Today was my first time bringing my dog in for a grooming. I read so many great reviews at this particular petsmart in Palm Desert. Sandy and Sonny welcomed me and my pet with amazing customer service they were so kind . Sandy took care of my baby, sandy was so kind and helpful , making sure I knew what to expect and the deals/promotions for being a customer with them ! When I picked up my baby she looked beautiful , cleaned and so happy !! She enjoyed her self care evening with the ladies at petsmart ! Took our 2 dogs to be groomed at the recommendation of a friend. Were able to make an appointment within three days of our phone call.. . We are required to bring in proof of current immunization... One of our dogs is a rescue and has some trauma response so they assured us Sunny would be a great match for our dogs! Within three hours, we are back to pick up our dogs who looked adorable and Sunny did an excellent job ! It's clear she loves what she does! I haven't visited a PetSmart in a really long time. My soulmate puppy of 17 years died three years ago and I haven't dared to enter a pet store since. But, I have an employee who has five animals, and I wanted to gift him with a gift card. This PetSmart was really chill and relaxing. The gift card was easy to get and I picked up a little chew toy to go with it. I didn't really roam all of the aisles and I wasn't looking for anything specific, so I can't speak to what products people might be looking for that they hope are stocked up. But I can say it's really easy parking in a very convenient location. And it wasn't stinky or loud or weird. read more

Nami's favorite Groomer Aimee. We had to go through several locations, several groomers...to find the perfect groomer and finally found her. Previously Nami would refused to leave the car, shake and act mistreated just when it was time for grooming this was not her normal behavior. During a training class with Lori, I shared my concerns on Nami's grooming behavior. She suggested trying Aimee. All our problems solved. Aimee listened to me on concerned after the first appointment she sat down explained how it went and made her suggestion. NEVER AGAIN! Took my dog for his 9:30am grooming appointment with Frankie. At 1:20pm I get a call telling me that my dog had to be taken to a veterinary hospital because they tore the quick on one of his nails. Not only did they hurt my dog, he was only partially groomed even after being there for 4 hours. So now I have an injured dog, I have to give him medicine for the next ten days, he has to wear a cone, I have to take time off from work for his follow up vet appointment, and I have to take him back to a groomer to finish his cut. I will never go back to PetSmart groomers ever again!!! read more

Today I witness something that was traumatic to me and I think to my dog. He was at the groomers and his pad got cut by the groomers shears. It was truly not the groomers fault the dog kicks his back legs and the clippers cut his pad. All this said the groomers expedited calling the urgent care and called me to let me know what had happened. And they were taking him to urgent care to have the vet look at the cut. This to me meant a lot and they stayed at the vet till we found out that he was going to be fine just need to watch it for a few days and have it rechecked in a week. To make sure it's healing. I want to personally thanks Ronnie and Kaylee groomers for acting responsible and diligent. And the store manager and assistant store manager for follow up and the help as well. Thank you very much. I dropped my dog off at 10 am 08/27/23 to get a wash, cut and her nails clipped. The groomers said it would about 3 hours. After no call at 115pm I went in to pick her up. They informed me at the desk that she had explosive diarrhea and they could not cut her hair. They told me they called me, once, and spoke to someone that only speaks spanish. Unfortunately I don't speak Spanish, wish I did. I don't know who they spoke to but it wasn't me. I checked my phone no call from them. They did give her a bath but she was still damp when I picked her up. Why did they not call me more than once. I spoke to the store manager. He apologized but offered no explanation of why I wasn't called more than once. I have been going to Petco for five years and expected a more professional job from them. I will have to seriously reconsider using them again. read more

Then they chg. $5.98 disposal fee. Total chgs. $119.72 You can get all this done at the VCA Animal Hospital in Rancho Mirage for $73.40 . Don't use Banfield Vets in Pet Smarts. read more

