An unforgettable sushi experience. I highly recommend sitting at the counter; it made the entire evening feel intimate and special. Getting to interact with the chefs, Reed and Gaston, and watching their precision and creativity up close truly elevated the meal. Each course felt thoughtful, balanced, and beautifully executed. Ellie was such a sweetheart and added so much to the experience. She kindly introduced each drink, answered all of our questions, and made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout the night. From start to finish, the experience at Pavilion felt intentional, refined, and memorable, exactly what a special night out should be.

WOW - this is the best sushi we've had since moving to Missouri…read more The cuts of fish are fat, fresh, and melt in your mouth! My husband and I ordered the Sushi Boat Deluxe and an Ocean Roll to share. While we waited for the Sushi Boat, the Ocean Roll already told us that the fish was going to be good. My MIL ordered chicken fried rice and house lo mein for her and my toddler. Man, we weren't expecting those dishes to be flavorful, but they were! Could it be? The best fried rice we've had also? Probably! The restaurant itself is pretty small, and the parking lot even smaller. We visited on a Friday afternoon around 3pm, so we didn't have any waiting issues and the staff was super attentive. We will be back because my husband and I want to tackle their Titanic Sushi Boat.

I've had the Bonzai roll before and even though it's a little difficult to eat, it's worth it, especially if you're watching your carbs since this is a riceless roll. The St. Charles mayor roll was packed with flavor and was a very generous number of pieces. I tried the bang bang shrimp this time and they were very large shrimp with a kind of spicy mayo and chili sauce on top, but I have to say it was more sweet and not spicy at all. I would've liked it to have some spicy heat, but it was lacking that. They were packed tonight and had people waiting for tables, but I was able to snag a table for two just a few minutes after I walked in. There are only 12 tables in the entire restaurant.

We ordered a few sashimi and we expected them to be a little fancier. That was on us. The server as with Indo, above and beyond nice, I think they are accustomed to a lot of questions. Ours was amazing, she said "we don't fork shame here" I fork shame, but she refused. Good for her! I also ordered a cocktail. I would arrive to Sado just for this cocktail, it had a coconut pillow top, that was reminiscent of a marshmallow. Delightful compliment to my savory dinner. I was very surprised at the size of Sado on the inside, we made a turn into the seating then a second turn deeper into seating. I did not get to check out the bathrooms, which disappointed me, but the ambiance was very dark and romantic, also unexpected, there were several tables of friend groups.

The words do not convey the end product. For those who do not like sashimi - I understand. At other places, it has literally made me gag. But, I tried it here and holy moly is it good. In a menu of stand out dishes, I think the sashimi is at the very top. The service was wonderful- friendly, knowledgeable, attentive but not too attentive. Gratuity seemed to be included, but we tipped on top of that because the included gratuity was not nearly enough for service that good. Now it is noisy. That is what I did not like, but I have noise challenges. We asked if we could sit up front near the bar. They kindly accommodated us. It was late on a Thursday and the restaurant was full. Definitely make a reservation. There is an adjacent parking lot, but parking fills up quickly. It is evident why the owner has been a James Beard finalist - this is not your average great food. This is more. It is creativity and vibrancy. I almost forgot - price. It is surprisingly reasonable. The dishes are shareable and almost tapas style. 2-3 person is a good amount. Most dishes run $20-30 at this point in time (June 2026). We had really great mocktails which were in the $10 range.

It was raining the night we went and so their having an umbrella stand in the "mud room" was nice. I thought it a good layout how you walk into a small area where you can wipe your feet then proceed further into the restaurant at the hostess stand. As we were walked to our table, we passed a "bar" where you can sit for your meal while watching the sushi master make everything. We were promontory seated and served water. When I asked for a hot sake, and he showed interest, the woman taking care of us said she could bring a larger serving and two cups. The wait staff were very patient with us as there was just so much mouthwatering options on the menu, it was hard for us to arrive down to what we knew we could finish. We ordered four rolls and shared all equally. It was a perfect way to try a lot of different t fishes - especially with one of the rolls being the Rainbow roll. The restaurant was quiet and intimate, a perfect date night. The lighting was enough so we could read the menus and see our food but dim enough to be romantic. I'll be honest I didn't notice the decor as a few of the tables had gotten some other interesting dishes that I ogled. I'll definitely be back!

We went around the block to just walk around and eventually went to the Schnucks across the street to grab a few things. Even though there were probably 4 parties waiting ahead of us, our total wait time was maybe 15-20 mins. Our server was soooooo funny and thoughtful. 10/10 made our night. I accidentally got glutened (my mistake not theirs). Just know if you have any dietary restrictions, they actually will do everything they can to prevent it. I just forgot to tell them and I accidentally ordered something I didn't know had tempura flakes in it (it is marked with a little triangle). I did not get charged for it, but in this day and age with restaurant margins being so thin, please don't waste food. Anyways, the food was delicious. My friend got the sexy girl roll on top of our dinner. It's a "cooked" roll with torch glazed/fired steak on top of a tempura shrimp roll. They also honor a student discount and I believe Sundays they do a BOGO deal on the AYCE which is such a great value if you can time it right. Once inside, I was directed to a table in the corner. The service was prompt, and we received our orders quickly. A younger gentleman approached us and seemed a bit confused when I asked about the drink menu. We were looking for sake, and they had a decent selection of both wine and sake, but nothing particularly exciting. We decided to try the Hana white peach sake, which was a pleasant surprise. The food menus were in a state of disrepair, with staples holding them together. We started with some appetizers, including pork gyoza, crab rangoon, and spicy edamame. The pork gyoza was delicious, but the crab rangoon was quite crunchy and flakey with not much flavor. The spicy edamame tasted like it had been soaked in Franks' Hot sauce or Sriracha sauce, which I wasn't a fan of. I wish I had ordered them regular instead. For sushi, I opted for a shrimp tempura roll and a rainbow roll, both of which satisfied my craving. Overall, it was a decent experience for the price, but nothing stands out that would bring me back again and again like other places. I might come back and try the ramen and see if that changes my mind.
