Instead? Total professionals. Check-in was smoother than a cat sliding off a countertop. The exam was quick, painless (for everyone involved), and they even managed to draw blood without summoning a demon. Impressive. And the mani/pedi? Let's just say the world is a safer place now that her murder claws have been filed down. She strutted out like she just left a feline day spa, not a horror movie set. Oakside, you're brave, you're skilled, and possibly a little bit enchanted. Highly recommend--even for your own furry little Freddy.

We were part of the recent merger from The City Dog Daycare to Park Your Paws. We are a couple…read moremonths in and so far, it has been a smooth experience. Ellie has been with The City Dog since 2018 and we're glad the space still feels familiar for her. There are some different faces around but we have experienced that over the years and love that Ellie still feels at home. We boarded her for 6 days and 5 nights in June (for Vaca) and were really happy with the care she received. Prices on boarding have gone up a lot for a dog suite, but they honored our previously booked rate which we appreciated. We also did a recent daycare visit on July 3 and still have several days left in our old package that we can use this year before making any real changes. The only downside is the change from member packages to a new (for us) monthly subscription model. It's not really that appealing or attractive to us. The subscription based model takes away the flexibility we enjoyed as longtime customer. So we never felt like we were losing money for services we didn't use. Overall, space is great, now larger, with the building combined and noting we are a couple months in on the merger. We will see how things go over the next few months, but for now we feel good about the transition and would recommend Park Your Paws Columbus-Downtown, especially for boarding and daycare. Ever since a switch in management, both the RM and GM only care about money. Your dogs are not safe. The reason this location keeps ratings up is by reviews by employees and management themselves, which is deceiving and frankly, quite pathetic and sad. My OWN dogs were boarded here over the summer. My epileptic dog was not given her lifesaving medication because it was just placed in her food bowl (she doesn't usually eat at PS). The next day, my other dog was fed surrounded by her sisters diarrhea from the previous night. As an employee, I witnessed so many dogs come down with illnesses that were not disclosed to owners. One dog was leaking diarrhea constantly and the GM, Nickole, would not allow it to go to the vet unless it also vomited. Groups are always over the ratio of 25:1 which not only puts your dogs in danger, but also us as employees. Please exercise caution if you choose this awful business. I'm talking about a favorite pet speciality shop, Captivating Canines. (See pictures) For about a year we'd noticed that the store was no longer at the corner of Main St. and Westerville in downtown Westerville. We were saddened to see it go because it had been a favorite shop to pick up unique Christmas and birthday gifts for pet owner friends and family. So, when we walked out the back door of Old Bag of Bones, we could see this new shop and decided to check it out. Ron, the new owner had bought the store but relocated just a short distance down Main St. Although he told me he wasn't a huge "BUCKEYE" fan, I was willing to forgive him of that small indiscretion as we continued to talk about the store and new inventory he had on display. He was very gracious and allowed us to walk around and take pictures of him and specialized, fun merchandise he had in the store to share with you. It is a very relaxed environment so you can casually take your time to look around. Many items are marked down 50%. I was equally impressed and appreciative that the shop was designed to be handicap friendly with ample aisle space that allowed me to take my walker to any place I wanted to go.

Every time we go in Captivating Canines, the owner is so friendly and helpful. We have a puppy and go there for most of his basic needs and some more we didn't know about. Today we had to get his second collar and a new harness. They have a great selection of bright and colorful and fun designed collars and harnesses. We always come away from there happy and in a good mood. Such a sweet little place. It's fun to shop in and not overwhelming, like the big pet supply stores. Definitely make a stop, it's fun just to stroll and I guarantee you'll find something unique!

Very Disheartening…read more As a business located in Franklinton, Ohio, Play Pets management should be incredibly saddened. This morning I stopped in their empty parking lot for 1 minute to pack a bag and give a local homeless women socks, toothpaste, and other essentials. When I left my vehicle to deliver the bag I was immediately confronted by a staff member yelling that I couldn't park there. I acknowledged his concern and reassured him I would be back in 30 seconds tops. Nonetheless he continued to yell and threaten to tow me. Making the situation more absurd, after a minute of nonsense back and forth, I apologized and agreed to move my car 50ft to the next door gas station. I proceeded to deliver the bag to homeless women in 30 seconds. I am sure this is not the brand image and empathy a local business wants to portray, but it's only fair the community know what type of people are taking care of their loved pets.

Due to our cat of 9.5 year's sudden passing we were recently looking for a new kitten/cat to fill…read morethe big cat shoes that were left behind. My wife and I visited Colony Cats, Cat Welfare, and Cozy Cat Cottage to name a few. With all of the wonderful potential fur kids we saw we didn't see the one that we just connected with. We decided to go to Pets Without Parents as it was a rescue that we had not been to before and it was just down Indianola from our house. We had no expectations when we went to PWP other than we knew that they were a smaller rescue that was located in an older house. When we walked in we were pleasantly greeted by a volunteer and showed where the hand sanitizer (so that we could clean our hands between kitties). The individual who greeted us was figuratively knee deep in cleaning dog cages but, she was friendly and responsive when we had questions. There, in the center cage on the bottom was this beautiful kitten! Both of our hearts melted when we saw him, as he was nearly the spitting image of the cat we had just lost. The individual working the shelter that day let us know that those two kittens were meant to be picked up today by the person that was adopting them. Our hearts collectively dropped as then we knew that of the cats at PWP, these were the ones that we shouldn't get attached. We petted all the cats that we could, well save the brand new box of feral kittens! I am sure that in no time they'll be adoptable little fluffs! Despite not seeing a cat/kitten we connected to we decided to put in an application. The application was very similar to others you might see when adoption a new animals. Asked for references, job information, current pet information, veterinary contact, as well as things the adopter's view on declawing. Much to my surprise I received a call the very next day from the PWP shelter manager! I thought that the call may have been to clarify the application we had submitted but, it was not. The adoption on the beautiful kitten (that was meant to go home the day before) had fallen through. They wanted to know if we would like to come meet the little we had seen the day before. We quickly (and gleefully) went back to PWP to officially meet & pet this kitten. Cat carrier in tow, of course, just in case! If you adopt through PWP you get a wellness check up card for use at the vet where the animal has received their vaccines & spay/neuter. We took this offer so that we could get our new little friend checked out before we established him at our vet. This was great as he had a cold (that they were treating him for) and we were able to proceed to the next step in treatment, an antibiotic shot to help knock out the remainder of the kitty cold. The adoption contract at PWP is more heavily worded than others might be. There is a provision in it where if the contract is broken that PWP can seek money from the adopter who has broken the contract. It seems to me that this is included to bring home the gravity that is the responsibility of adopting a furkid. Oh, and I can verify that the folks at PWP do check references, which is great since they are working to place pets in well suited homes. P.S. Pets Without Parents is loud. With the pupsters looking for a new home in the adjacent room, any kitten/cat adopted from these guys will likely be a-okay with loud sounds and barking dogs. Train tracks also run right next door to the rescue. P.P.S. Our new kitten is fitting in purrfectly at home.

They have a vet that comes in so ask about that if you are in need. The vet works with the dog warden to help the dogs they rescue. Friendly, helpful staff and the store dog Hank is a sweetie.
