked and irritated to the point he couldn't sleep or sit comfortably. I ended up spending $300 in emergency medvet care (visit, cone, topical spray, oral medicine) and when I called to explain so they might update their procedures and not shave so close I was rudely told, Well, you signed the shave policy form. No compassion; didn't even ask if he was okay. We won't be back and I wouldn't trust them with any animal.

Don't cry fault if you didn't tell the groomer first. I've had the fur on ears, bangs and tails trimmed a bit shorter during pick up without a fuss. You get a call that your pet is ready for pick up. They really try and deter you from using the area that the groomer needs to wash a clients dog at the same time. Off peak times are best. I found it a good value, and much easier on your back than leaning over a tub or kiddie pool. Harness setup. Shampoo choices. Comfy no slip mat for your pet to stand on. Fluffy clean towels, or blow dry is available. I should use this self serve more often(#Lazy).

We decided upon Animals R Special. Why? Let me tell you: We found this practice to be exactly what that particular puppy needed. Full service, exceptionally trained vets, who are also empathetic vets, exceptional support staff, and also a practice that is willing to titer vs push vaccines/unneeded procedures. We bring in Wanda. She was treated so well and the communication between vet and client so nice; when I got home I told my husband, "we are switching all of them to this practice" they are extraordinary. And that is exactly what I did today. Today we brought in our 12.5 yr old dog Mo. they knew he had anxiety so they prepped in advance for him. The entire exam was on the floor, with lots of love, cuddles, good boys, and peanut butter treats. He was like a completely different dog. Showed near zero anxiety. Thats the kind of vet I want. One that goes that extra step. They confirmed he was in fact super healthy, his teeth fine. The previous practice kept saying he had cancer and at one appt suggested amputating his leg due to cancer (which btw, he doesnt have, it was a lipoma. Aka fatty growth) and wanted teeth extracted (which I thought was odd as he had no problem eating kibble.). So glad we didnt listen to the former practice as Animals r Special confirmed he is completely healthy and needs none of that. Loki comes in next week. So: if you want an honest vet, that goes the extra mile for your animal and really knows what they are doing.... You have found the right practice. 100%. We have seen both vets at this practice and recommend both the doctors. You cant go wrong with any of the ppl here. Seriously, Animals R Special is the winning place to go to because at this practice the vets/staff here are more than special, they are extraordinary. And that is what we all want for our furry friends.... The best!

I explained to the nurse that I brought the dog to matvet because he was getting worse and I didn't think he could wait till 6 PM to be seen by then. After being cleared by matvet, madvett told me, I can go back to my normal vet so I brought the dog there and they said that my appointment was given away and they could not see him. I said I didn't understand because I did not cancel the appointment. They said that they talked to medvet, and when they knew I went there, they canceled the appointment without talking to me. I told them I want to talk to the doctor the doctor came to me and did not speak to me only yelled and threatened me and said that she would call the police if I did not leave. So I was dumbfounded because i've never been threatened in this way, so I did not say anything, and I got up and walked out. Do not bring your dog here. Not once did I yell or curse or threaten ever. I just said I wanted to talk to the doctor and the doctor threatened me immediately. I've never seen a business run this way. In my 42 years of life, this is unbelievable, and the sad part is, my dog is still suffering and all they could do It's treat me like a criminal.!!! I will be contacting an attorney to see my legal options. And it's contradicting because when I got there and the nurse said that they gave my appointment away. She still brought me back to a room to talk to the doctor I did not ask to be brought to a room. She just said, please come back here to this room with me and said she would get the doctor. All I asked was to speak to the doctor so that shecould see the pain. My dog was in, but it didn't matter. Is when the doctor got there. All she wanted to do was threaten me like a criminal.

