Though were other groomers closer to my home, these places were not as smooth. Since my great experience with Doggy Street, plus mischievous resistance my Shiba would have to water/grooming, I've opted to go back to Jay. The care that's shown towards my little dude, the responsible request for current vaccination records, and the helpful updates on care I may have overlooked, all give me confidence in coming back regularly. Friends have also brought their dog after seeing my Shiba's post-groom look too. Happy to come back and support this business!

I've been bringing my dogs to Jay for over a decade. My oldest, who passed away last year was…read moregroomed by Jay when he was working at Waggers, and it was the best cut she ever had. When I learned that Jay opened his own shop, I was ecstatic! My twins have also been going to him since they were puppies, and they're 8 years old now. Over the years, I've tried a few other places, particularly when Jay's shop was closed for renovations, but I always end up returning to Jay because of his consistent quality. My twins are miniature schnauzers, and they can be quite whiny and yappy with their high-pitched voices, but Jay has always handled them with love and care. Even if I'm a few weeks late in bringing them in, leading to some matting, Jay never makes me feel like a bad dog mom. Jay was the one who suggested I get my oldest dog's eye checked out because he noticed something concerning. He was right, and it turned out to be an autoimmune disease. I'm very thankful for his keen eye; my dog lived a long, good life, passing at 15. Today, I had my twins groomed. Jay noticed a bump under my girl twin's arm and immediately informed me, reassuring me not to worry but to have it checked by the vet. He mentioned that it might just be due to age. Jay has always been exceptionally kind to my dogs, consistently excellent with grooming, quick, and easy to book appointments with. He's a wonderful person to work with, and I'm so grateful to have him in my neighborhood. My pups are well-groomed every 6-8 weeks, and I couldn't be happier with his services. Thank you, Jay, for your hard work and dedication. Grooming is no easy task--I know because I tried during the pandemic--so we truly appreciate you! We will forever be your loyal customers.

She has cut his whole back half plus his ears and front feet, plus he got a bottom half bath - never thought he would let anyone else touch him! Larissa is so careful with him; everything is slow, he gets lots of treats for smelling the scissors and letting her snip, smell and snip, very slow. We go in together and get the job done. When one has a pet like mine, finding partners in his care is essential to securing his future. We have a regular vet, a behavior vet, a KPA certified trainer, and now Larissa, who helps us ensure our boy doesn't look like a little ragamuffin like he did when we rescued him, and helps us teach him not all humans are mean and can actually be really helpful. Thank you, Larissa!

I'm probably going to gush a bit about how much I love this company, so for those of you who only…read morehave a little bit of time, here's the short version: Dina and her team at Liberty Walkers are everything you want your dog walker to be. I initially ran into Dina while walking my dog in Astoria. She was immediately drawn to him because she had grown up with cocker spaniels and she had to say hello. My husband and I had been having issues with our current dog walker at the time, so I was thrilled to learn that Dina owned a walking service and was taking on new clients. A few weeks later, we officially made the switch to Liberty (our previous dog walking company even recommended them!). We've only been working with Liberty for a few weeks, but I can readily say they have exceeded all of our expectations. Dina and Kate both walk our dog, and they are always extremely upbeat and prompt about letting me know how the walk went -- I can really feel how much they love dogs and how well they treat ours. They are also incredibly helpful about bringing in packages and refreshing our dog's water, and it puts my mind at ease knowing they can give Bogey a break every afternoon. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

I wish there were more stars! Royah is amazing. She is extremely passionate about her craft and…read moreyour dog is in great hands. I highly recommend. At the time that we contacted her, we were about to add a 4 month old Shih-Tzu to our family. We were incredibly concerned about potty training and making sure he didn't bite/chew our things. Royah didn't have availability right away, but she offered to come to receive him the day he came home for a training session to introduce him to our home/family/routine. She offered guidance on how to set up our home to be most conducive to him getting acclimated. That was incredibly helpful! When availability opened up, we then transition to her Board & Train service -- which is really unique. It builds in opportunities for family visits with our puppy while he was being trained. This made sure that he didn't forget us, but also that we were included in the training. The visits were very fun. Board and Train is not cheap, but should it be? No. Her pricing is also extremely competitive and you get more than what others offer - trust me, I did a lot of research. Royah was also extremely intentional about understanding our family's day-to-day so that she could train him according to our individual circumstance. For example, if no one is home for 10 hours at a time, she needs to make sure that she organizes his day accordingly so that families will have continued success with the dog's routine upon return. If you have a school aged child. During training, Royah would take the puppy to nearby schools so that the puppy gets accustomed to the chaos of school let out, being around lots of kids, and school buses. In addition, to basic training, he also learned some tricks. Royah is also really kind and thoughtful. We had some extremely cold winter days and our pup didn't have a coat, she took him to get one. There were also some bitter cold snow days that didn't allow as much outdoor training as she would have liked, so she kept him an extra two days at no charge. She also continues to be a resource. If we have any questions or concerns on new habits that our puppy has picked up, she will offer guidance and suggestions on how to address. When he returned home, there was a day or two of him forgetting his routine - which is normal. But, then it was smooth sailing. He's accident free in the home and extremely well behaved when out. None of our valuables have been chewed/eaten and he has an amazing disposition. A lot of that is due to Royah's skilled training. I also have to stress that it is very important to continue to replicate what Royah taught at home -- reinforcement is necessary to keep the learned training alive.
