Shaved so close on the sides of her neck, pink skin showed thru.

We brought Dixie here for the first and last time on April 1st. We didn't expect an April Fool's joke of a visit. I showed a picture to Ana and explained we like a neat, clean look. I never said SUPER short. Jin, the owner, did the job and her hair was cut so short I could see her sensitive pink skin on several areas. I expressed my concern later over the phone with Ana, she spoke over me and ended up telling "I guess you can just go somewhere else". Oh that's for sure. i went there as a new customer because it's close to home, but will never go back. Too bad because we love to support local businesses vs. big chains. I get that they are understaffed and really busy as we reopen, but when you are dealing with people's fur babies, care needs to be taken with every appointment.

When I had my two dogs I took them here occasionally. Such friendly staff and so well trained. They were so clean and beautiful after their spa day. I love this place.

I took my Shorkie to get groomed and had given them instructions on how I wanted her hair cut before taking her in. Apparently the person taking the instructions wrote everything down. Since my Husband picked her up, I didn't get to see her till he got home with her. They didn't do what I asked! I immediately called them to voice my concern and I requested to take her back the next day so they could make the necessary corrections. I took her back, and it seemed they were bothered about me taking her back. I didn't understand what the problem was in cutting her hair to my liking!! Her hair was literally chopped of. No tapering! After they took her back a couple times, I finally told them to just leave her as is. I am very dissatisfied with the service. I will NEVER take her back!

Took my dog there for the first time yesterday. She hadn't been groomed in several months, due to a bad groom. Paws Pause did a FANTASTIC job! We have found our new groomer. Thank you.

I've taken my dogs here for years . Always wonderful and never a problem. my pup now blind and jumpy and they very careful with her.

Before & After. LOVED THE OUTCOME!!

It was my first time taking my mini schnauzer here. It was my puppy's first grooming experience so we were both nervous on how she would do. The owner was very accommodating and understood our needs. She told me that if my puppy was too nervous and didn't cooperate then she would only do the minimum and we would need to come back. Luckily my schnauzer stayed the entire time and she looked so cute after! The owner and receptionist were so nice and helpful and I would highly recommend this place to my friends and family!

Out here in Palm Desert we are fortunate to have some truly wonderful small businesses…read more Many of us in Sun City Palm Desert (9,000 or so residents) can be seen in our golf carts with poodles, Havanese, chiweenies, boxers, maltese, king charles spaniels, westies, greyhounds, and mixes of all of the above. We have three senior rescues who love their treats. One has a kidney condition, so she has a special diet. On Wednesday, I stopped in to Pet Oasis for the first time. We needed a little bell for our little blue heeler/GSP mix who is now deaf, so that I can hear when she is around my feet and I can keep from falling over on her. Jeannine helped me find the perfect bell plus the most amazing and reasonably priced soft treats for these old doggies. The store is gorgeous, and to a pet owner, a lot like Christmas morning. Toys, feeding pads, beds, climbers, jackets, and all kinds of colorful accessories will catch your eye. It is just a beautiful place! There is a wall full of various refrigerated meals, including one special kidney support product that appealed to us for our darling patient. There are many, many soft treats, vegan treats, and broths of several kinds. I found one amazing turkey bone broth which is kombucha inspired. This is the kind of store where I "run in to buy a couple of things" and then carry a shopping bag full of goodies. Maybe I need a secret checkbook and title the purchases "essentials". I was headed out to my husband's physical therapy session and it was a bazillion degrees outside so I left my items with Jeannine and her coworker where they'd remain cool until Incould return after. The three dogs were thrilled to get the lamb treats and the fish when we got home. Little Annie, now wearing her cat bell, gobbled up her prescription food from the vet's office which also had the broth on top. I found the prices reasonable and the assortment of flavors, whether raw or air-dried, to be extensive. My own human food cabinet is way less appealing than is their special treats drawer. Knowing Pet Oasis is here right down the street is fantastic. The people are welcoming and knowledgeable. Love for pets is in the air here. I guess I can manage to eat my broccoli frittatas and black beans every day so we can bring an appealing culinary experience to these rascals and sneak in to Pet Oasis for new surprises. "Are they spoiled" you ask. Yes they're spoiled. Little alarm clocks watching for meals and snacks in their bellies are never wrong, am I right? You can find us on the third tee greenbelt at Mountainview Golf Course, sitting on a bench on the hillock, mostly every morning, sharing treats from Pet Oasis, listening to podcasts, and smelling all the smells.