I've been coming to this grooming department for 15 years. They scheduled me with a different girl and my standard poodle came back shaved. I couldn't believe it was my dog when we picked him up. The groomer never said anything about shaving him to the skin. They botched him one half of his face and eyelashes were shaved off,his feet still have some hair on them....I honestly don't even know what happened! They have new groomers and I wouldn't take any of my pets back here ever again! Wow! Another wonderful experience (of course) with Adrienne and the whole grooming dept! They got my baby Halloween party ready, complete with the most adorable bows to match her outfit!!!! Adrienne always goes the extra mile in putting together all of those finishing touches that make all the difference, and in such a way that even the most finicky of babies appreciate. Crystal (who is also so awesome), even calibrated to finish the look. It's very unusual to find a groomer that takes such an interest in getting the style just right! Our dog -- a female chihuahua-poodle mix -- absolutely loves Crystal, who has been grooming her for about 5 years now. We have a somewhat nervous and timid little dog who was never comfortable going to a groomer before she met Crystal. With previous groomers, she'd come home and shake afterwards and act weird for at least a day. Since we started taking her to Crystal, she's completely different. She doesn't mind being groomed and always comes home a happy dog. It's apparent that she loves feeling cute with a new haircut... and Crystal is masterful at what she does. They might not have the cheapest prices around, but Petsmart usually has everything I need under one roof. It's location is convenient for me, and the staff are helpful and friendly. I'm in the middle of our first obedience class, and it's been great so far. The trainer is terrific, and our dog responds really well to both him and to the technique he's taught us. It also gives our dog a chance to socialize a bit with other dogs. If you prefer, you can pay for one-on-one classes instead. For newcomers, I highly recommend the free 'new pet orientation' session. They have few takers, so we got a one-on-one session with the trainer and got some great information. It wasn't a hard sell at all and we felt no pressure to enroll in classes (but we did). It let us meet the trainer and decide if we were comfortable with him. He seems to really care about animals and wants you to succeed with training to make life better for you and your pet. Once our dog has learned some manners, we'll give the grooming salon a try as well. read more

The staff, at this PetSmart location (Monterey Ave.), knows a thing or 2 about great customer service. As a senior citizen, I just purchased my first puppy and I know zero about pet care. Albert (Store Mgr.), Vanessa (Ancillary Staff) and Bianca (Pet Groomer Extraordinaire) came to my rescue and literally walked me around the store, guiding and helping me make the appropriate selections. This is the kind of old school service that is now defunct in most establishments. Try getting someone to help you at Walmart (LOL). Thank you all for a great shopping experience! Went to store. Check out no cashier was there. Waited 4 minutes and nobody came. Called the store to tell them that I was waiting at the cash register and nobody was there. Immediately many employees appeared out of nowhere. I voiced my dissatisfaction to the cashier #698868 (she was not wearing a badge) and was told that there was only a couple of people working today when at that time I could count 5 at the front of the store. I was then treated rudely by a flippant employee who tried to make my transaction very difficult. It is a shame that the employee had to take their mistake out on the customer. There are many other pet stores to choose from and Pet Smart might not be one anymore. read more

Whoever hires the employees for this particular Petsmart obviously doesn't care about Customer Service. While shopping today my sister and I were looking for dog collars and harnesses when one of the employees went by us at least three times with the big cleaning machine. It was obvious that we were having trouble and he basically ignored us. Check out wasn't much better. The woman who checked us out didn't even greet us and seem to have the personality of a dead smell. Drive the 1500 remaining feet, went in store. No product just confirmed in stock. Asked associate, she also needed item name multiple times, not on shelf, climbed ladder not on overstocked area. Again she asked name and told another associate she couldn't find item. I explained I called and second associate stated clearly the product was sold before I arrived. Hmmmmn People that don't want to work should actually not be hired for jobs, as neither "worker" I encountered in store had a clue and person on the phone clearly lied, and I think it was the first associate that was on phone. "High Calorie Gel", one brand one name-two different workers couldn't remember name? Better service in Wally World, and there's usually a language barrier.
