It was an awesome event and we had so much fun! My son is special needs and I asked about a sensory bag and it was so cool what they provided for the sensory, which included headphones which we used for the balloon drop. The exhibits were so awesome and very engaging for my six-year-old son. His favorite exhibit was where you put scarfs into the little wind tunnel and it would come up the top. But there's so many things for all different ages, including even like 6 to 7 month old. It's such an awesome place and I wish we had something like this where we live! The staff was so friendly and so good with communicating and answering all the questions. We had such a great time for the special event of the balloon drop where they had music and crafts and they just made it feel so festive and fun. It was definitely a highlight of our day! We totally will come back next time we visit Palm Springs!

We used to get a discount with our local (Oregon) zoo membership, but I guess that partnership has changed. We also bring reusable water bottles, snacks and sunscreen with us. All the staff are friendly and there are so many passionate volunteers onsite as well. We had several great conversations with staff and volunteers throughout our last visit. You can tell how much they genuinely care about the animals, They also are well versed in facts and fun tidbits about the animals as well. We love going to the wallabies enclosure- it's our kids's favorite. We go there first since it tends to be less busy and the wallabies are not chilling in the shade yet. It's so special to walk through and have the wallabies just hang out near you and jump around. We loved seeing so many wonderful animals- wolves, giraffes, zebra, rhinos, monkeys, just to name a few. You could easily spend at least half a day here. There is also a splash pad area for the kids to cool off. If in the area I highly recommend you check out The Living Desert.

The living desert zoo flips this idea on its head by focusing on geographical areas that have similar climates and explicitly not accepting animals that won't do well in the desert. We took the guided tour, not so much to avoid walking (even though it was nice to have a shaded golf court in the unexpected 100 degree heat) but so we would have access to a docent guide who could tell us stories. Leila more than did that -- she was incredibly knowledgeable, very nice, and engaging. There are three main areas to explore: African Safari, Australian Adventures, Wild Americas. There's also more than 50 gardens and 1000 acres of hiking trails. My highlights for each area: Australian adventures The laughing kookaburra gets its name from its maniacal-sounding laughs and hoots. Bennett's wallaby is similar to a kangaroo with larger ears. The emu is the second largest bird in the world, can run long distances up to 30 miles an hour, and has built in "sunscreen." Wild Americas Badgers are fierce, able to fight off an attacker many times their own size. Bighorn sheep are specially evolved for the rocky mountain terrain they live in. Chuckwalla lizards defend their territories with head bobbing and pushups -- no idea why that works. African Safari Painted dogs have vibrant color coats with big ears and are excellent pack hunters. The banded mongoose has a striking striped coat and interact with others in what appears to be social games. And of course the highlight of the whole visit -- we got to feed the giraffes. Their tongues are VERY long which they wrap around the lettuce. They are black to guard against sunburn and spongy (if you accidentally touch it). This zoo has something for everyone and every age.

They have a scavenger hunt type of activity where the kiddos need to collect stamps from certain areas and at the end they are gifted with a sea life bracelet. It can get pretty busy inside. I did love coming years ago and they'd limit how many would enter, you felt like you had the whole place to yourself. Now, there's just too many inside and everyone is rushing to be the first one to view the sea life animals. Overall the kiddos and I enjoyed it, and there is an area to touch the star fish, etc which is highly popular and a washing station. They have a tank filled with sharks, you see them swim above you as you walk through this tunnel. Time well spent with the fam here.

First off, the ticket pricing is totally worth it for the whole family. Admission for a 1‑day ticket that includes both LEGOLAND and SEA LIFE typically starts around $99 for adults and as low as $39 for kids (ages 2-12) when purchased online, which made it a great value for all six of us. From the moment we walked in, the kids were thrilled -- especially with the slide right at the entrance that set the tone for fun right away! The aquarium is designed with little ones in mind, and our kids genuinely loved seeing all the colorful fish and sea creatures up close. There were plenty of exhibits to explore and educational videos playing that made it both entertaining and informative for the whole family. One of the highlights was getting to touch some of the tide pool animals at the end of the experience -- a super fun, hands‑on moment that our kids are still talking about! And the staff were fantastic -- friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable. They were happy to answer all our questions and share cool facts about the animals we were seeing. Overall, this aquarium visit was totally worth it, especially for families with young kids who love sea life and interactive experiences. We walked away with big smiles, great memories, and stories the kids can't wait to share. Highly recommend adding this to your family outing list!