On the phone and in person they were very pleasant and looked busy, and they gave me a lengthy consultation, so I felt pretty good about the situation. I asked her to do "poodle paws" on my golden doodle, which means you taper in the paws very short instead of leaving them shaggy (which looks a little ridiculous at first but anyone with a dog who has shaggy paws would know why this makes things a little easier!) I even showed her pictures of what my previous groomer had done as a reference. When I went to pick her up everything looked pretty good except for the fact they took the paws SO SO short, they looked scary. But I thought, oh well, they will grow back and next time I would tell them not to go as short. Then when we got home I noticed my dog licking her paws and when I went to check it out I saw that they were BURNED from the clipper on all four paws and they had burned her upper lip raw as well. Her one paw was so bad that we had to wrap it for almost a week and put wound cream on it. Two weeks later and her paws are healed, but her lip is still healing. Seeing her in pain and uncomfortable for almost 2 weeks broke my heart, and I pray that this will not scar her for life every time I take her to a (DIFFERENT!) groomer.

At the meet and greet Kim was great. I made it clear that my dog is not neutered, as he is an Alaskan malamute and only 8 months. If they know anything about the breed then they should know that it's a high energy breed who needs to adhere to a strict schedule. Apparently my dog was mounting everyone, untrained and made all the other dogs tense. As a pet sitter you should be more than aware of the temperaments of dogs based on breed, age and by experience. If one dog is mounting then he needs to be placed in time out, and be separated. I gave Steven a schedule to follow and tips on how to handle my pup, there is no way he could follow that schedule while managing other dogs at the same time. There is no way that temperaments of these dogs blend well, and for Steven and Kim to fully keep an eye. Eventually after the 4-5th time of my dog mounting another one, my dog and and that dog got in an altercation. After that I was told that my dog was resource guarding...why is my 82lb 8 month old in an area with a 10 week old pup?? I got an alarming message while I was at clinical, that they were not going to accept my dog anymore and that he needs rigorous training. After speaking with my personal dog trainer, the onice is on them to handle the situation. There is a development factor, and excitement factor. My dog was overly stimulated and trying to get attention. my pup was new to an environment, Kim claims my dog isn't trained, when I personally know that we have already been through training courses. How can they expect a dog to react to a situation when he is around an unfamiliar environment, overly stimulated, and around other dogs with a wide range of temperaments to breeds. There is a reason why when you drop off your dog at dogtopia or camp bow wow that they separate large and small breeds as well as age. I was not made aware that any issues were happening throughout the day, instead I get a message that my pup was had a cut due to the altercation. I should have received updates if they were having difficulty with him. Frantic at clinical, i rush out to pick up my dog. They made it seem like my dog would put their kids or other dogs in danger. When I pick up my dog, Steven then says "how would you feel if another person was mounting you". You are comparing my reaction to a man humping me, to a reaction of dogs who are suppose to be under a supervised environment. How dare he?! This is your business, you are made more than aware of the situation. Even if my pup was neutered, he could still mount. 2 days later I realize my pup has a wound that has been scabbed over. I rush him to the vet, after worrying of an infection. He gets placed on a week of antibiotics. I contacted Kim and addressed my concerns. My Vet cannot clearly say that the wound is due to the dog altercation however this is his first altercation with another dog, and I believe the scab is due to the altercation. this could be easily missed because of his double coat fur. I've never had any complaints about my Dog until he was under their watch. The vet has stated that the antibiotics are due to a yeast infection of the skin. I just wanted Kim and Steven to admit to their faults and take some kind of ownership. In the future they should not accept dogs who are not neutered since they do not know how to handle when dogs mount. They should accept dogs based on temperament age and breed if they are going to have that many dogs at a time. Also on a dogs first day the dogs should be introduced one at a time in order for the dogs to get acquainted. My dog was overly excited and overwhelmed. With that many distractions he is not going to listen to your commands especially when he has no respect for you as a pet sitter. His wound is scabbed over due to his double coat fur..What a big disappointment.. Do yourself a favor and do not allow them to watch your pups!!