Lee is literally an angel. Besides the fact that he is the…read moreonly reliable, ethical and professional breeder in the Coachella Valley, he is also just a genuine lover of birds, Especially our parrot friends! Unlike pet stores that buy their baby birds from huge bird mills, Lee treats every bird as if they were his own up until time to hand them over to their new mama or Papa . Of all the many places that I have gotten cockatiels, the two that I have now are the sweetest most talkative that I have ever owned. I had a friend come in from New Jersey a couple weeks ago, and she has had literally 30 birds at once, all parrots. She also has her college degree in zoology or some other degree that I can't remember that specializes in birds? And she was impressed with the level of love, affection, and attention that my cockatiels want all the time. That is not always the case with this type of bird. When you have to go out of town, it's not as easy as leaving a dog with one of your best friends. Unless someone is a bird person, they are either reluctant or I am reluctant to leave my BIRDS with them because I know that it's a whole other process to babysit my babies . Thank God for Lee and his inexpensive, boarding services. If you request it, he will have your bird with wings clipped, nails trimmed, beak trimmed whatever you need by the time you come back to pick up your feathered friend. I know there are a lot "pet sitters" that advertise that they will watch your bird in their home, but buyer beware. I have heard horror stories of how they let the bird out of the cage and the bird flies out an open window or a cat or a child. has hurt the bird. One thing I love about the new location where Lee is at, it is super secure with double door type protection, and he does not even allow customers to play or visit with your birds that he is watching for you, for their safety. I also love that it's a family business and you see his kids running around and learning the business. And although it's a smaller store, it's plenty adequate to display tons of toys, snacks, high-quality seed and pellets as well as my favorite part, he always has BIRDS for sale , and is always working on his next set of babies. Not to mention, but to my knowledge, he is the only person anywhere close to here that sells something called a helicopter parakeet . I'm about three or four weeks away from moving into my new home, and I've built a little indoor Avery so my birds can jump around and feel free and not be in their cage as much when I'm gone, and I plan on adding one of these beautiful little parakeets to my collection. And I'd like one more medium size parrot, about the size of my green cheek Connor, but a little bigger. He has these cockatoos with the most breathtaking rose colored heads and feathers. Every time I go in there, I see some new type of parrot that I've not seen before, or some coloring on a cockatiel that I've never seen and it's just a wonderful experience. The only problem is he could use more help , lolololol. Because there's annoying people like me that just wanna sit and look at every single bird for sale, and ask 10,000 questions while he's trying to do grooming, daily feed and care of his birds and help customers who are actually purchasing things! He is always so straightforward, his prices are incredibly fair, even less expensive than magnolia bird farms in Riverside, which is quite a hike to get to, and many of their birds are not hand trained despite what they try to tell you . Don't be deceived by people who say oh I hand raised this bird . Taking a baby bird away from its mother and just simply feeding it with your hand is a far cry from actually raising a bird to want to trust and love humans . Lee has certainly mastered that art. Please go by and support him today, we would be in a lot of trouble if we lost EXOTIC BIRDS UNLIMITED

DANGEROUS LACK OF TRAINING -- SPECIAL NEEDS DOG PARENTS BEWARE…read moreI will never bring my dog back to this location, and I highly caution anyone with a special-needs or senior dog against using their grooming services. My senior greyhound suffers from SLO (Symmetrical Lupoid Onychodystrophy), an autoimmune condition affecting his nails and paws. He requires regular nail trims every 3 weeks. On Friday, I checked him in at the salon, and once the groomer looked him over, was told he would be ready in 45 minutes. Minutes later, I received a phone call from PetSmart stating they were rushing him to an emergency vet because his paw was bleeding. Because of his condition, minor bleeding is a known risk that is easily managed with styptic powder--which a professional grooming salon should have readily available-and bandaging. I told them I was right down the street and to wait, but corporate policy apparently bypassed communication, and they were already transporting him. When I arrived at the vet location to meet them, I found the groomer and my dog standing on the hot, 105-degree, La Quinta black asphalt. My greyhound--a breed with incredibly thin skin and zero tolerance for extreme heat--was standing on the scorching ground with a plastic trash bag wrapped around his foot, held in place by a tightly tied ribbon on his leg. This makeshift "bandage" was not only deeply unprofessional, but incredibly dangerous, risking burns to his pads and cutting off circulation to his leg. The lack of basic first-aid knowledge, the absolute panic over a predictable symptom, and the complete disregard for the outdoor elements in La Quinta summer heat is entirely unacceptable. There is a whole aisle in PetSmart with first aid products, so I'm still very confused about why a plastic bag was wrapped around his paw. And why would anyone who knows anything about dogs have a dog standing in full, middle-of-the-day, 105 degree sun on black asphalt? After using the styptic powder available at the vet, I took my dog home immediately and bandaged him properly myself. If you have a dog that requires actual care, knowledge, or specific handling, do not trust this corporate salon. Their panic overrides basic animal safety. I seriously wonder how much training their groomers receive.

Right at the entrance, a local rescue had puppies up for adoption. It was more than just cute--it was heartwarming. It wasn't just a display--it was a chance to make a real connection, and you could feel it. When the line at checkout started to build, one of the employees didn't hesitate--immediately opened another register without being asked. That kind of customer service is so rare these days, and I immediately noticed it. It kept things moving and let the old lady at the front take her time. What really struck me, though, was the atmosphere. People chatted with each other in the aisles about pets, swapped advice on the best dog beds, and pointed out toys their pets loved. The staff was right there in sharing their experiences and expertise in equal measures--friendly, helpful, and clearly there for the animals. PetSmart wasn't just a place to shop--it was a place where animal lovers connected. Efficient, caring, and full of heart. I'll definitely be back.
