Garden Treasures Nursery & Local Farm

Garden treasures is a cute spot-- it offers a lot of variety regarding crops and other goods, and…read moreit's just overall a very nice spot to walk around in, especially in the summertime! I am ALL for buying local, and if you can afford it, this spot could be perfect for you... I think most will find it's not the most affordable. Example-- they are selling a box of apples for $35 but you could easily buy 20 pounds of apples for $20 from many of the local families in Stanwood/Mt Vernon/ Arlington. Garlic bulbs at Garden treasures are 20$ a pound-- again, you can get boxes of garlic bulbs for much cheaper from other nearby family farms. I could go on. Again, if you can afford it, this is a cool one stop shop for good crops. For my family (we are farmers too) it's just way too expensive/ not a good bang for your buck at all... especially in this economy. My suggestion is-- look to FB marketplace for amazing deals on seasonal crops, you'll get a lot more for your dollar and you're still shopping local.

Besides produce, they also have local cheese and snacks along with a couple of grocery items. We didn't go into the nursery but the bouquet arrangements and potted flowers were beautiful. You have to ring the bell at the checkout, and someone will be there right away to help you. Service was friendly and prompt after ringing the bell.

While the design suite was beautiful and custom - it was hard to get Sheryl to take feedback without getting defensive - leading to products that didn't quite get it right. However, the major complaint is WAY past the deadline. Invitations are slated to go out pretty close to the wedding if you are at the end of the season. We specifically requested an earlier delivery date in our contract - instead we got the invitations later than the original date. However, Sheryl didn't change the RSVP by date when she finally sent them out - so people had no time to RSVP. Some people were scanning and faxing their RSVPs back because they were so worried they were past the deadline. Paper Moxie expressly states that they are not responsible for proofreading in their contract. However, they don't state that when you send them corrections you have to triple check that they actually did them... For a seriously high end invitations suite, the customer service and final product just aren't where they need to be. By far the wedding vendor I was most disappointed in.

I am a local wedding planner in Seattle and have had the pleasure of working with Sheryl of Paper…read moreMoxie over the last five years. She is truly a paper genius and gifted designer! Sheryl's ability to create unique designs and patterns and construct stationary that reflects each couple's personality is evident in each piece she makes. Her attention to detail is what sets her work apart. Recently she created an invitation suite and wedding day stationary for a dear couple of mine, Betty and Craig, and I wanted to share their feedback. "Sheryl Bracken is an amazingly talented sought after stationary designer in Seattle and a pleasure to work with. Her personality, style and ability to connect with her couples visions made Michelle think that she would be a great fit for us. Sheryl's creativity is abundant and each invitation and corresponding pieces are original, reflect the couple and have an impressive amount of detail and thought that goes into them. The invitations set the tone for the wedding experience, it is the first item our guests will receive. We definitely want to make a great first impression! Michelle set up a meeting with Sheryl, so Craig and I had a chance to see her portfolio of designs. We were so impressed! We are so excited to see what Sheryl will create for our wedding invitations!" "Thank you so much for designing a perfect invitation that suits our personality and wedding theme." "The thought you put into our wedding day stationary is so appreciated. The table signs came out wonderfully as did the programs, menus, etc. It was the little details that really made our day feel that much more special."
