Petland was great about letting me spend as much time as I needed with my new potential pup. They…read moreeven let me walk her around the store. The downsides to a Petland pup is potty training has been awful. Having to go in the pens has set back potty training from a normal non pet store pup. She goes in her cage all the time and has had many accidents in the house. They also didn't really talk about her health history until after I was filling out paperwork and practically ringing up. This is something that you should ask about right away if you are considering buying from them. Thankfully her defect is small and she should grow out of it. Fingers crossed. The vet exam and puppy kit were nice. Luckily I had most stuff at home already having an older dog. I do also like the fact that they have a puppy for life program, and if something happens to her I can get another dog at some point. Overall I am glad to have found the breed and sex I wanted. Wish it wasn't a Petland pup. I think we will be better after potty training but honestly it's been a nightmare. I have raised several other dogs and don't recall potty training being so difficult. Patience is key!

Avoid Bread Financial/Petland Financing - Predatory Interest Rates…read more I am writing this to warn others: Never, ever use the financing system at this location (Petland) to buy a pet, no matter how much you fall in love with the animal. The financial arrangement is nothing short of a scam. Say a puppy was priced at $6,000--already an insane amount--but the financing option makes it far worse. The Trap: They are using Bread Financial (often through Comenity Capital Bank) with interest rates ranging from 35% to nearly 40% APR. Example: Total Interest = $6000 × 36% × 5 (yrs) = $10,800.00 End Balance = $6000 + $10,800.00 = $16,800.00 IF YOU ONLY PAY THE MINIMUM IT WILL BE EVEN WORSE DO. NOT. DO. THIS!!!! This is predatory lending that tugs at your heartstrings to make you ignore the fine print. Employees make it sound like a great, manageable deal, but it is a horrible, exploitative scheme that preys on people who may not be able to afford these prices outright. These shops, often connected to puppy mills, should not be allowed to operate this way. It is a shame that they are making massive profits off the misery of both animals and consumers. Do not use their credit system.
