We tried Patty B's for our first time this evening. We kicked off our dinner with the fried mozzarella and butternut squash arancini appetizers. The mozzarella was amazing. The arancini was moist and cheesy but had very little butternut to speak of. We enjoyed the baked rigatoni (very strongly spiced and light on the bolognese), chicken scampi (amazing) and ziti with sausage (satisfyingly tasty). The entrees are very hearty portions, served with a slice of garlic bread. We had bolognese sauce added to the sausage dish for a nominal $3 up-charge; well worth it. When you walk into the restaurant, you are greeted with a beautiful display case full of homemade desserts. Our birthday boy selected a tall slice of Limoncello Cake and I had a slice of Black Forest cake. Both were great. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. read more

UPDATE 12/2023: Most of the comments from my 2018 review still apply. Prices have increased substantially. For example, the $4 Caesar salad I had in 2018 is now $7. This trip we had Linguini with white clam sauce and Chicken Piccata over linguini. Both were very good - lots of clams and plenty of chicken. Portions were ample. The mini eclairs for dessert were excellent. Service was fabulous. The rating was 4 stars because of the noise level - it is extreme - like being in a rowdy, crowded bar. If it were not for the noise, it would be 5 stars. If you like Italian fare, you'll enjoy PattY B's. read more

Call in for take out went unanswered after multiple times (6) - ok its a Friday. So I thought I'd take a spin down in the car and order it. That was a mistake. The surly server made it seem like an inconvenience. No idea given on how long the food would be. No seating while I waited. Asked multiple times what I was doing there. I came here from nyc to visit friends, I heard this was a nice litte italian place and read all the good reviews so I figured why not go here? I have to say its the WORST italian food I've ever had. On par with Olive Garden... even they are better which is not saying much! I am Italian, and I am from NYC, which has some of the best Italian Restaurants so I know what good Italian food is. Obviously the good reviews this place got are from locals who do NOT KNOW GOOD ITALIAN FOOD! They have the nerve to charge NYC prices for horrible food. Very expensive for food totally not worth it. I was shocked thinking it would be cheaper since its NH. Wow! then tax on top of it? The service was incredibly SLOW. We waited forever for the food. We were starving! And then to be so disappointed with the food when it finally arrived! I was beyond disgusted. Not to mention the attitudes and customer service was less than cozy and warm. Not impressed. Between my sister's fish and chips and my supposedly inferno level vodka pasta, there wasn't a bit of taste to be found. Mozzarella appetizer sauce was also bitter. We might try them again for the sandwiches. Service slow but ok, nothing to rave about overall. read more

Chicken Marsala on their squash risotto was absolutely amazing! So much flavor in every bite. I could eat it everyday, which says a lot. The cannoli was stuffed to order, very crunchy, filling was light and not too sweet. 10/10 read more

I know I've already given them 5 stars but it's been a couple of years and I really want to shout out their consistency. We've been several more times since my first post and I've also had them cater a holiday dinner. Their food is always delicious, always hot, always huge portions... Just great all around. The portions are seriously so large that I end up with a couple days worth of leftovers which between that and the quality, they have an excellent price point. The restaurant is clean, the service is quick even on busy nights, and they have really great and diverse specials every time we stop in. In fact, their specials are so wonderful that I'm pretty sure my husband has yet to order anything off of their regular menu because the specials just sound too good each trip. They have incredible desserts - Even though I'm always absolutely stuffed after dinner, I still have to grab a dessert every visit and I don't think I've been let down by anything yet. Most importantly though, they have an excellent staff. I have always been impressed with my meal and their wait staff. Our last visit was mine and my husband's 10th anniversary. He asked our waitress to take our picture and she asked what the occasion was. We ordered dessert (Like I said, we always have to get something because the dessert case just looks too damn good), and our waitress brought back our cake and said it was on them for our anniversary. Amazing Penne A La Vodka. Made me go to heaven and wonder how I ate pasta before this experience. Anyone who hates on the amount of sauce they use aren't authentic italians and should reconsider their pasta standards. This was a cute restaurant and was seated earlier than expected. Yum. read more

I've gone a couple of times to make sure I didn't catch them on a bad day. I see that many people rave about this place, but I never got anything more than "meh". The food was okay...but I can do much better Italian at home. A few of the dishes didn't have a ton of flavor. I tried their bolognese and it was the laziest sauce I'd ever eaten. It was HUGE chunks of carrot, onion, and celery...the noodles were right out of the box, boiled, and swimming in water at the bottom of the bowl. The taste wasn't anything that is a bolognese. It was more like American chop suey Staff was minimally attentive and it just wasn't as good as everyone says. Oh well... there are plenty more options. read more

