SCAM - DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE…read more If you care at all about your pet DO NOT bring them here. What we all want for our pets is good, quality care with a trustworthy vet. But this isn't that type of place. I have a Bernese Mountain Dog - large breed- and my regular vet doesn't provide spay and stomach tacking services for such a large breed. So I started digging and found Lancaster Animal Clinic. IT WAS ALL DOWNHILL FROM HERE. My FIRST consult was with a female vet that gave my dog an exam, but told me she couldn't perform the surgery. If I wanted my dog's spay and stomach tacked, I'd have to have another consult with ON THE SPOT, which is a separate provider that uses their location. At the end of this visit, I was charged for a consult fee and for ear infection treatment. This was completely paid for, in full, no disputes. But a little frustrating when this could have been avoided by the staff when scheduling my appointment because seeing another vet would mean another consult fee... but still I wanted my dog to see the correct vet. So I made a SECOND consult appointment, in July, and came back to see the ON THE SPOT vet, Dr. Reynolds. During this visit, Dr. Reynolds examined my dog, talked to me about the spay and stomach tacking procedure, and I was very clearly uneasy about this and said I wanted to think about it and the associated cost which he quoted as $2,500. The vet also noticed during this visit, a skin irritation on my dog, and offered a special shampoo and pills. I DECLINED and said I would take my dog to our regular vet, but Dr. Reynolds said he would take care of it at no additional charge. I thought this was extremely considerate given I had been at the clinic multiple times and charged for multiple things without ever receiving the services I was there in consult for.... Can you guess what happened next?... I receive a bill, IN NOVEMBER, almost 5 months after the consult, saying that I owe the consult fee and the medication. When describing the situation to the staff, I'm treated as if I'm lying and neither the clinic staff, ON THE SPOT staff, or Dr. Reynolds can acknowledge a miscommunication on their part. I'm asked questions by their billing staff quoted from email "If you were going to get them through your regular vet., why did you take them? If you had any concerns about the fee for the medication why not ask before you left." I had absolutely no reason to confirm something that I thought was perfectly clear to me at that time. This clinic along with ON THE SPOT only want your money. They don't care if you've been a good client, they don't care about your pet...and they don't care about you... I was taken advantage of during my interactions with the clinic's staff and with Dr.Reynolds. I was completely misled which is highly dishonest and unprofessional. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR DOGS HERE! Update 12/9/2022: In response to the comment left by the clinic on Google to clarify a few MORE "miscommunications." Harley was well within the healthy weight for a Bernese Mountain Dog and NO where in her records shows obesity. In her examinations it was suggested to switch her from puppy to adult food to PREVENT obesity. During the exam with Dr. Reynolds - he in fact DID NOT recommend postponing the surgery. He said the skin irritation was not serious enough to cause him concern if we moved forward. AND I didn't just leave...I walked out with a vet tech and even asked what I needed to do before I left. Just PLEASE if anyone is considering coming here - DON'T! I'm really trying to keep pet owners from going through this with their furry loved ones.

Dr F took the time to explain everything to us and took her time with us. We were always able to get quick appointments and be seen quickly when we were worried. Staff was amazing too. They got the paperwork we needed for insurance to us in a timely manner. The visits weren't cheap, but they weren't exorbitant either; I felt they were fair. We will be bringing our other cat children here too when the time is right.

