Out here in Palm Desert we are fortunate to have some truly wonderful small businesses. Many of us in Sun City Palm Desert (9,000 or so residents) can be seen in our golf carts with poodles, Havanese, chiweenies, boxers, maltese, king charles spaniels, westies, greyhounds, and mixes of all of the above. We have three senior rescues who love their treats. One has a kidney condition, so she has a special diet. On Wednesday, I stopped in to Pet Oasis for the first time. We needed a little bell for our little blue heeler/GSP mix who is now deaf, so that I can hear when she is around my feet and I can keep from falling over on her. Jeannine helped me find the perfect bell plus the most amazing and reasonably priced soft treats for these old doggies. The store is gorgeous, and to a pet owner, a lot like Christmas morning. Toys, feeding pads, beds, climbers, jackets, and all kinds of colorful accessories will catch your eye. It is just a beautiful place! There is a wall full of various refrigerated meals, including one special kidney support product that appealed to us for our darling patient. There are many, many soft treats, vegan treats, and broths of several kinds. I found one amazing turkey bone broth which is kombucha inspired. This is the kind of store where I "run in to buy a couple of things" and then carry a shopping bag full of goodies. Maybe I need a secret checkbook and title the purchases "essentials". I was headed out to my husband's physical therapy session and it was a bazillion degrees outside so I left my items with Jeannine and her coworker where they'd remain cool until Incould return after. The three dogs were thrilled to get the lamb treats and the fish when we got home. Little Annie, now wearing her cat bell, gobbled up her prescription food from the vet's office which also had the broth on top. I found the prices reasonable and the assortment of flavors, whether raw or air-dried, to be extensive. My own human food cabinet is way less appealing than is their special treats drawer. Knowing Pet Oasis is here right down the street is fantastic. The people are welcoming and knowledgeable. Love for pets is in the air here. I guess I can manage to eat my broccoli frittatas and black beans every day so we can bring an appealing culinary experience to these rascals and sneak in to Pet Oasis for new surprises. "Are they spoiled" you ask. Yes they're spoiled. Little alarm clocks watching for meals and snacks in their bellies are never wrong, am I right? You can find us on the third tee greenbelt at Mountainview Golf Course, sitting on a bench on the hillock, mostly every morning, sharing treats from Pet Oasis, listening to podcasts, and smelling all the smells. read more

After realizing we left all our dog harnesses at our other home, I drove 3 minutes to The Pet Oasis to purchase new harnesses. The staff member who helped me make a selection was very friendly and provided materials on how to put on the harnesses and that the manufacturer has a lifetime guarantee and will exchange the harness for a new one for half the price. I thought that is so cool! I took my dogs for a walk with their new harnesses and one of the dogs slipped right out of it. I couldn't figure out how to make the harness small enough, so I brought both dogs in and the same staff member helped and fitted them with a smaller size harness, which fit perfectly. Just had a successful dog walking experience and the harnesses are great! They cover less of the dog's body than a regular harness which is great because the dogs get pretty hot walking in Bermuda Dunes. I really appreciated the great service and will enjoy shopping there in the future. read more

This store is so cute! I'm was looking for a new, local place to help me on my journey with my dogs' food and nutrition that isn't a big corporate store. There are so many kibble options it is overwhelming, but when I spoke with Joanna she made it so much easier. She helped me pick out some food and treats for my dogs. I could not be more appreciative of her help and her kindness! She was so sweet and seemed genuinely interested in my pets. They love what she suggested, so I will definitely be back! Truly a dessert oasis for pets. I stopped by the Pet Oasis to replenish pet supplies for Sheila while visiting my parents in Indio. Luckily for me, the Pet Oasis was stacked with pet related goodies! This pet store specializes in healthy and unique pet products. They have everything from bones and toys to your favorite kibble brands. I ended up going home with the largest bag of Orijen Fit & Trim, since were trying to lose a few pounds. I also grabbed a number of their bones and plan to return for the frozen bone marrow chewables. The perfect treat on a hot summer day! I purchased a package of frozen OC Raw Fish from this store and it made my dog ill. My dog has had this food several times from other stores and it was fine. It looked like the food had been defrosted then refrozen as the shape of the food was off. I totally understand this can be an issue as it takes time to unload and load food into the freezers as it is delivered during extremely hot weather. My one star review is due to the fact that this store would not refund or give me store credit when I tried to return it. Their policy is "no returns" on frozen raw food. I would understand that if I was trying to return it because my dog was picky and didn't like it, but it made my dog sick for several days. $50 worth of food had to be thrown away. Very disappointing as I had hoped to find a nearby pet store with raw but don't want to take chances at this one again. read more