So I went back to Patty Bs tonight for my 2nd visit with my wife & daugther tonight. On my last visit my daugther and I loved the food just not the service. I would never write a restaurant off after some slow service (kitchen service) especially when the food was so tastey. Tonight was a completely different experience, 4 stars for the food 5 stars for the service. We sat outside tonight, really cooled off nicely, our server Angela was outstanding, patient and attentive. And the kitchen service was spot on, all the meals were delivered promptly and hot. Presentation was sx pot on also. Our 3 meals, chic broccoli alfredo w Ithaca baby spinach, Pasta carbonara with spinach and homemade fettuccine with marinara and hot Italian saugus where all exceptionally good. I love tastey fresh food, Patty Bs delivered that tonight. Looking forward to making Patty Bs a regular stop. read more

A great little Italian restaurant, best in the area. The meat lasagna my wife got was huge and delicious, I got the salmon with angel hair pasta and it was very tasty, The staff is friendly and attentive. Desserts were also very good. This will be our go to Italian place in the future. read more

Last night we've finally got tired of *telling* all our friends how great place Patty B's is - and brought them close and personal to the place. We had a 15-strong party, so our friends and family could see for themselves. And as always Patty B's didn't disappoint! We had one of their function rooms to enjoy. And that was indeed a joy! We started with our standard first move: we've got our favorite "Bruschetta for 2" for everyone and it only went better with ordering from a menu. Good restaurant must have great food. Great restaurant must keep food to be great year after year after year. Patty B's learned that major trick many years ago and keeps the bar so high and so infallible. We were lucky with wine choice (San Angelo Pinot Grigio and Sartori Pinot Noir) and everyone - really! everyone! - had only praises for food and desserts. But when you think about famous "warm homely atmosphere" - that makes the whole world of difference. When our superb waitress Melissa saw my grandchildren sitting in the corner on the floor (and watching some cartoon on a phone) she immediately brought two blankets: one to sit on and another to cover those tired kids. Such care is genuine, you can't fake it. And we do appreciate Patty B's people to take care of us every time we visit. It melts your heart - in addition to that happy food they serve. Thanks again! Food portion here is huge! I came here for a sandwich and was only able to finish half. They taste very good as well. The only downside is slow service. I came here around 2pm with almost no other tables taken, but I still have to wait for a while for the sandwich. Well, maybe my bread was baked after my order was placed to guarantee freshness. read more

Our group had mixed results. Some had delicious meals and others were bland and not tasty. Staff were very pleasant and cordial but obviously on edge even though it did not seem to be very crowded which I thought odd until..... we witnessed and heard the verbally abusive treatment the owner/manager was dishing out to staff. It was down right disgraceful SHAME ON YOU LADY!!! You need to get some anger management treatment and take some classes on professionalism and management. Patty B's surprised me because of the simple interior, menu and decor. The food would keep me coming back if I lived in the area. I had the scampi with grilled chicken in a bowl two times the size of my head. Be warned, come hungry! It takes a lot for me to be happy with gluten free pasta, the sauce and the protein. One or the other usually is not up to snuff or just down right disappointing but all three were simply delicious. Don't come here expecting fancy or anything extra, sadly no spinach or broccoli on the menu. My healthy meal plan went out the window as soon as I saw the menu. A pleasant surprise find. Looking for a family friendly restaurant to feed two adults and four kids ranging from 4 to 16. Very pleasant staff, delicious food with generous portions. Even the servings from the kid's menu were generous. All the standard Italian selections on the menu, we were very impressed with the bruschetta appetizer. The fries and onion rings served with the sandwiches were excellent, crispy on the outside and not greasy. We are taking home three desserts that greeted us at the hostess station on entering (limoncello cake, raspberry cheesecake and castle chocolate cake). To tempting to leave behind. Had a very good dinner here! Garlic bread with everything, how can you go wrong? Calamari was fair but I liked how it was served on said garlic bread, baked wings amazing, wish they had Coca Cola, interesting seared romaine with yummy goat cheese, haddock fresh and flaky, salads also fresh, great sausage sub and huge, although not much to look at, lasagna. I don't know why there was a 25 minute wait when I saw at least four empty tables. And it took forever to get our tab but our waitress was really nice. My wife and I stopped here on our way home from a show at xfinity center the night before, My wife asked what i wanted so I said italian and asked siri "find the best italian restaurant"and patty b's came up first, now both of us are very happy that we found this place. We had the Alfredo, Carbonara, a side of rissotto (it sounded so good!) a bottle of wine, and a slice of blueberry cheesecake to share. The price was reasonable, just under $80 all together. The food really was excellent. I usually roll my eyes when people say the serving size is big. I can always finish my meal. It really was this time. I think we had a pound of pasta each. We saved some leftovers and kept room for the dessert. I'm glad we did. It really was likely the best I have ever had. The service was very good and welcoming. We were given water on arrival and the right amount of attention so we felt she was attentive without being there too often. It was Tuesday, so a Friday may be more hectic. Excellent choice to make when you are looking for Excellent Italian food. Food inconsistently delicious. Staff is attentive, helpful and the setvice was quick.
