My family has been coming to the Pavilion since I was a kid and we recently took my dad there for his birthday because it's still one of his favorite restaurants. I had pretty high expectations since I remember it being pretty great as a kid and although it wasn't quite as amazing as in my memory, I think the reality lived up nicely. My food was great and our server was extremely friendly. One thing that I had really missed was the bread here, which sounds crazy. Went to this restaurant for the first time in several years. It was obvious when walking in around 12:30 pm that the restaurant must still be as good as before. I asked to be seated at a table and fortunately a group was leaving at just that time so the hostess went to clean it off for us to be seated. During the shortwait, I noticed that there was only one booth open. We were seated and a server was there quickly to take our drink order. In spite of being at amost 100% full the noise level was not intrusive so we could easily carry on a conversation. After placing our order, we noticed a number of tables were waiting for their food. Some tables had there food brought at different times. But fortunately ours came in a very timely manner and our server kept our iced tea filled. I also noticed how the servers were helping each other out in keeping the customers satisfied. We chose this location to order catering for a business lunch. Their salad is SO fresh and delicious, especially with their 1000 Island dressing. I've only had their lasagna, so was happy to try the baked spaghetti (other pasta options available). It did not disappoint. The sauce was very flavorful and not too salty. My family has been coming to Pavilion for years. It's the tried and true for everything yummy and Italian. This go around we came to celebrate my brother's bday and it didn't disappoint. Starting with the salad, it was lovely. Salads are large for side salads and come with onions, tomatoes and cucumbers. And TWO sides of dressings! Perfect! I ordered the chicken Alfredo lemonatta. SO GOOD. It was a basic Alfredo with penne noodles and a chicken breast on top. All covered in that beautiful, cheesy sauce! And a lemon slice! My brother ordered the Italian sausage cacciatore and he loved it! While the sauce was just okay, he said the sausage was amazing! Our server let us know they buy it fresh from someone who makes it homemade. It doesn't better than that, y'all! My mom ordered the spaghetti alla Venice. Her all time favorite. She loved it always. And raves about her salad the whole time as it's her favorite. Their wine is also reasonably priced and delicious. I recommend the chateau st. Michelle Riesling. My brother got the first cab on the list. It was $4.95 and for the price quit tasty. This place remains forever in my heart and I will always look forward to my visits. read more

I visited Pavilion because I was craving spaghetti and did not want to drive to the other side of town to get Mythos. Service was great, nothing over the top. It took about 15 minutes for me to receive my order once I placed it on the inside. I then waited out, on the front bench, for my food to be prepared because it was so dark inside the restaurant. The food was okay. The salad that came with it was huge. I paid extra for olives and peppers. Pretty pricey for a basic spaghetti. I may visit again and try something else. read more

Portions have been reduced by half and now you only get buttered bread, salad is extra. Service was horrible and one person in our party didn't get their food until we were finished eating. The server forgot to enter o e entree. Our server was new and was evidently thrown to the wolves on a Saturday night. We had to ask for butter twice, drinks three times, and the forgotten entree three times, just to get the things once. This is my go-to restaurant in Greensboro. I'm a very long time customer and travel frequently from North Greensboro for the consistent delicious and affordable food. The house salad with house-made blue cheese is simple and my favorite of all the iceberg salads on the Earth. Daily specials are always a good choice especially if you're looking for a tasty bargain. Roast pork dinner is a favorite. Veggies change daily and there's usually 10-12. Who can resist cheese meat and tomato sauce. There's lots of that. Lasagna is always good and frequently fabulous! Get the senior size and a salad or you'll probably have to get a box for leftovers. This is not the "best" restaurant in town but it is the kind of place you're family and friends are going to enjoy. It had been awhile since we had visited this Southern Greensboro/Sedgefield comfort food icon, so we planned lunch there today after visiting the next door local meat market. This was not our best experience here from both a food and service perspective. We arrived just after 11 AM, were quickly seated, drinked up, and ordered up. We order 2 of the daily specials, Lasagne and the Chopped Steak. The side for the Lasagne was a tossed salad with blue cheese dressing (made in house & excellent), and it came promptly. Our entrees took over 25 minutes to arrive - no one else was being served either, so it was definitely a kitchen problem. The Lasagne was not nearly as good as we had experience before - the sauce was fine, but there was an underlying taste to the lasagne itself that was not pleasant. The Chopped Steak was simply cooked to death - it was completely void of any form of mositure. The sides were fried okra and lima beans, and both were super. The limas were very, very well seasoned. Bill for the entire lunch with drinks came to $14.76, so pricing is not a problem here. The quality of the food was not up to the standards we have experienced here before. And the service was simply S L O W - if a restaurant turns on its sign & opens it doors, it needs to be ready to serve its food. Disappointing experience. read more