Not only are they located next to HomeGoods but in the same parking lot as my vet !!! They have anything and everything you could imagine for your pets. Picked up another brand of raw food to try, dog collar, and pet stairs for the little dogs to get up on the couch and to prevent them from flying off and hitting the ground in a full run. Our dog had jumped of the couch and as a result, would not put any weight on her leg. We couldn't find a vet who would see her for another month. You know I don't have a lot of money I went there to support a small business . I understand their policy is return any food product within two weeks . This was not possible as I was down for a week and my pet did not care for the food . There was a half a cup missing . They stood strong and would not honor me allowing to change up the product . On top of me paying more for the product than I would online . Well that soured me . I am now purchasing online and saving money . I don't know what difference four or five days past the two week Mark would have hurt any but I guess sticking by the rules in this case lost them actually five customers . This place is awesome! I have a medical condition that prevents me from wearing a mask and I was able to shop the entire time without being hassled....except for after the purchase was made the woman behind the counter made a condescending comment to my family thanking them for wearing a mask in a manner that was meant to single me out and insult me for not wearing one. After I explained to her I would have worn one if I medically was able to, she stated to me she understood but also didn't care and it was the store policy. Once leaving the store my girlfriends daughter pointed out that she noticed the gentleman who assisted us couldn't help but keep staring at my girlfriends chest....I will not be shopping at the store again. Being discriminated against for having a medical condition is one thing, but I am completely uncomfortable bringing my family to this store at this point. My dog and I have been shopping here for over a year now and every single visit has been more than pleasant. All the employees are super friendly, very welcoming, and my dog starts crying with joy when we get to the parking lot. They have the best selection in the desert of wholesome foods and snacks and carry so many extra goodies you simply can not find at the competitors. Their leash, collar and harness selection is extensive and so is their toy selection. For a small shop, they pack it in! Lots of really cute clothing pieces too, good quality items you won't see at the other larger stores in town. Aaron is the king of dog food advice! He has helped me from day one of getting my puppy. Such a personable nice guy. They also have a huge selection of really nice high quality tog Tags made in Italy that are a fraction of what other shops sell their tags for. They print on them while you wait. They always have a bowl of treats and fresh water for the pups and they are very generous with their return policy. I go in for one thing but always leave with more. Some favorites are the Stella and Chewy freeze dry toppers, the Bully Butter, the Italian name tags and the nylon leashes. This store continues to impress me. I went there yesterday hoping they were open, which they were. They have it set up so you do not enter the store due to the virus. Instead they have two clerks working at the door. I told them what I needed, they ran my phone number and referred to my same past purchase. This enabled then to fill my request and I got exactly what I needed. The woman who helped me even handed back my credit card on my receipt saying that she wiped my card off. They carry quality foods and pet accessories We have purchased many high quality pet accessories that we have never seen in the big chain stores, especially their cat poles. I really enjoyed all my experiences here at Pet Oasis in Bermuda Dunes. After living in Palm Springs and being a very loyal customer at Cold Nose Warm heart, I found myself looking for a great pet store for Gus Gus once I moved to BD. The staff was very welcoming! I remember coming in the first time sometime around July (anyone who lives in the desert KNOWS you don't shop at 3pm in July). I was tired and stressed from my recent move and realized Gus needed some treats and kibble. The two women helping me were very patient and knowledgable of their store. I loved their selection of raw foods. They made sure to carry USA made treats (none of that made in china crap) and had the antlers that I find either A) hard to find or B) way over priced. $6-12 for their antlers is a great price.
