The young man working there seemed delighted by my white mini-schnauzer and gave him a treat as soon as we walked in. We talked about the services and products the store offers, and I appreciated his knowledge about the products and his enthusiasm for pets. I made a selection of a wee pumpkin-flavored cake and a bully stick, and my pup was super happy about these choices. I've been shopping for my dog and cats food here since the day they opened in Palm Desert. I've experienced both great and satisfactory customer service. At one point there was a reward program offered to me where I would receive a free bag of dog/ cat food after my 14th purchase of the same Fromm brand food. At one point I did receive a bag of free food, but that happened once within over 6 years. After a period of time I asked a sales associate about my rewards total and I was told I was only a couple bags away from a free bag of food. I was puzzled knowing I was well over my 14 bag purchasing requirement, but I didn't argue and blindly trusted Bones-n-Scones to be honest and keep track of their loyal customers purchases. On another occasion which would have been the day I should have received my free bag of food, I was told I still hadn't totaled the 14th bag of food limit and I needed to keep track of my purchases. What????! I was floored, irritated, purchased both my cat and dog food, then left. Because my pets only eat Fromm and due to Bones-n-Scones being the only pet food store in the Coachella Valley who carries it, I had no other option but to continue shopping here. So once again, I go to Bones-n-Scones to buy my pets food and while talking with the sales associate before purchasing my pets food, I expressed my confusion and concern as to why I hadn't been honored a free bag of either one of my pets food yet knowing I was well over purchasing 14 bags of each. I was then told they "changed their reward program to a points program" and they "didn't have me in the system". Disappointed and heated is an understatement as to how I felt. The sales associate just said, "I'm sorry!". But "I'm sorry" doesn't cut it after a loyal customer has spent thousands of dollars over more than a 6 year period of purchasing cat & dog food, treats and other items. I will never shop here again and would rather pay shipping costs for my pets food. Unbelievable and Unacceptable!!!!!! read more

What a friendly lovely pet shop! Every one there is so nice and they were super accommodating to my needs. My sweet kitty was sick with kidney disease and he was extremely picky about his food. One day he loved something and the next day he wouldn't touch it. The store allowed me to bring back unopened cans and get a refund or exchange them for something else. I did this so often in his last month that I was almost embarrassed but they always had a great attitude and a no problem approach. Emerson did a great job explaining the types of food that might best suit my boy. In the end I had to put him to sleep and I called the store to let them know. They were genuinely sympathetic and I appreciated that. We will be bringing a new kitten into our home in July and I will definitely be back to your store. read more

So many great things to say about this place! Me and my fur baby Vivian walk here sometimes to get a fresh treat and she's always so excited and knows where we are headed! I have a very picky husky when it comes to treats and she loves all their homemade ones ... especially the cheese ones! She also loves the little bully sticks and they are affordable for me! This place has better prices over anywhere in the desert and over chewy! The number one reason why we love it here though is bc of the service!! 100 stars for service. I thought the store was nicely stocked and friendly. I took a star away because of my pet peeve: hiding the samples. Because I buy premium food and pay premium prices, I do not think I should have to ask for and/or justify a request for a sample. My cats, in particular, require variety but I hate spending a lot of money on food they won't eat. Some stores are generous with samples but this one is not. I bought the Indigo Gold kibble for my cats based on a sample I received from a different store that was closed on Sunday. I kind of wish I'd waited and purchased from the store that was generous with samples. I wouldn't even have picked this brand to sample and it turns out my guys love it. read more

Ended up here on vacay with my dog and needed to switch her food asap because she was having an allergic reaction. They carry all the great natural brands, lots of frozen and freeze dried brands. I ended up going with a freeze dried brand which I had planned to. Had very limited ingredients and I noticed a difference within a few hours of switching her food. The also carry Zymox brand which makes great medicated shampoos and topical anti-itch products. They're the best in the market. The staff here is very knowledgeable. The employee that helped me was extremely helpful and directed me to exactly what I needed. The prices are probably better online but this place was here when I needed it in a time of desperation and it saved my dog from getting worse so I will support this place.