A friend told me about this place and because I trust his judgement, I tried it. AND I LOVED IT. The lasagna is the best bet on the menu. Big, thick sheets of pasta are layered with ricotta, Parmesan and provolone cheeses, and ground beef, covered in a robust and meaty tomato sauce. Served with a shredded lettuce salad and a slice of thick, hot buttered toast. Most of the lunch specials come with a side salad, bread and iced tea. The salad dressings are fresh and made in-house. If the small ramekins aren't enough, order a pint or two to take home. The ranch and Italian dressings are some of the best in town and worth the drive for these simple condiments. The rotating daily specials and sides keep the menu fresh and interesting. Over 15 sides are available each day, including lima beans, turnip greens, fresh cucumber salad, sliced peaches, potato salad, fried green beans, and macaroni and cheese. The dinner platters range from Greek-style broiled and crab-stuffed tilapia (I don't even LIKE tilapia and I want to go back and order it next time) to marinated and seared rib-eyes, chops and sliced leg of lamb (MY FAVORITE) Greek-style here seems to mean marinated in oil, lemon, garlic, herbs and spices. The service is fast, perfunctory and incredibly cordial. Your beverages get filled without you noticing, and everyone you encounter from the host to the cashier is smiling. The friendly atmosphere is one of the more pleasant aspects of visiting Pavilion. The food seems to be a bonus after the display of high levels of hospitality. read more

I consider this a family restaurant. And it is run by one. The meat sauce is to die for. It's great with garlic bread (normal bread). The Italian food is wonderful. That said, the atmosphere isn't perfect, but it is a family restaurant, so that's not a negative in my mind in this circumstance. this is where you want to go with family. It's not heavily romantic, but it's a nice place, and not loud They also have normal non-Italian food. It has a home made feel/taste to it, but is worth it. read more

It had been at least 20 years since I had been to Pavilion so we decided to revisit for lunch today. Capacity is 75, according to the sign on the door and we had to wait ten minutes for a table, so there were quite a few folks eating when we got there. A few of the servers had their masks below their noses, including ours. Not happy about that but we decided to stay. The chopped steak was very good. Cooked to a medium well which is how it was ordered. Served with boiled new potatoes that were nothing special. The lasagna was ok but I wouldn't order it again. The sauce was tasty but the cheese was sparse and not melted. The cheesy topping was missing which is the best part of lasagna in my opinion. The whole piece was lukewarm when it hit the table. Disappointing. The house salad was shredded iceberg with two cucumbers. My friend got two cherry tomatoes but I didn't so I stole one of his. We tried the fried green beans and they were passable. The best part of our meal was the blue cheese and ranch which are made in house and are excellent. There was nothing bad about our meals but nothing that stood out or would make me drive 35 minutes again to revisit. read more

Father's Day dinner on Monday June 21, 2021. Our server, Ryland, was AMAZING! We were seated right away..he got drink orders, appetizers then dinner orders. Everything was perfect! We enjoyed chatting with him..and cracking jokes. He was very attentive and genuinely seemed to enjoy his job. This day and time, it's so hard on those working in a lot of businesses. Lack of enough employees, being overwhelmed, working extra, low pay...we appreciate each one and we tip accordingly, even extra. Thank you for being open and always having wonderful food! The Pavillion is absolutely "A-OK" offering Italian, Greek, and American comfort food at good prices. It's been a while since I've eaten here but after today's lunch I can assure you I'll be back soon! Expectations are not set too high from the outside but when you step inside you immediately know you're in a very comfortable establishment with the old Italian restaurant decor. The Pavillion takes me back to Italian restaurants I grew up with such as Anton's and Flamenco. BTW, Pavillion is owned by the same family that owned Flamenco. Italian food has become more refined in recent decades, but the way Pavillion prepares their food brings back fond memories. I had the lunch special which was a meat, two sides, and bread. I chose the Chicken Parmesan with mac'n cheese and fried green beans. I told you it was comfort food! The food is good, not great, but good, and the prices are very fair. We had two lunch specials with iced teas for $15.00. The food is the same as what you found at Anton's and Flamenco in "the day". The Chicken Parm was good and cheesy in a very tomatoey sauce. This is a good place to go for a good lunch or dinner. It's comfortable, the service is good, the food is decent, and the price is right. read more

I saw our server when she took our order and delivered our food, after that, it was a good twenty five minutes before she wandered back with the check. And since we were in the back, it was hard to be noticed by anyone else. Another server looked like we asked him for kidney when we mentioned our server wasn't around and we needed refills.