Depending on the behaviors you're working on, they'll even meet you in different environments. I began working with Estate dogs to purchase a new puppy for my return. When I came back in the spring the owners were very adamant that I come up immediately to take the just whelped pup off their hands. When I arrived the dog had none of the desired characteristics of ball drive and coloring that I had described in detail from Afghanistan. We elected to wait for a new litter. Three months later when I contacted Estate dogs for an update I was told that litter "did not take" and there were no dogs available. I asked for a refund minus a service fee and the owners have refused to answer my calls or email me. I would caution anyone from working with this business. I cannot say enough good about this place. Between the hospitable boarding, to the vet services,…read moreand the absolute genuine care for the well being of our pets, they can do no wrong. I want to give a shout out especially to Dr. Maimone, who is the primary caregiver for our beloved Lab "Dixie" aka "Dixiecup". A little history, Dixie is an American Black Lab who turned 9 this past summer. She is a 9 year old puppy! She's got a spice for life and having fun like no other dog I've ever owned, and she is absolutely the sweetest dog you could ever meet. In October 2022 she got dealt a raw hand, and she was diagnosed with grade two, Subcutaneous MAST Cell Tumor Disease (which is an aggressive form of doggie cancer). Dr. Maimone was the one who performed the surgery to remove some tumors that showed up and had them tested. Dixie had an incision that was about 20 inches long due to multiple tumors being found and removed. Our options were limited, we could do chemo or radiation at the tune of $35-45,000. With no guarantee of success. So we made the decision to keep Dixie as comfortable as possible with palliative care, and once it started to affect her quality of life then we would have to make that dreaded choice to let her go. Dixie was given a prognosis of 3-6 months life span with this disease. We were absolutely heartbroken. Dr. Maimone explained that the MAST Cell is a histamine releasing cell, and that Dixies body was over reacting to said histamine, which was causing the tumors to form. She recommended that we try a benedryl and steroid regimin to try and counteract the histamines being released. We agreed to this treatment to try and give Dixie the comfort she deserved, and to be able to enjoy the time she had left with us. At three months we went in for a checkup and Dr. Maimone said she was pleased with Dixies condition. 6 months came, and Dr. Maimone said she was no longer seeing any progression of the cancer. Then at 9 months, Dr. Maimone said "I think her cancer is in remission". At 1 year, Dr Maimone did another checkup with complete blood work etc, and told that Dixie now had a clean bill of health, and that there werr no signs of her cancer whatsoever! Today, at 15 months, Dixie was out back chasing squirrels and playing with her ball like nothing was ever wrong with her. I cannot thank Dr. Maimone enough for her care and love of animals, especially Dixie. By her hunch on the treatment plan, she has truly given Dixie a miracle. And we are truly thankful and humbled by her genuine care. Thank you again Dr. Maimone! Because of you, Dixie bear the odds and KICKED CANCERS ASS! We are forever in your debt.

Dr. Hurst is amazing in the care she provides and follow-up services. When my geriatric pup had to be euthanized due to spleen failure, she was so empathetic and sympathetic. She provided a book I could borrow to share a beautiful story with my younger son that helped him with the tragic loss. More recently, I had rescued a dog from the county shelter that tested positive for intestinal worms. Dr. Hurst was fantastic as she provided the necessary care and continued follow-up until the dog was "free and clear". She even called after each testing herself (unfortunately the first round didn't clear him up) to discuss directly with me. She also made suggestions on items like probiotics and other helpful things I often keep large-xlarge dogs and knowing Dr. Hurst has equine experience, also gives additional help with the bigger pups and the varying care they need vs the smaller dogs. I had a cat years ago and received equally wonderful care. The staff is also super nice and always helpful. I often suggest this vet to those in my area looking for a vet for their pets. Great practice. The sister practice is also wonderful and it's really nice knowing you have a vet on call always between the two for emergencies.

The interior facility looked nice, i would have gladly paid the additional cost for a big private area for them, but only general pupulstion was available. I was hesitant from the get go leaving my dogs here, the conditions looked like a puppy mill, but i was told that they have a vet onsite and that the conditions would be fine, lots of other dogs, etc, etc, etc.. well, with little other choice they were left. The staff is actually amazing. Everyone was helpful and nice, probably the best dog-sitters from a compassionate point of view. Unfortunately, much like multiple other reviews listed here, our dogs came home hurt, two had kennel cough, another had some form of bacterial infection and was on some form of medication for almost 3 months. I think the staff is wonderful to your pets, but the place must be filthy. I really wanted to like this place, as the staff was far better than the pet palace, but my dogs come back safe from pet palace and financially the pet palace is actually cheaper.
